James Clavell directed from his own screenplay, which was based on E. R. Braithwaite's 1959 autobiographical novel of the same name.
The film's title song "To Sir with Love", sung by Lulu, peaked at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States for five weeks in the autumn of 1967 and ultimately was the best-selling single in the United States of that year. I watched " To Sir With Love" while pursuing my diploma in education at college about 2007 and ever since I was fascinated with the film and Sidney Poitier's movies . He was an exceptional actor .
I was just going on 10 when this movie was out I love this movie and the song To Sir With Love. Great cast and movie perfect.

Undoubtably a great movie and I was lucky enough to see it at that time. Big however! Lulu is the greatest fail of this stream as good as the movie is It the to sir with love Title song by Lulu that made it a great and memorable one. Shame you missed it!

Apart from Sydney Poitier, who I met as a first year teenager, 13, when he was doing a movie at Pinewood Studios, which my Dad was in, I remembered Lulu was in this movie and bc she was a young Pop Star, sang the lead song for the movie, and that I liked her and saw at a concert in a cinema theatre in London, a couple of years earlier.

I once in a while will watch this movie. It gives me such a warm feeling a good feeling of the good ole days ! I was blessed to be born in 56 cuz living in the 60s 70s etc... were the best years of my life ! Whenever life gets me down and depressed I'll watch the shows of yesteryear and pretend I'm back in those wonderful years again! Where life was easier , people kinder, and the quality of life was so much more appreciated and loved! Then the invasion of certain people who came started nothing but fights. , theft . People moved away and the destruction of our beautiful country went down the tubes. Even worse Biden steals the election and further destruction of our country by letting 18 million illegal aliens that gets EVERYTHING FOR FREE! While we are suffering!
