I've tried really hard to listen and with all positivity, I must say that Mrs. Peretyatko hardly has any good moments in this aria. No idea why she cannot sing on pitch or why that trill is poorly executed; but for a singer that performs at the Met, I think the quality of her singing is a bit low. I've never thought that this particular cadenza would be so difficult for a soprano that's established herself in the coloratura repertoire for so many years (more than ten I think). I don't want to offend anybody, especially because there's already too many negative comments here, but I've heard conservatory students being able to sing all the notes correctly; even if their voices were less beautiful.
I can sort of understand the negative comments in here. Undoubtedly, she is a poor musician and a bad singer. But regarding the career she's making, is it her fault? Only partially, maybe. The system is totally wrong and allows her to stand out. It's easier to fight against null singers, but is that going to fix anything? It's hard to believe that in a year or two when Olga will retire, a good singer will replace her. Think about the past few years singers, so the next big one it's expected to be worse than Natalia de Andrade.

The problem with most today's singers is that they have nothing to offer on stage. Here is the example of a nicely dressed and nice looking girl with a very common, tiny voice and no vocal technique. A singer must be special in some ways in order to leave something meaningful behind; I find it unfortunate how she cannot cope with the score, especially in the cadenza that is totally out of her element. This sounds really painful for her, sorry.

Coloratura soprano with insecure high notes hahhahahha she is the smallest voice I ever heard live what a disaster!!!! For those who praise her: Gilda is NOT a soubrette role....read before commenting. AND it's not about comparing her to any other soprano....but almost every other coloratura soprano had at least good coloraturas and high notes even if their voices were not suitable for the Verdi score. This is just a mess :))
