- US Navy Testing Deadliest $500 Million Missile-Killing Gatling Gun!
One missile-disintegrating Gatling gun has the attention of the world today - it just saved the lives of an entire crew of US Navy service people. Despite an entire array of defense systems on US Navy ships, if this gun hadn’t done what it did, it could have been catastrophic for the American ship. So what did it do exactly? It all began at the Red Sea.
Absolutely super proudy to " us navy " the bigest power on ocean: thailand.
Ray, a good friend of mine (and a good trpt player), worked on, and tested the Gerneral Dynamics Phalanx system when it was first introduced. He told me he and his crew put the Phalanx on a big flatbed simi and drove it up and down the coast on HWY 1, shooting down drones and other targets.
He’s lying. Drones weren’t around then.
I had a land based one based a few hundred yards from my base camp in Iraq… it did its job back then in 2005
Base...base...base base...
@@TheKrighter It's all about that bass...no treble.
@@GM-fh5jp 😂🤣😅
I joined the navy in 1994 and they had these then pretty old technology
Imagine 16-18 inch guns not running out of ammo, not overheating or burning out, and the giant gattling firing shells as fast as this.
It goes Brrrrrrr
As a US Navy Vet I stopped this video when you said serves "people", we are serves men, both men and wo"men" it includes both. Off to Navy Times to get the real news on this
One thing made me think after seen the picture of that weapon. If that sitting on the take off part of a carrier how the hell the jets could take off or land?. LOL
It's on the Destroyer not in aircraft carrier!
😊@@eliezerjuat6633
On a carrier, the Phalanx is below the flight deck.
That was just a click bait.
Wait until you see the laser weaponry on us ships
The US Navy has had to C wiz for a long time I don't know what this guy's talking about the The thing is literally been in service since the 80s
It is mentioned in the video and there have many improvements. Like the ammo for one used to leave a real cloud of smoke hanging around the deck.
Also used on the A-7E, F-14, and F/A-18.
He said that it's been in service since the early 80s. It's talking about the improvements and the recent use.
Blanket the skies with a "wall of LEAD!"
NOT "A wall of Steel?" They don't fire steel bullets 😢
They don’t fire lead either. The shells used to be depleted uranium and are tungsten now.
Cooool!!! Roa aotearoa nui.
Good ol Goalkeeper
still waiting. for the 500 million system
Old Painless on steroids.
Old news. They’ve been around for 40+ years.
Stupid comment.
They now come in a variety of rainbow colors!
I really hope they clean up all that metal after those attacks.
If they're on the land then they can, if they're on the sea, then there's no possible way then they can pick up that metal. But I do see your point.
Kicked over board.
They've been using these shore-based, for years.
Decades.
They sure aren't gonna put it in the middle of an aircraft carrier 😂
How about Helios? Still under test?
It’s pronounced See Wiz and these are so cool watching them go to work on targets
Also earned the nickname R2D2.
J😅🎉❤😮😊😂p@@dalecarmody8631
RIGHT...😊 LOVE THE CWIS
i always thought it was 'Sea Witch'
This idea of a missile killing gun was born during the Falklands War, when the UK realized that NATO warships had no defense against Argentina's Exocet missiles.
The Falklands crisis was in 1982 The Phalanx system the missile killing gun origin idea was "born" 11 years prior to the Falklands crisis. It first tested on a US Navy destroyer the USS King in 1973. But it did not do very well, but it passed and completed all test in 1977 on the USS Bigalow, still 6 years ahead of the Falklands crisis. In 1980 the USS Coral Sea was the first aircraft carrier to be fully equipped with the Phalanx

Thought we were going through have giant lasers. 😂
War Games are necessary in order to advance towards better weapons.
I live on a small Island, who can't invade anyone, nor anyone is interested in invading, hooray!
Suffer the same fate as the Titanic???
Was the Titanic attacked by the iceberg's missiles? I don't get your reference to the Titanic, sunk, yes. But... HUH??? 🤔
This frees up dope shipments for the multinational dope empire employees.
So where do the spent rounds end up. Would assume this is something that is only used to sea away from land.🤔
So How the fk did the incoming not get taken out by mid to long range systems???????? Was someone asleep?
SM2's are not cheap. In flight failures are common, and Jamming is cheap. Layered defenses work.
Custer was defeated because he chose not to bring his
own Gatling Gun. Just saying.
Electric Rail Guns over the horizon
The phalanx system should have a bigger caliber and should shoot a longer distance . A ship should have 2 , one the caliber they have and one that has a larger caliber . The navy should have small ships that have the finance system , and “ killer eggs ( vary small kill choppers ) to deal with Iran ( and other countries ) speed boats.
But still don't under-estimate CH❗NA
Amerika Wale technology ke mamle me pure world se 1000 varsha aage chal rahe hain amezing 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

So much for opsec....
Its only play station game , america just cluck cluck or quack quack ......😂
Wow i need some of those lol
Cool
One EMP makes it useless its better to use IOWA class battle ship like the 1940 s
We need it more of these would help our military 🪖 looks badass also 😊❤
Does this meant ur regular missiles failed
8M to 10M per round!!!!!!! That is ridiculous. Whoever authorised this expenditure needs to be investigated. 😮
i would not believe anything in this video
What's so special about this? Everyone superpower have it.
If it’s electric it gives out a large signature that’s easily whacked.
It's not a aircraft carrier.
Really liked this one. 75 big rounds per second is always impressive to see - and hear. Can either side use torpedoes? And can the US ships defend against torpedoes?
What a stupid question
@@omarionbayley9721 Not my most brilliant, I will admit. Vodka, anyone? 😁
@@blucat4 lmao 😂
@@blucat4 No wonder you posed such a dumb "test".
@@blucat4 No wonder you posed such meaningless test.
If we would have had these guns on the river boats in nam, dam!!!😂😅
sea wiz....................
I'M sure they will block the catapults with it on an aircraft carrier that would be the perfect place😅
Kim John should build this machine
Uhm..GOT Google the caliber MUCH
US's Phalanx is still 6 barrelled 20mm?
Other navies are using 30mm ones with better range and stopping power. Like Goalkeeper or 11 barrelled 1130
Ironically the 30mm Goalkeeper is made by the same contractor that makes the Phalanx.
Bet it really rocks that ship, back & forth ?? Plus you better have ear protection on....WOW !!....In my opinion
Little to no recoil. Mostly vibration. Older ammo used to leave a super size cloudy haze in the air.
USA 🇺🇸 USA 🇺🇸 USA🇺🇸 USA 🇺🇸
If they shooting theys gonna die don't they realize what they are going to get if they don't stop yeah you can get hammered by multiple Aircraft that can cross the ocean in a hour and strike hard with multiple weapons out loads and lasers
500mil. Think that is not the cost per unit.
What an arms race.
Easy counter, fly smaller drones about water a few meters or assault in squads, a few front runners to sacrafice / drain their ammo while big payload in back.
Easy sure 🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡
The Houthi’s are winning
Not,,,_umb _ss,,,,🤏💩🕳️👎
The cheesy music on this video makes it hard to take the video seriously. Hoaky.
What if they use a weapon to take out electronics?
How do you do a video this in depth & fail to tell what caliber bullet this thing fires? 50 Caliber? Oh, wouldn't we like to know. The most important & first question anyone would ask, & "nothing." Weak
Cwiz This is fake as there is nothing for sale for just 500 mil
Far over priced but should be mass produced
It still seems like they need more. Redundancy maybe.
Only $ 500 million could said a billion
👍🇺🇸
we fyt ur war y u dont fyt ours i injurd at ayungin shoul u help nver
USA USA USA!!!!!
I PITTY THE FOOL THAT CHALLENGES YHE U.S
What is new that they are testing? Huh? Huh?
In case that Russia´s hypersonic Kinzhal would be used , than non of those guns would not notice anything before it would be too late....
Do you believe in BS 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@cliffordbuttle4529 Do not worry, I do believe (as you also do believe), that Russia needed to buy many washing machines to make missilles which wiped out USA´s Patriots in Ukraine.
Funny how those "unstoppable" Russian hypersonics got blasted from😂 the sky in Ukraine by the Patriot system.😂😂 Oh well, back to the drawing board Vladimir.😵💫
@@daveesser231 I have a question for you regarding Patriot.... Who did report that those hypersonic missilles were shot down by Patriot? Ukraine did...., nation depending on USA and USA love such a "true" story, so Ukraine kept sending them...however in the meantime, USA kept losing Pattriot systems inside Ukraine one by one...Why are you so naive to believe anything to your main stream media ?
Pls protect manhattan...
Ptfff
But US failed to answer IRAN and small force Houthis missiles ?
NO GOOD VISUAL ASSAULT.
The mighty US Navy.
Comprising Destroyers, Aircraft Carriers, and plenty of other vessels that get wrecked by Houthi missiles. LMFAO.
Free China
One i find the US talking too much especially at military level, they should just use what they have and shut up!!
why U S already lost some military ship by Houthi with out war, if the real war coming, how many U S ship will lost, as Houthi said the red sea will be the U S ships cemetery
It only needs three shots to hit a target.
Not like those stupid video games.
Disarmament and no war.
Slick!😎🆓️🇺🇸🆓️🌎🆓️🇺🇦😏😏😏😏😏
They can protect themselves... not the ships crossing Red sea.... they can only safe gaurd their own ship.... 😂 20 mm 40mm gun.... waste...
It makes you wonder......are modern sailors on US warships prepared to repel borders?
AH Now this is one big lump of bull shit.
500 million that over priced way over priced an investigation need to be done who all is gitting money from that .
Bull shit alert!
