Been binging your Kyoto content. I love how you show us the in betweens of each tourist attraction. Really gives us an idea on what to expect on the surroundings!
The night views of Kiyomizu-dera looked awesome! Must’ve been even better in person. I’d put up with that crowd for photos especially since they seem to be more under control than the chaotic ones where we live 😂
It was very organized but very slow. I had a couple panics thinking about what would happen if there was a crowd surge and I got trampled. Soooo a bit anxious lol
I definitely recommend stopping in on some of the smaller shrines along the Philosopher's path. Ōtoyo-jinja Shrine is a small very quiet one with a lot of different animal statues. I wish I had a chance to stop by it! goo.gl/maps/o9kCtcDjPZPWrnrq7
Hi! I've only just found you videos when looking for the Hozugawa boat ride. I'm going this November, and was so excited to go to Kiyomizu dera at night. This has totally discouraged me, although it looks amazing haha. Nice vlogs :)
haha! I'm sorry to scare you off! We went opening night so it might be a bit less crowded than this... but last year was also very quiet in Kyoto compared to this year. Kiyomizu-dera night lights was definitely an experience but I wouldn't call it a beautiful spiritual experience. Something to experience if you aren't terrified of being crushed in a crowd! Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed the videos!
The Kiyomizudera nightime illuminated kōyō experience, worth the stressful crowds and the wait?... I'm going to guess that for me the answer would still have been yes, the effect is quite beautiful, altough I also have to think that the timing wasn't helpful (opening night? a Sunday maybe? crazy busy, feel sorry for the people working there...) Gorgeous images and smooth flow as always (=> great editing), thanks Laura 🙏
We knew we were getting into big crowds when we decided to go when we went. You can definitely get less crowds if you wait till later. We aren't late night people so we went pretty soon after opening. Oh and yes you are right it was a Saturday! haha. That would explain how busy Ohara was. When you are on vacation it's hard to remember what day it is. It's definitely an experience worth trying if you are okay with crowds. It was so interesting to see how they moved people. My dad would have had a heart attack just walking up to the place.
こんにちは、凄く渋い日本の風景を堪能できました。お若いのに伝統的な風景の写し方が美しいです。
