Honestly my biggest takeaways from this is that pestigors lose against their preferred targets but do surprisingly well against their counters, plague monks somehow beat armored cossars if they don’t get off the pistol fire first, plaguebearers somehow beat chaos dwarriors (GW), and longbeards are literally just chaos warriors but 100-150g cheaper depending on the flavor
GW Dawi variants are just not worth it in-vacuum nor in-context of a campaign or multiplayer battle: Axe and shield will outlast a fight and battles leading to them having more time to deal damage. GW variants would atleast require larger damage/melee attack/charge to be relevant.
@@godskitten49Not really, if your opponent brings alot of cheap to mid tier armored infantry (IE dwarf warriors) they are not only worth it but neccesary. In multiplayer that is.
I have no idea why you'd be surprised. Of course plaguebearer beat them? they would probably beat everything here. enormous melee defense, high weapon strength, physical resistance and the largest HP pool of any infantry in its class. Of course it dominantes the over costed chaos dwarf warriors. and AP isn't that useful against them they have light armor

Chaos warriors vs Dawi zharr warriors (5v5) 2 Dawi warriors + quarrelers vs Infernal guard (10v5) In the first, GW variant killed 380 to shielded's 330, but both lost, with GW losing 3 mins faster. In the second, GW died 2 mins faster and killed less than shielded (both lost ofc). In the context of what these units' roles are, as a tough to crack frontline you don't need to micro, then the shielded variants are the better AND more versatile choice, as other units in your roster/army will be the playmakers, your dawi warriors, corrupted or not, are there to buy time. Test it yourself if you wish, I thematically would want GW variants to be useful.
Well, that's a bit of a surprise... honestly, I thought the Poxgors would take it in the end; however, I guess this just goes to show that, one should NEVER underestimate the sheer stubboness & resilience of the Dawi!
the low MA means that the after the charge bonus is gone the Poxgors really struggle to land hits against the super high MD of the longbeards, given how low their armour is this also means the longbeards mostly non ap damage is almost entirely unimpeded, although I doubt it changes the end result the poxgors could try to cycle charge to keep their MA as high a possible
pestigors recieved an entirely unneccesary nerf in the last patch cutting their armor MA and raising their cost. really stupid change as they were not overperforming before
Chaos dawi are usually overpriced in their roster, chorf warriors being only 50 less than longbeards, but that's necessary since they have much more variety (and magic)
AP is wasted against Plaguebearers. And yes, the regular ones probably would have performed better, since defensive stats aren't wasted (see Longbeards).
kislev warriors bugged, shooting in melee rather than melee attacking. you can see them bug and just not attack because theyre trying to pull out their pistols.
@FerzenTotalWar oh no I dig that, I mean the ones in the front aren't attacking was the issue. Or maybe they're still doing damage, I can never tell which units damage is tied to animations.
CD GW need a melee attack buff. I think the pestigors would lose against the plaguebearers. A lot of these fights depends on where the gold investments are going. Against longbeards you would want high armour melee attack and ap.
The healthpool for Corsairs being so low with their current stats feels really weird in game 3, I get they served in that "fast but fragile" archetype but for the cost of only TWO less speed the Pestigors get 50% more health and AP!
Corsairs also pay for their dramatically higher melee attacks and extra bonus vs. infantry, but yeah there's definitely a little bit of powercreep going on there, not Akshina or Wrathmonger powercreep, but it's there.

I bet against the Longbeards 3 times and 3 times they proved me wrong. In TWW2 I remember my Longbeards letting me down a lot. /shrug
