In this video, we dive deep into the current crisis, from the shocking sales figures to the controversial buyout offers for employees. Plus, we take a close look at the sky-high prices Stellantis is asking for their vehicles-prices that may be driving customers away. Don't bail them out. Make Stellantis sell Chrysler back to the Chrysler family. Mr. Rhodes wants to rebuild what his great grandfather started and Stellantis destroyed.
Rhodes has less money, no plan, no cars and if the production values of his video is anything to go by isn't in a position to do anything. If he was in a position to do anything he would be on the phone, not UA-cam.
@@stanwbaker And yet Chrysler would be in the hands of someone that wants it to succeed, not someone that hates it and works to destroy it like Stellantis.
@@rogerrussell9544 It takes quite a lot more than well intended wishes to get a large industrial company out of the hole. When the world's most successful automakers are forbidden from buying the old ChryCo plants out of bankruptcy, it's done. Stellantis NA may as well Chapter 11 today.
@@stanwbaker Would you have cheered Lee Iaccoca if he had been installed to destroy the company?
@@rogerrussell9544 The Dutch are doing everything they can to get the North American plants and business relationships ready to sell. And that absolutely means dissolving relationships with predatory dealerships as possible. Lee iacocca did destroy the company. After which it greelike a Phoenix especially after adopting AMC's processes. Then 1998 happened. You can feel good about an American tradition continuing even though customers are rare. Or we can have Bramalea, Jackson Heights, Toledo and so forth working three shifts to build cars the mass market wants to buy at a price the mass market wants to pay. There are container ships just offshore stuffed with cash ready to double the Chrysler workforce to make the cars the market is demanding. The brands will be the first to go.
Stellantis needs to realize you can't sell a 40K Truck for 100K same for Ford and GM and Toyota
I try not to spend more than 25,000 on a vehicle.
@@jeffmacey6482 Me too
@@jeffmacey6482best you can get is probably the lowest spec Corolla
@@jeffmacey6482well ur not gonna get a truck for under 25k, hasn’t been like that in decades
I want a ford transit van but I’m not paying $40,000+ for an empty cargo van.
The money shouldn’t be given up to companies who can’t make affordable vehicles lol
The Biden administration is all for middle class families until a failing business model starts failing
Why are we bailing out a foreign company?
They are not
Stellantis and almost every car manufacturer has seen sales slow as people have finally realized they were over paying thanks to inflated interest rates and msrp
That's what I was thinking. It's now foreign owned.
Never mind the fact that the entire USA is foreign owned
@@diegoharo7943 "The company headquarters is in Hoofddorp, Netherlands." Wikipedia
Here lies the problem. They are far too intertwined into social media culture. Real people just want decent performance in quality product. They see all these online things catering to kids and wild adults doing dumb stuff, then doubled down on it. SRT trim charger was around $50k once. Now, they are closer to $90k. It's insane to pay that much for a vehicle that can be stolen so easily.
Actually right !! They know what they’re doing about people stealing dodge/chrysler products for years and never change the alarm mechanisms. But for that price of a car is ridiculous stupid if people gonna steal them so easily, I want to get a dodge charger but too worried for someone to steal it.
My 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 was $51K. I still have the window sticker in the car. A scat pack is $75K now. The SP Charger and challengers should be $50-60K depending on options. $75K for a Hellcat seems reasonable.
Exactly why is the government pissed . What do car dealers do for them anyhow . You can bail out companies that gauge our pockets but you can't help your own citizens as you yourself would rather care about new people into the country 🤨
yea well if the government is pissed with car dealerships people are pissed off with the government it goes 50 50 on that front but eh its the government they can do whatever makes me sick honestly
What a stupid administration. “Here’s some money, build some trash EVs no one wants”
They deserved it when they shut down production of the Hellcat Charger and Challengers.
Shutting down Charger and Challenger was for the good of blacks. Now they'll stop stealing cars so much
They’re still sitting on lots, that’s their problem
Stellantis was required to pay $128 million in fines for the 2016 through 2017-year HEMI engines that didn't meet the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) new standards. The 2018 through 2019 HEMI's also failed to meet regulations, costing Stellantis another $235 million in fines. The democrat government doesnt want big V8s.
The government didn’t help them there.
Who cares. Is not like anyone buys those cars. They get stolen most of the time 😂
They are all over priced no matter what brand
why bale out BAD management & GREED
They get what they deserve. They have been hell bent on selling crap to an audience that doesn’t exist and not improving on what their audience wanted.
Bring your prices down and people will buy. You are marking these vehicles 25 and 30k up in price and you see you are keeping them on your lots.
If you want to sell them, MARK THEM DOWN or KEEP THEM AND GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!! Mark all your vehicles down 40 to 50% and they will sell.
But but then the rich c suite level and investors can’t get their yachts. :(
Dirt bags.
When I was in high school, it was difficult to customize a Jeep Wrangler to $22,000. If you told me that they would cost an obscene $70,000 by 2024, I'd have laughed at the mere thought of that. Well, look where we are now...
@@largol33t1
When I graduated a Jeep wrangler with every option offered was just barely over $12,000
I'm a RAM owner (5th consecutive RAM). They are beginning to price me out of their market.
Five trucks in five years
I bought a 2019 Ram 1500 (new body style) in June of 2019. Just bought a well used 2013 Wrangler Sport for a toy. No way in hell I could afford to buy a new... anything.
Not to be snarky but you might try keeping one for a while !
@@johnschofield9496 I lease and that works for me. The point being is that they are not offering the incentives and are increasing prices to the point that even those that are or have been loyal to the brand are finding it increasingly difficult to continue in that practice.
Why am I giving money to a company that is focused on vehicles I can't afford nor would want if I could.
I sold rams for a little while in 2020 and it took me two weeks jumping through hoops to get a wealthy couple to buy a $75,000 ram 1500 just to make 250 bucks on the deal. These trucks are several overpriced. It was a miracle I ever got a signature.
Truth is no one wants to spend the average American salary on a vehicle with under average reliability
Why give them a billion dollars to save EV plants when the real problem is low demand.
And don't forget, the stealerships are pricing everything to the skies. Who wants to pay $65,000 for a stupid Jeep that has reliability issues because of crappy design issues??
Dealer mark up is not going to Stelantis. That is the stealership's bullshit.
EVs wouldn't be worth it if they were free
It's simple, really. Build affordable vehicles that are reliable. The rest will take care of itself.
Just remember, that money that the government is paying to help them is taxpayer money, so even though you aren't buying their product, you are still helping their business by paying taxes.
I love my Jeep, but the current wranglers and Gladiators are about $20k overpriced across the board and the few people I know who were willing to pay their prices were immediately disappointed with build quality issues. You can't increase prices while cutting quality and expect things to work out long term.
Perfectly sums it up!
It's the Disney model.
EVERYTHING is overpriced. Even Honda Civics are selling for an obscene $48k in my state. The average price of a GMC Canyon, which isn't even a V8 full size pickup is a despicable $46K with NO options installed. They can let those sit for all I care. I have spent over a year and a half searching for a new car and have given up. Last November was a first for me: they stone cold refused to have winter clearance sales and refused to negotiate anything. What are they doing? They send their cars to a massive overflow lot in Michigan and bring in the 2024 models. A few stealerships have been caught lying about the advertised car. When the customer shows up, they tried to fool them into thinking the '23 model was a '24 model!
Ever since I heard and read the news about Stellantis acquisition of the American 3... it was a given obvious that they were going to jack up prices for profit margins that eventually backfired on them. U.S.A. ruling government is also a dumbass for doing a bailout for the sake of the brand names which will resulted in additional MSRP increases- gov't never should've done that.Stellantis is about making money for themselves - that's why the brands MSRPs increased. All their $3k-$5K discounts, are penny discounts that will basically just pay a portion of interest whether you lease or finance.Let Stellantis suffer and sell the brands back to the previous owners so the brands will go back to their affordable prices
As a Jeep owner, I'll definitely look elsewhere if this greedy price gouging continues. However due to poor reliability and durability from other domestic brands I just can't remain faithful to buying from American brands. So modt likely I'll go with Toyota, Honda, or Mazda. We have to admit that These Japanese brands have a superior moral and working ethics, also their culture in building cars, SUV'S, and trucks, has shown that they constantly have build better products that the domestic brands. No more American brands for me Sorry I just don't trust them with my hard earned cash. 😢
Same here, that's why I recently bought a 20 year old Suburban. None of the ridiculous gimmicks, just a solid, very reliable car that can easily be serviced, you don't need a degree from MIT to work on the electrics, and it will last much longer than MANY of the 2024 models on the lots today. Yes, it really does LOVE gasoline, but that's a worthwhile tradeoff for a virtually lifetime vehicle.
I worked as a lift operator making jeep tops, just got the letter yesterday, I turned back around put in a vacation day for the remaining work day and cashed the rest of my money in so i have a boost next check, jobs are already being affected
Why the fuck would my tax dollars bail out a car company who made cars I can't even fucking afford?
same question you should ask about the hundreds of billions of our tax dollars going toGr!ftersLikeIsraelAndUkraine?
@@horseathalt7308completely agree on all 3
So tired of these bail outs taxpayers should not pay for bad business decisions just wtf.
I feel sorry for unwitting folks who purchase these brands.
That's their fault for not doing some research. The Internet tells a LOOOOOOOOOOOT of info that the stealership won't...
As cold as this might get I’m glad. It’s a wake up call for all auto makers that people aren’t stupid and are not going to be absurd prices for mediocre cars that can’t last 5 years without some sort of issues
Stellantis vehicles are just getting worse and worse, their prices are getting higher and higher, while their quality is going down lower and lower, all while their customers are leaving in droves, so thw government has to bail them out while executives make MILLIONS for driving their company into the ground, and all while making EVs that nobody wants. Where have I seen this before?
Gm?
Ev are not practical unless you are driving less than a 100 miles a week..stop making them!…I like the dodge ram..but sadly you are right even a bare bones model will still be very close to 40.000 dollars…
80k plus for a truck that'll be rotted out 5 years after purchasing it.
They're asking more for a work truck than I paid on 50 acres 3 years ago in NY right up the road from Micron.
So it turns out that if you sell increasingly worse products at luxury prices while neglecting the desires of your customer base you'll lose money? Shocking!
I say let them succeed or fail on their own merits.
Not only has Stellantis mismanaged the finances of CDJR their quality is in an abyss of sewage. Trust me I know. Not only am I a plumber but I own a 2018 RAM 2500 that I bought CPO. Since 80,000 miles it’s had:
2-Major transmission services. One was a complete rebuild.
2- Brake Boosters
1-Cam and lifters
I bought the extended warranty thankfully but the booster was not covered the first time. Now they tell me it needs an Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) at 99,000 miles. They want $1400 to fix that. Word to the wise. Should you buy o e of these trucks get some sort of extended warranty or you will regret it.
100k for a vehicle that I already know would have issues before high mileage lol
thats not 106k out the door that the sticker price, you need to add the dealer markup of another 20k ..then tax on top of that making that truck 150k
For some reason, successful businesses, don't seem to remember basic profit.... As long as they selling for profit, they wouldn't be in this problem.... But, because of greed, they're creating their own problems 🤦🏾♂️
Not greed, a communist death cult ideology. They have to sacrifice their companies to the death cult or they won't get invited to parties and will be called names. They should all be sued for violation of their fiduciary duty and Blackrock should be broken up into 20 different companies.
Dodge Chrysler Jeep and ram all need to be returned to America. There are brands. The government is needs to stop bailing them out so they can keep shoving electric cars down our throats.
Don't use tax dollars for foreign companies
Chrysler and dodger made in Canada. And Jeep is the only American company that actually makes their cars in America, think about the next time you buy a Ford or Chevy made in Mexico
@@RespecttheZ NOPE. You know nothing about Jeep. Almost 30% of the Cherokee is made in Mexico. It's hardly an American made SUV. I used to own a 1991 version and it was unbelievable how many times you see "hecho en Mexico" stamped inside the interior and under the hood. Even the GLASS was Mexican made. Very low quality. Some parts didn't line up and even the center arm rest didn't close properly.
@@largol33t1 Congratulations you owned a 35 year old product built during one of the companies worst profitable and worst manufacturing times. I've experienced plenty of mid 90s jeeps and quality control was always poor. Did you have a JOOP like I did, But cheap parts and simple design made them easy to fix and a beat-able off road toy, but even as you said 70% of parts are manufactured in the USA today with assembly happening in Ohio & Michigan, that much better then any other "domestic" car company like Ford employeing Mexicans rather then true Americans but profits mean everything for an $90,000 princess truck with 30k mark up, listen up old man if Honda nissan, and Toyota all have assembly plants in the us then why should Ford or Chevy have there boots licked
No bail out for companies that are deliberately making and pricing vehicles that are "price leaders". This greed means that the company's should restructure and make vehicles people can afford.
I’m glad I have an older challenger. Makes me sad the direction they’re going these days.
I sold a super bee scat pack 10-15 over sticker. Ended up being mid 80’s out the door. 3 months later
Trade in value with no miles garage kept was only $50k lol
Ram prices on regular trucks are the same as Chevy and Ford. Car prices are the same also. The Hellcats are niche vehicles. Remember the Fed money was for EVs production. Goodbye Dodge, Goodbye Ram, Goodbye Chrysler, Goodbye.
I wish I could buy a company, make the worst business decisions all for greed. Then when my company fails. Just steal $billions for a different countries tax payers. Then repeat every 16 years as needed.
They got greedy, dodge never developed a good economy car for the masses and they never made an ev to justify their v8s. They should of milked the hellcats used some of the money to make an eco car that worked and a crossover that didn’t suck, then used that revenue to maybe bring back the viper or develop a different hellcat to keep fan favorites
It’s wild that after Covid companies think everyone just adjusted right back and everyone is making even more when I feel most cases people make less and things are only going up.
I say get rid of the middle man and we buy cars from the manufacturer.
It won't do shit. Go to any website and try to configure a car for yourself. They will not let you pick and choose. Everything is in overprice "bundles." Want that $1,000 sunroof? You have to get "lane collision" and "parking assist" with it. The website won't let you delete them. This drives up the price another $2,500. Want new wheels? They force you to get a "sport package" and that boosts the price $3,000. It can't be done. I've tried with three different brands including GMC. They are all doing it INCLUDING the Japanese brands.
How about the government stop bailing out big companies. They're a big company for a reason, they should have a business plan for stuff like this. If they fail that's on them.
I've never been happier that I learned how to work on my own... My newest one is 2004 and I don't see that I should ever need anything newer.
Well how are people going to afford those cars and a monthly payment over 700 a month plus insurance, when food prices are ridiculous
Stellantis should be allowed to fail.
Forced
Never heard a story of a city or group of people get a billion dollar bail out
It’s all part of the plan. Harley is next.
Not Next, Gone.
I have always bought ROM 1500 but I need a truck for work. I don’t need a new super max cockpit in my truck. It’s a work truck. I don’t need all the fancy LED light the fancy gauges all that stuff put it aside and get back to making truck and stop the bullshit That happened when you hire these guys and put them in charge they don’t understand so they destroy the brand who wants to be $100,000 for 1500 truck. I’m in Canada and normal every three years. I’ll change my truck. I can’t afford it anymore. These donkeys are still making trucks, like a fighter plane cockpit enough
I needed new vehicles this year.. after searching the market I found it to be cheaper to buy a rare classic truck with low miles and then import a car from Japan! Not only was it wayyy cheaper buying those too vehicles than buying 1 new one it's also way more fun to drive those old vehicles than the new ones 😂
Had a great longtime customer who owns 2016 grand Caravan.
This year $1400 evaporator core.
$1100 oil filter housing.
And the transmission just went out. $4500
So a 8yo minivan needs $7K a year!!!
that doesn’t include oil change or tires.
For $130K might as well buy a used Lamborghini urus for $40K more
No one wants EVs , we want 1000 plus horsepower hellcats
All auto brands are out of control. Including used vehicles sold by private sellers. It’s a shame.
I saw 2 year old GMC pickups selling for only $4K less than a brand new one. Despicable. The nation is heading for a recession no matter what the lying media claim. The auto industry can't sustain itself on low quality, overpriced vehicles. Serious question: would you pay $55K for a Ford F150 that has NO options? It doesn't even have power seats or nice wheels. That's what one stealership lot in my state looked like. 200 of the exact same pickup. The only difference was the color. The window stickers all showed they were the same and the average price was $55-60K. I could tell they were NOT selling. The lanes between the parked trucks were stuffed to the last inch with inventory and it overflowed into the customer parking lot! It's unbelievable this stealership hasn't gone under.
Not only the extravagant prices, but they have also turned into complete junk. Fact
They always say the Federal Government is bailing them out ,(whoever that may be), but in truth it us. The American Tax Payer who is bailing these failing Car Manufactures out, and the kicker is, we not only pay for the bailout. We also buy the damn cars at outrageous prices. Those of us that can afford to. Not me. I have an 08' no way can I afford a vehicle that is 6 figures.
I say let them crash. Maybe then they will sell their vehicles at a reasonable price, instead of screwing us over as they have been doing for years. They caused this. Let them fix it.
If corpos cant survive without being bailed out then we need to let them fail. Bad buisness practices should not be benifittal and the money they are giving should go to paying the laid off employees
I personally believe two things would help if not solve this issue with a Chrysler/Government bailout like what happened in the early 2000s. The first being we return Automotive Manufacturer jobs to America and secondly let Chrysler be independent
This reminds me of Solyndra, the solar panel manufacturer that the government gave billions to inorder to stay afloat! They had solar panels coming out of their rear ends and had no where to store them so they had to pile them up in a warehouse!
So will all these battery vehicles end up the same as Solyndra solar panels before they go completely belly up??!!!
At least for the time being, Ram and Jeep still have production of vehicles which are expensive but those expenses are for propping up these battery vehicles the government are forcing them to make but can't sell!!!
There is no reason why Ram and Jeep couldn't be successful again ! ! !
Oh and dont forget the build quality and the hemi tick
Nice to know my taxes are still going towards a new car wether I want one or not
no one is buying E.V 's so lets make more heres a billion party on ..
You never mentioned the egregious quality issues. Once you know who owns stellantis, it all makes sense.
No corporate bail out.... what about common ppl bailout
People say prices coming down?? Sure don’t see it at local CDJR dealer. Stellantis trying the stupid path set by Carlos Tevaris the bean counter. Make bigger profit from fewer sales instead of volume but obviously not working since no one can afford their crap. Am retired disabled Vet & my income sure can’t cut it.
One thing they could do is reconsolidate RAM back into Dodge.
If they lowered their prices, people would buy Ram's more. But no, they'll keep charging more because "fuck them kids".
I make poor financial decisions. Where’s my bailout 😂
They should definitely not get any help. Besides all the new problems they have never addressed old ones. Like the only modern American v8s that you won't see at least 300000 miles with routine maintenance.
I was a Chrysler Master Tech for 20 years. It's so sad seeing all this. Electric cars are garbage and all manufacturers need to STOP making them.
Stop making new cars and trucks until we have sold the back stock, most manufacturing and automated not many jobs will be lost, but the money isn't there anyway to pay out, it's all debt with a side of debt, and don't forget the (tax) on all parts ands sells. And then tax it again.
all this because of a canon event with a foreseeable future that could've been prevented
Jeep Cherokees were $35,000 all day long in 2019
Just purchased a 2024 Grand Cherokee Laredo, loaded, 4X4 for $32,000 out the door, tax, title, tags. It stickered at $45,700. They ARE dropping prices in a big way and moving the '24 models out. An awesome vehicle at a very reasonable price. No, it's not stuffed with all the ridiculous bells and whistles, but it's awesome just the way it is.
As a first time view, im having difficulty understanding what you say with the music so loud. Never had to was a yt vid with closed captioning on until now
Stelantis need to call the WEF and ask for a refund
Reliability is not there for what they are charging
Humm…..$28k for a Toyota Camry and a bunch of vacations, or 6 figures for one of these vehicles. Not a hard choice! Bye bye
They definitely could've made the hornet cool but decided not too
I’m tired of seeing American companies fail
They need to fire their managers but they won't. That's the problem.
Wranglers costing about as much as an aston martin
Some ones greed and there is a lot of some ones that has destroyed them greed is there fault have not bought from them in 35 years it's on them
I think we should all support the used market against this nonsense for the next 3 to 4 years, until the Stellantis brass finally pulls their heads out of their 4th point of contact.
It's a good thing they discontinued the ram classic which was their only affordable work truck to focus on 120,000 pieces of shit that no moron could afford anyway goodbye Dodge ram Jeep
For that amount of money, I can get a luxury vehicle like Caddillac or Lincoln or BMW.
Didn't we the people say no more bailouts. The automotive industry was saved once with tax dollars. They then bailed on the U.S. and left Detroit a mess and all jobs were still lost. Tax dollars bailed out the airline industry. The airline industry then raised prices across the board.
As an American, I’d rather have $200 give them back to me in federal tax at the end of the year, then bail out a auto maker
I'll stick to what i have been doing. Buy used private party. Dealership like to mark up anything and everything too high
As the Green Goblin... i am so glad I made my hovercraft, the "Goblin Glider". 😂😂 Screw these poorly made expensive vehicles.
Aren’t a lot of dodges made in Mexico where they get paid way less why the high mark up
Sell jeep to ford or GM and fold the rest up.
FORD DID NOT TAKE GOV. MONEY SO DO NOT INCLUDE FORD, THOSE ATHER COMPANIES ARE GUNK
ill gladly take a ram or chevy 4500 for free if they come up because I need a new towing truck bc my old towing truck gave up but with 600k miles i wasnt surprised
also that truck he showed at 5:19 isnt even the most expensive one Ram offers, and I can get a 3500HD with Z71 and in LTZ for 80k from chevy and it will give me far more luxuries
Damn it’s time to buy foreign again
Maybe have the billionaire ceos and bail there own company our instead of the tax payers
6:13 - to some people might as well be 1 million.
Why wouldn’t you want to bail them out? Why keep billing cars like the odd and Maseratis that nobody here would buy unless there are mentally and stable
