The VB 1 sound is legendary in psytrance. The secret is a second sawtooth wave an octave higher, with a slight volume. try it you will be amazed what a difference it makes!
OMG that VB1 brings back memories. I love the clean serum version. But I have to say the charm of the old Goa sound was how unpolished it was. it was all the nasty bits that gave it the extras that while tripping balls on the dance floor only sounded like magic random bits. I think thats what makes the tunes from the 93 - 97/98 so special. they were trying to be clean but they just were not quite there yet.
@@adrenakrohm you were there?? Amazing.!! I grew up there! so that was my whole life for the first 17 years. from 81 - 98 Teh best time in the world! I'm sure eI have danced with you! Bom Shanker!
Very neat video! I think the VB1 still wins though. It is still just a little bit tighter :). Haven't used it in ages but probably will soon again after watching this video!

Oooh intriguing. I'll try that for sure.
Might even add it to the Serum patch.
Excellent tutorial 🙂🙏
Thanks Psybur!

Oh for sure, that era will never be repeated and I feel sorry for those who weren't there to experience it.

Yeah it does have a very unique tone for sure.
lovely! mind out for that mono button though, it’s pretty prone to causing clicks etc
Yes, true. Definitely a "use your ears bro" decision.
That sounds dirty, love it =) I wonder how they went about simulating pickup and strumming position in the VB-1 synth...
Absolutely no idea. Way above my pay-grade I'm afraid.
