I’ve been a vegan for half my life and I haven’t been half as annoying and condescending during that entire time than she’s been in that week. She was preaching and preaching and then it’s like she developed amnesia.

Yep, I’ve been vegetarian since 2009 and I have vegan friends and I have told them my reason is cheese. I just can’t. Cheese is my Achilles heel
When she found out that Oreos are vegan, she was sold.
Her problem is that she didn’t actually have a meal plan. She just bought random ingredients and threw them together. Not a single satisfying substantial meal there.
I don’t think she realised that when you change to a vegetarian or vegan diet you have to re learn how to cook and how to make a good nutritious meal

The problem is, she doesn’t ever cook nutritionally balanced meals. Ever. Everything she cooks looks disgusting because she seasons the shit out of it and overcooks it on high heat.
Her vegan phase is proof of how confused she is about nutrition. Anything she watches or reads online, she gets baited in easily. She’s as impressionable as an 8 year old.

What do you think it is? It’s an egg. Same as humans have an egg. It’s just fertilised outside the body, rather than inside, and there is no womb (therefore no period because the period is discarding of the lining that is not used).

I’m a vegan and lemme tell you, it’s not for everyone and doing it overnight is probably the worst way to do it! I’m a vegan for medical reasons, not ethical reasons. Basically my body can’t breakdown meat protein very well, which causes me to basically puke up anything with meat or meat protein in it, which includes eggs. Dairy is technically fine on my body, but I don’t really like the taste of dairy, so leaving that behind was easy for me. But even I, being as sick as I was, didn’t cut out all meat right away. It was a process to go from meat to 100% plant based. Also, ALR needed to get some vegan meats to help with the transition, because it’s not just physical it’s mental as well. If you were someone who ate meat for 20 years, you think your mind is going to be fine with never having a burger again? Hell no! That’s why it’s important to still make yourself burgers using plant based meats, until finally your mind is used to the idea of not seeing meat on your plate or tasting it anymore. She was doomed to fail from the start, because as per usual she went all in, head first without thinking about the consequences it would have or the toll it would take on her body and mind. Basically, she’s an idiot.

I’ll never get over her complaining that her VOLUNTARY job ‘only’ provided her with a cheese toastie. Let’s not forget they weren’t obliged to provide her with anything - they cook for the residents and she’s meant to provide her own lunch, but she used to chow down on the cooked lunches that were left over, had ‘favourites’ and got MAD when the kitchen didn’t provide her with more than a cheese toastie 😂

The vegetarian for 10 days, then gets me because it’s painfully easy being vegetarian compared to vegan. You can eat basically anything.
The milk argument never makes sense to me. Almost all mammals will drink milk happily if they can get it, but weren't just lucky enough to have thumbs😊
Cats will binge drink cow's milk given the opportunity.
We are born lactose intolerant, that's why we don't give babies cow's milk. Some people never outgrow being lactose intolerant and dairy makes them sick.

It's a shame that she didn't try cutting red meat, then white meat, all meat and then moving on to dairy if possible. I doubt it would have gone far anyway, but if it caused her to at least eat a little bit better...

There's no way she would have lasted any longer doing it that way, she just doesn't have the willpower to do a diet for more than a few days, no matter how she kicks it off.

the argument can be made that it should definitely be a priority to ethically hunt & consume animals, but so often it’s not acknowledged that there are already so many pushes & changes in that direction

Ive been a vegetarian my entire life because im neurodivergent and super sensitive to smells, textures, etc. So this era is just funny to me. She makes being a vegan or vegetarian out to be impossible, its just funny how difficult she makes things for herself.

As a butcher I can tell you that all animals are gassed not slaughtered alive. Cows for milk are different than the cows we use for beef, and chickens are not pumped full of hormones and antibiotics. Meat is good for you, if it wasn’t we would have ancestors lol

That's not even remotely true. Many animals are stunned, and when the stun gun does not work, they are slaughtered whilst still living. Why on Earth the way they die matters to you when they are treated the way they are whilst living. Chickens have gone from weighing 905g to 4200g. They can live for up to 10 years, yet in intensive farming, they are lucky to see 6 weeks old let alone 12. Our ancestors where passing away as children. Their idea of old was 30 if not younger. What are you trying to prove?

depending on where you live, laws for what constitutes humane slaughter differ. afaik, where i live, the method of choice is stunning and/or bolt (depends on the animal and size). that's why kosher and halal slaughter sometimes requires exemptions, or the products are imported from countries where those ways of slaughter are allowed.
This isn't just about Amber but I never understood why vegans make their lifestyle an entire personality. It's like ok, you don't eat meat or animal by products. So what? Live your life and stop seeking validation.

Yeah, I don’t count my prescribed meds. If I buy something, like hair and nails supplements for sure I make sure I’m choosing vegetarian/vegan but I can opt out of my meds and being vegetarian made sense to me because eating meat made me distraught (I have OCD so that might be related come to think of it).
Vegan here. I think this is both hilarious and sad. I think she's just easily amazed and baited to try different weight-loss methods and is desperately looking for *the perfect one just for her*, but nothing works because she's not consistent. She even quit Ozempic because she couldn't binge on her favourite foods, i'm crying.
