Carlos has to trim his beard a bit shorter for some upcoming work. This Brio Beardscape trimmer showed up at the right time. The quality on this trimmer is amazing.

The Method:
Start with the sides. Go with the hair to take out some of the weight, bulk and the wispy hairs. Be sure to keep the edge of the guard against your face. To take the length off the front with the same guard rest the edge of the guard against your chin. This will help keep the proper angle to your beard.
For the neck trim you can get the perfect stubble look using the integrated 1.0 to 1.9 mm blade height adjustment and move shorter.

What's with all the hate on this 'bideo'. When you pause the video at the end and at the start you can clearly see that there is a clear difference in the sides of his beard. Furthermore, he is trimming his beard by himself at home. He is not doing a crazy make-over, literally just tidying up the beard a little tiny bit.

Dude showed me exactly what I needed to know. Spent most of my life just clean shaving but the past year I've grown it out. Unfortunately I'd fuck up the trimming every time I did it myself. So I went to barber's for a while but then they would fuck it up too every now and then. So I wanna learn to do it myself. This video is what I wanted, just a clean up.

The manual for my beard trimmer says to go against the direction of growth of the beard. Starting from the bottom and moving up. But I’ve tried starting up and moving down and to me it seems much better than what the manual says. Maybe it does not cut as much but the result is a fuller beard that is trimmed at the edges and just looks better.
Step one: Have a perfect beard.
Step two: You’re done.

Well, Carlos lives in London, so it's a British accent plus the dialect of where he grew up and a mix of how his parents sounded.
Peter, soo true. To me (no English native) there are traces of a Scottish, Irish, American and Hispanic accent in it.

Guys. Try with the highest setting on your trimmer first. It's not because Carlos says 6mm you need to do it at 6mm too. I use a Wahl trimmer with 10mm(Guard 3) to the sides while combing along the grain like he does and 13mm(Guard 4) for the goatee. Be visual, use the TECHNIQUE he is showing but the guard number or length would vary according to your beard. Again, be visual!

@11:00 the bulk on the sides were visibly reduced, i guess after the 7/8/9 min mark, thats were it happens, but most of the vid is very sensitive light chiseling of the beard

Comment section is gold - I fuck up my beard every time I try to trim it with clippers - you pretty much just have to cut it right down to the No.8 setting, there's no fucking workarounds to it 🤣 I think if you want a long beard - just go to a barber to get it trimmed, or deal with the No.8 clippers.

Carlos, your beard shape is easy to trimm and handle but for me as a patchy beard type it's way harder to trimm without losing the dense cheek hair (Not to mention that it grows wildly in every direction which makes it more wierd).

Comb it straight down and only trim the very edges

If anyone is having trouble just look up "fade" Hair cuts.. you're basically doing the same thing if this is the look you are going for.. you're fading your beard into your sideburns and giving your face a compliment with its shape. Some people have a rounded face, like me, so the beard looks very weird when its just growing everywhere. The next problem is with people that just don't have enough facial hair, like me, to grow a nice beard. Good luck everyone and nice video Beardbrand. Don't forget the neck and cheek hairs, if you trim these you can create a nice jaw line effect.. just don't over do it.
I was just trying to figure out your accent through the whole thing… Sometimes it sounded British sometimes it sounded South African other times it sounded Italian or maybe Hispanic… Regardless, great video and thank you, I prefer the edges of my beard to be a little cleaner but that’s just me. use trimmers rather than scissors starting with a higher number so thing wont go wrong, and even if it does man those are hairs and they grow so dont worry so much, we have a lot of other thing in life that we already worry about

I loved where you took it to the second shorter length. Looks nice and full. But let’s say we don’t like a bushy long stache. Any tips how to clean up the stache where it doesn’t have that annoying line cut above lip? But still full. Like a Baylan Skoll beard/stache.

You have amazing beard genetics. My beard is mostly blonde but with a red stripe where you have some grey. I’m finding it very difficult to grow one that looks as good as yours. Whenever I trim it I end up fucking it up. I even shaved it all off a year ago because it wasn’t growing the way I wanted it to.

Yeah, if you like gross scraggily unhygienic looking beards. Trust me bro, women do not find untreated beards attractive. If you comb it, clean it, keep it trimmed to the beard is equal length. It comes together nicely. Trimming a beard actually makes it look more dense and full too.

I want a thick but neat beard. If I don't trim it, I look like a woodchuck within a week and like gandalf in two. People who don't trim their beards usually have so little growth they need every little bit.

Carlos and Greg have such great beards. Mine doesn't grow as thick as that so I can't really trim as much into the face without it losing the shape.

He is Portuguese. He is picking up accents from the people from his social group. Happens often with non native speakers in any language as they haven't developed a true accent while learning ti at a young age.

If your mustache/beard is covering your lips and for the most part growing into your mouth what is the point ? Girls do not want a mouthful of facial hair when they are getting a little "lippy". Moreover, if you are eating anything that isn't liquid through a straw you are going to be wearing it in your new napkin mustache. I don't understand the beard guys that have the Chewbacca look. I'm 19 and my beard isn't patchy but isnt done growing. I mean growing as in I know its getting thicker and longer each month but the cheeks are still filling in. I know they are filling it because I can see hairs coming through but won't get super thick like this guy. I lost a ton of weight from 400 to 280 and my beard is way thicker like almost like his but my sides are still lacking. I know they will grow but will anything speed it up?
The cheeks are usually one of the last things to fill in so don't worry too much about that. To speed up the growth a little bit you can change your diet to include some more greens, exercise to increase testosterone, and comb/brush the area to stimulate the hair follicles.
