Corey is criminally underated as a Songwriter
100%....but that is the case with most non-mainstream genres unfortunately.
Is it a trend to call everyone underrated these days? I'd really like to know what people actually mean by that. What kind of recognition are they seeking for these artists and what would they consider "rated".
He does some AMAZING acoustic songs and covers. You should have a look. My 2 absolute favorites are "Wicked Games" and "Wild Horses"
Slipknot dropped Anders, and got Corey because they wanted a guy that could actually sing. It’s well documented, most people wouldn’t ever know, but most of slipknot are actually critical top flight/ world class musicians. Another thing so many people wouldn’t guess is that most metal artist are the most well versed in classical music.
I was a young man living in Des Moines back in those days. Went out to see live music every chance I got. I can say without a doubt that slipknot sucked in the beginning. If they had stuck with colsefni, they would have never been more than a joke of a bar band. Taylor is what brought them to the big time.
Back in the day, nobody thought these guys would make it. We all thought the band from Des Moines that would make it would be Smakdab. Taylor even guested on one of their songs. But then they fizzled out and Slipknot blew up...
Thank you so much. Corey lost a friend, one of Slipknot members, and that was a tough moment. He is very raw with his emotions, which is great for heavy metal. Also, you are such a fun person to watch :D thank you for your videos. Maybe react to some Avenged Sevenfold? Roman Sky on Grammy Museum is amazing.

There are few singers who can pour their soul into their performance and make you FEEL the song as much as you hear it, if not more. Corey Taylor is one of them.

I had really thought this was about their lost drummer, but apparently not! We’re “state-mates” ( Iowa/Nebraska). You do seem to like or be drawn to harder music or at least not shy away from it. Check out Sevendust Lajon is amazing. I think my favorite from them is Denial or Black. Thanks for the effort in posting Corey!

I'm army so seeing your videos on BTS, I've been completely invested in the channel lol. But finally subscribed (I know I know), after I saw this one. Was really interested in what you'd say about this because it's my all time favorite song from Corey....and it's the acoustic version. His voice to me is just amazing. So much variety!
I have a raspy voice when I talk but when I start singing it disappears, what cau ses this? Also great tip on the jaw movement! It really worked for me to get some tones I was looking for :)
