For what it's worth. I've been a "chess guy" since 1972. Fischer/Spassky etc..I love chess & I love to learn on UA-cam. You can use it to improve. You're the best on the internet. Hands down. If I could afford it I would pay serious $ to hang out with you & learn about my favorite game. Or maybe have an adult beverage.

I think a lot of what you “have a very hard time understanding” is simply a case of students backwards rationalizing their moves. In the that g6 pawn push they were trying to save their pawn… then after h4 they realized the pawn would fall and now they were happy to exchange queens at the cost of a pawn. They hadnt looked at that initially because they didn’t think it was necessary. So what they really meant was “darn it… I’m losing a pawn, but hey at least I can trade queens which is good”. Dunno if that makes sense.. All that being is said it AGAIN comes down to calculating better. Really LOVING these videos! They are pure gold. Your content is really amazing Andras. The key to viewership though is drama, clickbait etc. I watch all your videos but I suspect the titles aren’t inspiring to people who don’t know you. Just a thought.

What you say at 5:20 feels like a personal attack. I generally do this in every other walk of life, and now I will do this for my chess. Thank you, Andras, I needed to hear that.
Starting chess at 20 at 1300 rapid on lichess, I just crossed 2000, I've beaten a few 2200-2300 blitz players recently and I must say you've been such a pivotal force in my chess improvement, I must thank you very much! Internalizing much of your advice, from your center course to your development course and so on, the principles you hammer home have worked wonders for me. Hilarious, I once considered playing the Stonewall Dutch! Glad I got your message before then lol! I've still got much to learn, but assimilating your philosophy into my play will be a lifelong process no doubt, a joyful one at that! Thank you Andras!
My man, I know you're out here wanting the clicks and views but just know you are single handily helping many people become better chess players. The views and golden play button will come, you're helping people now though. No doubt about that. Disprove the right move not prove the wrong move. That's worth it's own video right there. Golden.
Hi Andras. You mention how you don't like Nc6 on move 5 because it blocks the c-pawn. However Nc6 seems a more commonly played option on move 4 according to the lichess masters database. Whats the difference here?
Hard to know without the prior moves, but it’s probably because they are preparing to castle queenside. Moving the c pawn doesn’t make sense in that case, and clearing the queenside pieces does
It’s interesting, more often than not (it seems) the problem isn’t lack of “chess” knowledge or understanding or ideas, but rather faulty reasoning and/or execution. A few times the student in this case knew what to do and not to do, but either mis-executed his plan or convinced himself to do otherwise. I find I do this, too. Something to be on guard for.
Excellent analysis with many Great insights, thanks Andras! I think many amateur players 'build their castle' on fundamentals they don't fully understand and would be wise to watch your videos!♟📺

Thanks mate. Appreciate your kind words. Sadly my viewership seems to stagnate at best...:(

Crush all openings with these three simple moves!
I'm so glad you're covering the exchange ; It's the most popular response on Lichess.
Thanks for your videos Andras. I think they're very helpful :)

Andras perhaps you can comment on the book titled "Play h6 in the French" ? LOL

Great analysis, do you take requests? and any advice for a 1600 fide :D
9:03 can’t u win a pawn with dxc4 bxc4 nxd4 nxd4 qxd4 bxh6 gxh6 qxe7 qxb2?
Ig after na3 defended by the queen it’s probably not worth it as the rooms are connected and ready to bully the queen to win some pawns on the 7th
