I always wonder ya know, like what have I gotten myself into sometimes when I flip a old quad or atc. The key is to always tell myself I'm just going to clean it up a little and maybe paint the wheels, racks if necessary. Then start to go through everything else 😆. Not necessarily restoring I don't call it, but more of a freshen up, which just depends alot on what it is you're working with obviously. When you get it done though, and get to enjoy it a while it's always worth it every single time. Usually always at the very least triple if not quadruple the return, on say a $300 to $500 machine. The very best ones though are when you pay a hundred bucks or less, do ya thing to it and end up selling for $1500+ or sometimes more, with no more than 4 to 5 hundred dollars in parts and tires.
Always feels good to keep one on the road, the classics you know. The last one I did was 83 big red ATC, nobody would have known it was the same machine. Anyhow always a rewarding feeling , especially when the buyer appreciates your work, if they ask I tell all. Better yet though is when they can't tell or would guess you'd done anything but wash it up and put it for sale 😎 .✌️

I know it’s 3 years later but do you by chance still have that mikuni carb you said 20 quid for?

I have a 97 Yamaha kodiak 400 4x4 and I don’t see very much people with it, and it won’t start. It’ll make a weird connection sounding noise and I’m pretty sure it’s not the battery as the light will turn green and the lights turn on. But idk I thought it was the starter solenoid but we got a new one and it still won’t start.

I think that was me asking questions about the big bear carb I cleaned out the factory carb and took of the chinese one its running better. it looks different then the one your showing it doesn't have the extra linkage in the trottle cable compartment area. and the top looks different. I"m its a 1999 yamaha big bear 350. problem I'm having it with idling nicely its okay once warm but fussy when cold it loves half choke for like 20 mins. any chance you know what these big bears air fuel mixture like to be set at. also have a weird issue after riding hard when I shut it off like 2 seconds after I hear a puff sound from the muffler tip

What holds the front cargo rack on to the frame? I have taken the front push bar off but can’t seem to get the cargo rack free from the frame

At the moment I've got a waiting list from previous customers etc for certain bikes so not to many get advertised. When they are advertised they go everywhere on the internet Facebook eBay etc
