To be fair, my shelter cat will only eat Friskies. I’ve donated so much “expensive” food because he just will not eat it/keeps trying to “bury” it. She’s an asshole, but so are cats.

The Jenny Craig food just seems like a lot of candy bars and desserts disguised as “diet food”
I did JC about 25 years ago and I remember I had “saved” my calories all day so I could eat the JC pizza for dinner. I get home from work, pull the box out of the freezer and open it.
The “personal pizza” (they’re usually the size of a salad plate) was size of a bagel. I burst into tears and I remember telling my husband that if I could eat that much and be satiated? I wouldn’t need fucking JC in the first place!
I quit that day.
Because it isn’t diet food. Their moto is all about strictly portion control. It disregards macros and proper nutrition. You can lose lots of weight eating JC but you won’t really ever lose body fat long term.
Once the ppl at Jenny Craig saw the bare brows, greasy pony and spider lash combo they clicked out of the video

My lymphedema was bad. Hospitalized 6ish times 2020-2022 for lower extremity cellulitis. It’s still bad, but effectively managed. Shout out to myself for staying out of the hospital since October 2022.
I remember the first time I was hospitalized in January 2020, for 24 days. I lost 45 lbs of water weight during my stay. My chest literally felt like a giant boulder was lifted off. My chest felt so light. I walked down the entire hospital hallway (maybe 75-100 feet) barely winded. I felt like my chest was floating down the hallway. My cardiologist asked me for 8 years if I had trouble breathing or heaviness of the chest. And I lied 16 times, telling her no. I just figured I was an extreme fatty who hadn’t voluntarily weighed themselves since 2012, I was 280 then. Heart attack in 2012, I was 33, immediately triggered severe depression. Quickly followed by hardcore BE for 8+ years. Next thing I know the scales at the doctor’s office are unable to read my weight. I thought because I was so heavy that’s why I was out of breath and sweating when I stood for more than a minute or walked more than 20 feet.
I started treatment for my legs in January 2020. Started taking a diuretic (some people call them water pills), pissing 24/7 for the last 4 years, to help remove “water weight”. Seeing a lymphatic physical therapist every six months to have my legs wrapped, basically squeezing that lymph juice upwards to the organs that matter to get it out of your system. After 5-10 days of leg squeezing I am measured for custom made medical compression stockings.
My calves at their biggest were 35 and 40 inches around, now both 21 inches. My Ankle was 22 inches, now 12 inches. My thunder thighs were 50 inches (gawd it’s shocking to say that) but they are now 32 inches (normal waist size for a male🫣 oooof). I’m still a fatty, but actively losing. Down to 380lbs from 553lbs. Most importantly my legs are under control and I am actively treating my “water weight” everyday.
Amber, I watched my Dad die from heart failure due to his uncontrolled lymphedema May 2023. His legs were huge, much larger and lumpier than mine and his feet were grossly swollen and bright red. I don’t know if I ever weighed more than him. We def had the same body type. I could have been his body double, with boobs. He basically drowned, his heart wasn’t strong enough to pump any lymph juice out and he made zero attempts to pursue the many Veteran’s Association (VA) medical treatment plans offered to him. That’s one of the reasons why folks with lymphedema are breathing so hard. We’re basically drowning and the lymph juice is compressing our heart and lungs. I’m hoping you guises can tell by my medical vernacular, I’m def not a doctor. I just see them all the dang time.
Currently, my walking personal best is 3 miles and standing for 8 hours. I just now stopped having panic attacks in public. I would obsess about how long I could have to walk or stand before sitting again. Even when you do find a place to sit, will it hold my weight and fit my morbidly obese body. Such a gross feeling. My bff and I were recently outside of a casino, having that special situation kind of vape molmenf. My friend kept motioning to the bench , “you can sit there, I’ll wipe it off, I can move the cup”. She knows how bad it’s been for me since 2012, she watched my health decline along with the almost 300lbs weight gain. It was so empowering to just smile at her and say, “nah I’m good”.

Amber, I’m just hoping you and others similar to us might read it. You have no idea how similar we are physically and mentally. Eerily similar birthday too, just add 11 years and 364 days. Rumor has it you don’t watch reaction channels or read their comments. On the off chance that you might, I’ll keep posting
I do not know you, but I’m really happy for you. I hope you are proud of what you’ve accomplished. You should be giving everyone hope that it’s not too late to change, and that lymphedema can be controlled with the right medical care and hard work.
Life is hard, and everyone has a story to tell. Just keep being positive and keep working hard at improving your health. You ARE lucky, because you can become healthier, whereas someone fighting cancer or neuromuscular disease can only do so much to improve.

I just want to scream at her, “we don’t have to die this way!” 8 years ago if someone told me something about my weight, I refused to hear it. Ffs I had just died from a freaking heart attack and was resuscitated on the 6th attempt. The only thing I heard were the voices in my head asking me why did you get to live? I sure af didn’t see it. But sh!t this might be it, ARL taking her lymphedema seriously.
I’m proud of you and your journey. You’ve faced a lot of tough, scary shit and you’re still here, kicking ass. Good on you. ❤️

It seems like a lot of sugar and
carbs, but it could have worked on someone like Amber. You still get to eat everything, and the food is something you're pretty much used to. But I do agree with your point that she wants to satisfy every craving, and nothing else will do. I always remember that time they went to a salad bar, and she complained that it was so hard to eat the salad - which was mostly pasta and croutons - because she wanted Chinese food.
I saw someone say “amberlynn really only eats with front teeth” and I can’t stop thinking about that…
Now, I don’t meal prep nor do I know much about it but would you really meal prep garlic bread? Seems to me like it wouldn’t keep that well. 🤷🏼
