@@AthelstanEngland I've watched almost every Billy video on here while "working." I close my office door and jam when his live shows are streamed on Mixlr.
That lady in the back was killing me…..on her phone and seemingly oblivious to the greatness that was right beside her. Billy is soooo talented it’s ridiculous.
Bro I was just telling myself that. It’s crazy that such a talent just comes out one day and it’s understood by us all that it’s on a different level entirely.
Bonjour François, Point je ne connais, ce monsieur et encore moins cette chanson. Comme d'habitude, une belle interprétation. Merci de m'avoir fait connaître ce chanteur et chanson. Bonne journée. Bises. Yvon
Collings guitars are far superior to Martins. If you can find one. And Taylor is making an all around better product as well. Matin's rested on its laurels as America's Guitar for far too long. They're not at all innovative like Taylor is and their QC is awful. But Billy Strings would sound great playing a Daisy Rocks.
Written by Allen Reynolds, first recorded by Crystal Gayle, a country hit in 1976. Unquestionably its best recording was a live performance by Doc Watson (with minimal backup by David Holt), available on Bottom Line Archive: Doc Watson, 2002.
Oh, man. He must be one helluva guitar player if his name is "strings." It's uncanny that someone with a last name like that would then turn out to be so gifted on a guitar. Does anybody else think that's an amazing coincidence?
I don’t, it’s not his real name, lol. ‘Billy Strings’ is a made up stage name - his real name is William Apostol. Sorry, didn’t mean to burst the bubble.
I think maybe it was his aunt that named him Strings. Kids been playing since he was a wee lad. His dad is awesome too, if you like the music. It was only about three or four years ago a friend turned me on to his music.
Ha ha ha - Oh, man. That lady is just standing there texting, oblivious that something spectacular is going on right within spitting distance. God save us from our phones! :(
Long John. I was so blessed to have heard Doc and Merle a half dozen times. Wonderful concerts. My favorite guitarist and great storyteller.Even in an auditorium It felt like I was on his front porch! Heard Billy too, a few times. He carries on the tradition properly and adds to it.
Every time Billy plays a new guitar an angel gets it’s wings
😅😅 lol😂 yessss
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏
I'd love to see him play a Maton.
When i play a new guitar, billie trys to get to my level.......
cowboy got their horses.
That guitar will never be happy again
If the guitar could talk it would probably say "hell yeah" ! Lol
Anyone else just scratching their heads at the obliviousness of the knuckleheads in the background ignoring this display of raw talent?
I can't imagine being in that room and not completely transfixed
Yeah, I get the sense that Bryan Sutton isn't all that impressed with Billy's piking.
If bryan sutton has no recognition for billys talent, hes a stuck up snob. Sutton has never really impressed me personally anyways..
@@AnnieReigns-qi9qj I think he was just on the clock, no time to fanboi, he's got a gig to prepare for.
Maybe he just has shit to do..@@AnnieReigns-qi9qj
The most entertaining guitarist of today. Such a blessing
He is a legend in his own time, very rare indeed
Incredible talent. So fortunate to have instant access to artists that i may have never heard otherwise. Long live Billy Strings and the internet!
One of the best pickers in the world today, without a doubt.
👀 Bryan Sutton in the background #bryanspotting
He makes the action on that thing so nice and smooth. Love watching him❤️
First time I've seen this lad. Not just the picking, it's the fact he knows and wants to play this type of music which is equally impressive. New fan.
Glad to hear! You should check out his cover of don’t think twice
You have some catching up to do.
@@pamcm1098 lol that is both the joy and curse of UA-cam. It takes you on a musical journey.... I'm supposed to be working! 😃
@@AthelstanEngland I've watched almost every Billy video on here while "working." I close my office door and jam when his live shows are streamed on Mixlr.
he's a famous bluegrass musician. His interest for bluegrass is not nearly the most impressive thing about him
Billy, Thank you for sharing your old soul and guitarmanship gifts with the world of listeners. Well Done!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Watched this about 100 times now.
Man that guitar is so well balanced from lows to the highs.
That man could play a Hickory stick with Kudzu vine for strings and make it sound good.
That lady in the back was killing me…..on her phone and seemingly oblivious to the greatness that was right beside her. Billy is soooo talented it’s ridiculous.
relax. you can enjoy something without fawning over it like a goon.
Hahahahaha I was thinking... "she couldn't care less" 😅
Maybe the clichés don’t interest her?
Maybe she’s into death metal. Give her a break
Nothing on that phone could be more important than whats going on in that room
Fuck I love this Guy ! His show in Paris France was amazing ! Keep going, we love what you do
That kid can sure pick the guitar. Amazingly talented.
so so so good... and the guitar sounds excellent
"I have it on good authority that that man sold his soul to da devil!!!" Great playing Billy!
Bro I was just telling myself that. It’s crazy that such a talent just comes out one day and it’s understood by us all that it’s on a different level entirely.

a force and talent to contend with.
He's the greatest guitarist in the world in recent history
“Sweet man” that’s one way to put it 😂 unreal

Hello friend, thank you for sharing this great melody, greetings.
Watching the “master” is like tonic for me.
His guitar playing is amazing
god, its so effortless
Oh nice guitar, I like that sound!
Great sounding guitar.
Billy’s a very lucky man. He’s played the guitars of two of the GOATS. Tony and Doc
And I wager Doc is smiling large now
Nothing to do with luck
Just brilliant!
Your energy is addictive
Billy makes it look so easy.
Great sounding machine 👌👌🇺🇸🙏🙏
the Guitar or Billy? 🙂
THAT is talent, kids!
Wow Ole!! That was fantastic man!! Greetings, Jimmy
Billy could play shoestrings and make em sound good
You are fantastic !
The future of the blues right there 👍👍👍
Nothing about blues here....more country bluegrass music
Amazing talent
Any chance you blue grassers could do some more bending, spicing it a bit?
He's the best!❤
Well, let’s not get carried away.
just fucking incredible. thanks billy
Amazing picking... Martin & Company has always made the best acoustic guitars.... And you couldn't find a better player to show off their prowess.
Billy says Preston Thompson is his favorite
Keeping the history alive ... while making his own along the way. People will talk about Billy Strings like they do about Doc Watson.
Great
Awesome playing
Awesome

My name is Santa
Nope.

Which song is he playing?
Lost John
Thanks
That lady in the background was trying to Google why people were so interested in watching this hippie play guitar.
WOW!
Sweet guitar sir. Sounds amazing! Where can one find your guitars?
Billy Strings. The best damn picker from here to Andromeda!
om28?
Billy Strings plays guitar as effortlessly as we just tapped play on this video.
Which song is this ?!
00:41 Wyatt!

The best picker I’ve ever heard

How is it that the woman is on her phone?
He played 2500 notes during the time the girl behind write 50 letters on her cellphone
Superbe. il joue bien et a en plus la voix qui sonne bluegrass
Ha ha ha - Oh, man. That lady is just standing there texting, oblivious that something spectacular is going on right within spitting distance. God save us from our phones! :(
Swear this man is a alien
❤
Maaan! 🔥
Great to see him playing something other than Dust in a baggie
I can’t get over how clean BS picking is
Ok, Billy Strings is playing3 feet from you and you're checking your phone? I'd be peeing in my pants
WOW
Pleas, i need a lesson to this song
The complete indifference of everyone else in this video is twisting my melon!
So that woman is in same room as Billy Strings playing such magic and she is more interested in her phone.
what song is this???
Lost John
Did you make that guitar? Truly a pleasure to have watched that. Many thanks.
Yes I made the guitar. All hand made like an old D-18
Absolutely mint
Billy could play wet cardboard and sound awesome.
👍👏🤝✌️👍👏🤝✌️👍👏🤝✌️
Wish I could alternate pick like him
What Doc Watson song was that?

Love the way all the people in the background are studiously ignoring the genius in their midst !
How come the old kady didn't look over??? Not once
Yep
