A new book titled "How the World Ran Out of Everything" examines how the health crisis exposed the fragility of a system that was always at risk of collapse. Author Peter Goodman joins to discuss.

    The supply chain has always been fragile
    The north won the civil war not because of land battles but rather because of its naval blockade of the coasts and the Mississippi River
    Nothing new just a recurring situation

    I remember some people back in the 80s decrying all the jobs going to China, while others raked in the dough whining they could not otherwise compete.

    Customers giving me the surprised pikachu face when we can’t make something next week because half of what we need is overseas lol. We can’t make things instantly appear like it felt like 5 years ago!
