I'm here now for my confession. After I let a kid start up my Kodiak for fun, it later refused to start. I checked everything - connections, switches, fuses, battery, grounds, relay, even regulator. NO LUCK. Then I sat on the quad and tried to remember what he might have done while sitting on it. Then I discovered a very small button I NEVER KNEW EXISTED under the starter switch - the engine kill switch. So after replacing the solenoid and almost submitting to a mechanic for help, I found the problem. The kid had hit that button by accident I never knew it. I told my wife I had finally found a loose plastic wire connector, so we'll leave it at that.

I did the something similar to someone else. After riding it, I hit the kill switch and then turned the key off. He always used the key only and didn't even know it had a kill switch.... oops!

Why does the "Needle" have numberous slots on the end? And what is the significance of placing the clip in the middle groove? And, what kit did you use? I have the exact same carb. Thank you so much for this video!

I saw on a video the other day that those adjust how rich or lean the carb is, place the clip in whatever groove yours originally was in. my 96 kodiak is on the second from the top setting.

What kit did you use? I have a 97 400cc and have tried (2) ZoomZoom cards with the same result, don't idle correctly.
