I have an old cabelas xxl outfitters cot. After talking to Teton I found out they actually made it for cabelas I’ve had it since 2010 and it’s still running strong. I’m getting my son a Teton xxl cot this year.
Thanks for posting both Part 1 and 2. I was looking to buy a new cot to replace my old Slumberjack XL cot and I was down to these 2. This was really helpful.
at 12:08, you can see a small bracket with a hook on the long frame, that needs to connect onto the to the big screw on the leg, you will see way less movement after connection.
@@BTROutdoors Great review! Hope to see your next video about adding a tent to the cot. The comparison of these 2 different cot manufacturers is very interesting. Kai Lu's comment about the other small bracket helping to make the Cabela Cot more stable would definitely be worth revisiting; if you make another video with the tent add on? The noise difference while moving around on the cot at night is another important consideration for some people out there. Do you think the Teton companion tent for their cot, would also fit the Cabela's cot?? Looking forward to your next installment on this head to head comparison of the Cabela's vs Teton. Both look like very solid options as far as cots go. Some people might like that all steel 'built like a Ford" construction in the Cabela's cot? Plus, the Cabela's lever arm does appear to have a slight advantage over the pivot arm. Hmmm? We just may have to call it a draw at the end of the day. In regards, to figuring out which one might be better. But I am hoping to choose one of the two cots in the Spring of 2021. God bless and keep enjoying the great outdoors.

Great review. I was torn between the two but I think the Teton seems the better of the two. Note that Teton does sell the topper for their models but they are a bit pricey but they do fit the cot with straps that attach to the cot. I will likely pull the trigger on the Teton XL simply to preserve floor space. Very helpful info....thanks.
Hi, I have a question. I lost the poles to my cabela Xl cot, and cabelas does not sell the poles separately. Teton does sell the poles, but im not sure if they'd fit. Could you tell me if the poles are interchangeable between the two?
i am not sure why your outfitter model is different. i have the outfitter xl model from 2018 and its 100% identical to the teton, red pivot arm and all. but i love the cot! i just need to get the pad that is made for it, as my other pads end up sliding all over the place

@@BTROutdoors i probably have a defect one because I have only used it about 4 times. I’m reaching out to Teton to see if they can help. But other than that, I really do love the cot. I’m finally able to go camping without waking up with my back hurting.

I have the Teton combo cot/tent and I love it, don’t forget to get the other longer rainfly from their site, if it rains the rainfly that comes with your tent won’t work. I also have the organizer and the storage hammock from Teton, helps things organized, at hand and dry off the ground. I love mine and my dogs fit well since I’m 5’4”. I highly recommend it, so comfortable, the only con is that there are no pockets in the tent, thus getting the organizer is very helpful.
Is the Teton cot itself as compact as Cabelas? And just the bags are different? What I mean could you put the Teton in the cabelas bag if you wanted to? Reason i ask cause I’m planning on buying the whole tent set up and I’m strapping it all on the back seat of my Harley.
Looks like it will do a domino effect, if you weigh 300 pounds it might rock from top to bottum, and might fall, idk, but looks like it's so high it might fall towards your head. I'm looking for a good cot , but I want one handle my 280 pounds lol

I want to see people turning over, shifting weight, actually putting the cot to true strength tests. If your scared your gonna mess up a $160.00 cot, then you don’t trust the manufacturers warranty to replace it if you mess it up.
