Jetrro.. When i found out that tlou 2 came out and i found out joel died i hated this game. You are the online person i can watch play this game, your personality matches with mine. ITS LIKE WE IN THE SAME ROOM WITH THE SAME REACTION!! anyways i hate this game with all my heart because they killed joel.. Only watching it bc i love your channel bro. I hope Abby gets murdered slow.
Nah, I actually think it ended it perfectly cuz it set him up for such a great episode ( heartbreaking yes but I’m sure this episode will be great. I plan on watching it a little while)
Well hey hopefully next episode he gets to meet the most wholesome and one of the most underrated fighters in the whole last of us verse (my boy lev) am I biased, a bit but he’s probably my favorite npc besides Dina and Owen and he’s a menace
What makes Jett so unique is how he manages to invest himself so deeply into the story. He fully immerses himself into the emotions of the game, and for us the viewer its like we are experiencing everything for the first time along with him
I'm sorry, I couldn't give two shits about it. Why the FUCK am I supposed to care for the fucking villain that caused me so much pain? "Oh she had a nice father, she's human too"- bitch, every villain has a family and motives of their own, just that the ANTagonist's motives are against the PROtagonist's ones. If you want to make a villain somewhat relatable or understandable you set it up ahead of time, so that you can actually entrench yourself in the scenario and maybe even question your protagonist's motives, but forcing me to care through forced cutscenes and gameplay sections won't do it.
I absolutely love the subtext of that scene. Jerry knows, for them to succeed, he has to do it, but he also doesn't want to do it. Marlene doesn't want him to do it, but she also knows deep down, that he has to do it. Such good writing and such good acting between those two.
@@Arctis326I mean it wasn’t Joel who robbed her of her choice, it was the fireflies. Doesn’t make Joels actions better but the Fireflies were in the wrong for doing it that way too.
Absolutely. The problem is nobody put themselves in Abby's position, they don't care to understand both sides. If someone killed my father I would absolutely want revenge/justice. I don't give 2 shits about the person that took my dad's life and the reason why he did it.
@@LvLove518 Joel is just more logical. Like put yourself in his shoes for a second: I was told to do a job. Bring this immune girl outside the QZ, and get paid with lots of guns from the fireflies. And now I’m going on a wild goosechase after losing Tess to FEDRA, and now stuck bringing this girl across the country. Risking life and limb, constant near death experiences, and growing a close bond to said girl, who was originally just cargo. I didn’t even bring up his trauma with Sarah, which plays a giant part in all of this. Finally, after months and months of terror, we arrive at the destination. And what do I get? The shit beaten out of me immediately, my weapons stripped, and no guns. Pretty much told Joel “be happy we didn’t kill you and get out of here, plus we’re gonna kill Ellie” so I massacre the hospital. Get to Ellie. And this fuckin doctor wants to wave a damn scalpel at me?? I’m tired. I’m taking the girl. Sorry, but Joel was completely justified. They lied to him, beat him, and kicked him out across the country with NO weapons. He’s killed people for so much less. Abby can’t bitch and whine because her dad made a stupid move while thinking on his feet. Not to mention, this is going on 30 years in a worst-case scenario apocalypse, the world is gone. Society is GONE. A cure would just cause more death and warfare. Think about how much the fire flies were at war with FEDRA. Do you think all the FEDRA soldiers and their kids would be allowed to get the cure? What about the people in the FEDRA QZ’s? What about the pedophile rapist cannibals? Do they deserve to have a vaccine and slowly come back to normal society? This is clearly the way we live now. Rebuilding with the vaccine would take hundreds, and hundreds and HUNDREDS of years. Thinking there was a chance to go back was honestly ridiculous. And killing a 14 year old girl without her consent was not the way to go about it. I also don’t know what the hell Marlene was thinking. She had known Joel for years. She knew about his trauma with Sarah, and how close he would be with Ellie at this point after almost a year. Not even giving him a chance to say goodbye was so fucked up. The Fireflies, (including Marlene and Abby’s dad) completely brought it on themselves. No sympathy from me.
@@magiccheetos420 you must hate your father lol. There's no good vs bad in a world like that, Joel was not good, he was at one point like most of them but then everything went to hell. None of them were good. They all did what they had to do to survive. Your issue is you are not even attempting to see it from any other perspective than Joel's so of course you're going to say what you said. The difference is I can see and understand BOTH sides because I can put myself in both positions understanding both Joel and Abby. It's called empathy.
@@LvLove518 I grew up with a single father. I cherish my dad more than anyone in this world. What makes you say odd shit like that? We’re talking about fictional characters from a video game plot here. I wasn’t even being hostile
@@LvLove518 the difference is we played as Joel for an entire campaign. We understood his motivations and backstory. They fed it to us with Abby backwards and a bit too quickly. We’re supposed to love and care about these characters after watching them mercilessly beat Ellie, pin her down, call her a bitch, spit on Joel while he’s being tortured, etc.. Like it’s just not how you tell a good narrative.. Ironic how you’re trying to lecture me on empathy but you say some personal weird shit in ur comment without even meaning to. Shows your lack of empathy and how your ego drives you.
Jett realizing who Abby's dad was is probably the best reaction i've seen out of anyone on that scene. Loved how you went to see and imagine both perspectives and how unbiased you were when it came to Joel's death.
@@suzu8253 Which is hilarious because he had already said, "What he killed your dad?" As if that wasn't the thing. But once he put two and two together that he sliced open that doc's neck, like killed him killed him. It was like OH SHIT.
I lowkey guessed most of the story, like her being the daughter and whatnot, and I still don't gaf about Abby... They just made you hate her off the bat and then forced the redemption down your throat. Wasn't earned in any way.
3:29 THIS is why I love Jettro so much. His capacity for empathy and perspective beyond the player shows how emotionally intelligent he is as a let's player
that’s what i’m saying! all the people immediately hating abby without any second thoughts or trying to see things in a different light are emotionally immature
This is exactly....EXACTLY the thoughts and emotions the story was meant to elicit. Rage to begin with. Disbelief. Hatred. But slowy and surely you wonder if Ellie is doing herself more harm than good. She crosses lines. She feels awful. We feel awful. But we still believe in justice for Joel. Only, Joel deserved to be hated himself. He got what was coming to him. He accepted it but Ellie didn't know to what extent. Her friends are too late to pull her out in time and the cycle of rage begins again. Now begins Abby's quest for revenge. I knew it back in 2020 when idiot teens were losing their shit. This game is much better than the stupid internet hate claimed. It's brought out emotions and despair and thoughts and discussions more than any other game I can think of. That's entirely down to characters you care about and a story of the painful reality of murder and revenge.
@@kevtb874 The Game is Bad, Why? because I love the first game. Abby deserved to die, Why? because I played as and liked Joel and Ellie, had Jerry and Abby been the first games protagonists I would've wanted Joel and Ellie dead, its a natural and appropriate emotional response to something like Joel or Jesses death. If the only thing anything brings out is despair, hatred or a pessimistic/nihilistic view it is not good. The "idiot teens" you talk about seem more human to me than you do.
@@Devecs you just admitted you failed to understand the game. The entire point is to first be upset and to later see that the enemy you were upset with has their reasons too. That if you walk a mile in someone else's shoes you'll understand them better. Abby's story parallel's Ellie's in many ways. It turns out she's actually someone who would understand her pain more than most. Circumstances pitied themselves against one another. The entire point is to first be upset but then over time to realise Ellie is no more in the right than Abby. Being unable to empathise with the other side is a weakness. And this is only a game. If you hate 'the other side' in real life without understanging where they are coming from, it's doomed to violence forever. This core concept of making you hate Abby first is central to the story and what makes the game a talking point and way way more interesting than if they just wanted you to kill Abby or if they made her sympathic from the beginning.
21:50 I have never seen a lets-player realize that the doctor was Abby's father and INSTANTLY be on her side. I love how you take the time to process the story and accept it for what it is. It's so refreshing
@@AndrewMiE true, and i also especially hate it when they get told its a ''bad game'' and instantly go along with that instead of forming their own opinions
@AndrewMiE And those people we're long time fans, Jett, me, and all the newcomers had the luxury or playing these two games back to back but the fans who waited seven years to play as Joel again were fucked over, you couldn't possibly blame them for being upset. Even as someone who doesn't think the game is bad because of Joel's death, this game still has a ton of issues.
I think the reason why Abby’s father was questioning why Marlene had to tell Joel about Ellie was because in his eyes, he’s a grimey smuggler getting a girl from point A to point B with no hardships or strings attached familial-wise
@@zdog72.0prince8 I totally agree in a normal world, but just a reminder that Ellie has tortured too, in vengeance of loosing her father figure. Grief in this kind of violent apocalyptic world is a whole other thing.
@@briefour The purpose of her finding Abby was to avenge her father figure, and Nora part of the team in the room who allowed it to happen, so yes she did. In this case there were other ways of finding Abby’s location, it wasn’t an urgent case (like with Joel’s situation to find Ellie) where there was a time limit and someone in danger - It wasn’t essential for her to do what she did. I see what you mean, but all I’m trying to say is - Torture very bad, yes, but Abby is not be only person to have done these things and I understand in this world how she came to do it. I love Ellie, Joel and Abby, I think it’s just very complicated and the Abby hate is too extreme.
Jett is probably one of the best gaming youtubers right now. He's so funny, and gives a lot of insight to what's happening in the games and whats on his mind, he really good. And he just seems like a good person in general
Jettro: Jesse is a badass. I love him! *5 sec later* *Why are we still here? Just to suffer?! Every night, I can feel my leg… and my arm… even my fingers. The body I've lost… the comrades I've lost… It won't stop hurting!! It’s like they’re all still there. You feel it, too, don’t you?*
Seeing the scene where Abby kills Joel but from her perspective always gets me. The acting is incredible so I feel like you can see it in Abby's face, getting the revenge she thought she wanted didn't make her feel better and brought her no peace. She may even already be feeling regret as Ellie screams on the floor just like Abby did for her dad. This story is truly so complex and I feel so grateful we get to see Jett experience it! Incredible playthrough ❤
Jett convinced me in a matter of days since i discovered him like a week ago that he is the best lets player on the platform. This hilarious ass reaction to jesses death just sealed the deal.

Jett really is going to get far man. I can already see it. I’m sure we all can. The energy this man brings to each video is unmatched bro. Keep being you Jett❤
This game is so fucking brilliant. I love the little touches that explain things without exposition. 1. Abby's face, right before she says, "You killed my friends." She shakes her head in a mixture of surprise and confusion...because this is the first time she realizes who Ellie is. 2. Manny, the guy who spits on Joel, is the other guy in the surgical room in the hospital, because he's Owen's team partner and is also responsible for the doctor's security...which is why he spits on Joel. 3. Jerry and Marlene having the interaction about telling Joel...neither of them having any idea how Ellie and Joel's relationship has developed and not understanding the danger they're in...but Jerry being right, since telling Joel gets them all killed. 4. The flashback to Joel's death, and how we now get to hear the conversation that we couldn't before because Ellie's ears were ringing. 5. Owen being completely unafraid of having a gun pointed at him, and stepping directly into the threat, when Jordan wants to kill Ellie. The game gives us another example of this, although it's related as a story instead of showing us this on screen. This retroactively makes Owen's behavior with Ellie at the aquarium make more sense (she inadvertently pointed her pistol at Mel's pregnant belly, and Owen tried to put his body between them.) 6. The gym at the stadium, multiple cafeterias with lots of food, and farms...all of which explain Abby's bulk up. People who claim this game is poorly written are fucking idiots.
Abbys bulk is pretty realistic too, its years of being motivated by hatred. And if the argument is "can't do that without steriods" well she clearly had access to them if she wanted them, they had entire hospitals filled with drugs and medicine.
The game is poorly written. Some details don't make it good. It has some solid ideas, like Joel's d*ath and the focus on different perspectives, but "wow this thing happened that was alluding to this" isn't good writing on its own.
@@lum26akua28 Can you provide a specific example of it being poorly written? Or is it just that you don't like the story? Not liking the story or the game play or whatever is perfectly valid. If you don't like it then you don't like it. However, "not liking it" and it being "poorly written" are not the same things. Also, there is no need to make an appeal to authority when providing your personal opinion on art. What I mean is that if you don't like something, then expressing the opinion "I don't like it" is perfectly fine, and requires no other explanation. An opinion is simply a statement of the emotional reaction you are having to something in that particular moment. Thus, all opinions are correct in the moment they are expressed, and require no further validation or outside authority, regardless of whether you provide any additional supporting information. Whereas if you say "I don't like it because of....." and then insert some kind of objective fact, you are not strengthening your argument, but weakening it. This kind of statement tells the reader "I am expressing this opinion not as a simple declaration of my reaction to a thing in the moment, but as a statement of exterior authority that you must believe since my personal views carry no weight." In other words, don't listen to me, but instead listen to this external, authoritative voice since I have no idea what I'm talking about and can only repeat what others have told me. So, if you do have some kind of objective standard for "good" or "bad" writing, and you wish to compare this story to that standard, then you must provide said objective standard, where you got it from, and how you intend to apply it. Having done that, you must then provide relevant passage within the text that proves its conflict with the standard for good writing. If you cannot or will not do that when making an argument, then its better to simply express your opinion and then move on, since you are the only available authority on your own opinion, and nobody can prove you wrong.
@@rawkmode6315 I believe that I wrote a response and UA-cam deleted it. So, no. The story is bad, it's not that I didn't like it, it's just that it's bad. Objectively.
Everything that you're feeling, the anger, the exhaustion, the pain etc is exactly what you're supposed to feel playing this game. They literally pluck you out of your life and put you into the world of the Last of Us. You feel what it's like to live in that world. It's uncomfortable and hard, and not for everybody . But it's real and it's raw and it's crazy that a video game can not just show you a world, but make you feel like you're a part of it.
Paused at 8min in just to say: Jesse's death is one of the most effective deaths in the whole damn game. We know Jesse, we care about Jesse as a person with his own life and hopes and loyalties and ex-gf with a baby on the way that he feels some kind of way about, and he just, what? Gets mown down like some NPC by someone on their way to a boss battle? ...Well, yeah. Just like we've been doing to all the NPCs between us and Abby.
Adding as I watch more of the vid: pretty sure other commenters have pointed this out, but the reason Jerry asks, "Why?" is that, as far as he knows, Joel is just some smuggler Marlene hired to transport Ellie out west. He has no idea that Joel and Ellie have a bond; he didn't even see Joel trying to resuscitate Ellie in the tunnels. But also, on some level he's probably trying to dissociate from the fact that Ellie is a person with her own relationships, because he knows what he has to do to (at least in his mind) save humanity. He knows he wouldn't be able to do it if it were Abby. Love makes hypocrites of us all, and very few people in this world are all the way good, or all the way bad. Jerry is a doctor who saves lives, who goes out of his way to tend to a pregnant animal, who loves his daughter, who dedicated his life to a cause he believed was just... and who, in the service of that cause, has done terrible things; who, believing it would save humanity, was ready to sacrifice a child. Joel was a murderer, a hunter, a selfish and violent man who killed without remorse and who, by his own and Tommy's accounts, spent years ambushing and preying on travellers to get by. And yet he was able to love this one little girl enough to be willing to doom the whole world for her.
The fact that they killed joel off because he killed some random NPC is stupid. It would be no different than the son of David’s henchman-whom Joel tortured and killed in order to save Ellie-being the new character of the game that kills Joel for torturing and killing his father and all his father’s friends. They are exactly the same thing.
@@locomojoboy2Still using the word npc as a derogative term describing the characters of the last of us tells me that you did not understand a single point this franchise has tried to make.

Jett, when you asked how Abby got there that fast, you missed it but when Ellie left the aquarium after killing both Abby’s friends, you can see the map on the floor in the “baby blood” scene, hope I could clear that out, not a lot of people seem to notice it 😂. @@guitarman0365 exactly, they only notice it at that scene from abbys playthrough cause they focus on it, but if you have watched a lot of youtuber gameplays you’d know they dont realize the map is there a lot of times in the ellie playthrough

The more I watch people's playthroughs of this game the more I realize just how much of a damn masterpiece this game is, and also I wanted to say the way you react to the things that happen and the deep thoughts you have about it are EXACTLY the reaction I believe the makers were hoping everyone would have. I've watched a lot of people play this, and I have to say yours is literally the best. You catch a lot of what others seem to miss, and you're also hilarious, easy sub c:
MAJOR FACT often forgot, Jett: -The Fireflies were also in the wrong by simply not letting Ellie make a choice. If they let her wake up and make the choice to die for humanity, Joel would probably let that happen. But Marlene probably understood Ellie's determination to get there as a confirmation she wanted the vaccine to happen, but she (and Jerry) massively overlooked the 'detail' that Ellie didn't know, her own death. So actually, Joel is more on the right than the Fireflies, as they took the 'Trolley Problem' Ellie would have with herself, and made it their own, putting Joel in a position he couldn't handle. In the end, everyone had too much in their shoulders (humanity's faith and a whole history of loved ones dead) to be able to understand the complexity of the situation. THANK YOU JETT, for cheering up our nights with your amazing personality, charisma, EDITING SKILLS and much more. You're one of the people I wanna watch play and experience shit for a long time. Can't wait for your TLOU tv-show reactions as well! HAPPY 2024!
SOMETHING ELSE THAT’S ALWAYS OVERLOOKED: JOEL didn’t even want the job in the first place. He had such a distaste for Ellie that everyone can see it. That was the last Marlene saw of them. THE FIREFLIES DID NOT KNOW THE RELATIONSHIP JOEL AND ELLIE HAD BUILT. They only knew that he was a smuggler who agreed on a job. “She’s just cargo, Joel.” Marlene didn’t have to tell Joel shit from her perspective, but she did anyways out of respect for him. And he butchered them for it.
YESSS, totallaaaaay! She did have that sensibility to atleast tell him. Unfortunately everybody forgot about Ellie in this whole trama. Although she's a child, she had the right to choose, even Marlene knew.
@@shineinouzen7412 "Marlene didn’t have to tell Joel shit from her perspective" You mean when Joel asked her to see Ellie and showed how much he cared for her before being assaulted and threaten ?
God himself could have come down from the sky and told Joel that Ellie was fine with dying for the cure and that it was 100% guaranteed to work and would save all of humanity, and it wouldn't have mattered. Joel still would have killed anyone standing between him and getting Ellie out. END-GAME SPOILER, DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED THE GAME: This is literally, explicitly confirmed in the final Joel flashback. Ellie literally, explicitly tells him that she wanted to die for the cure, and Joel literally, explicitly tells her that, even knowing what she wanted, he'd still do what he did all over again.
After ending the last vid JUST before all this craziness happened, I have been so tense knowing everything you were about to see within the first few minutes 😭🙏
When Abby says, "If it were me, I'd want you to do the surgery" it parallels Ellie's feelings towards her immunity. Ellie felt her life was worth saving millions and she was robbed of that choice. There are so many facets to this game and I absolutely love it. All the characters are morally grey and also feel so relatable all at once.
If it were told with actual nuance and good pacing, sure. Having my nose broken, told to punch the bully back, then have my arm broken by said bully and then being forced to sit through a multi-hour scene explaining the bully's personal problems won't make me sympathetic to the guy that just fucking beat me up.
@@Cheddargoblindeez I'll make it easier for you to keep track of it- having my nose broken (Joel) by a bully (Abby), being told to punch that bully back (Seattle day 1-3), having my arm be broken (Jesse and Tommy) by said bully, and then being sat down and told of the bully's traumatic past as a justification to my beat down isn't going to make me sympathetic towards the guy that just beat me up.

I just want to start by saying I'm in the "I love this game" camp. Now that this is out of the way, I played this game. And I watched gameplays. But none of the gameplays I watched broke my heart more and more than YOURS, hearing you talk about how much you loved Jesse, and how much of a good guy he was, and the closer and closer we got to this scene, I kept telling myself "He's gonna punch his monitor". I was almost proven right when you picked your chair up. It's crazy how much The Last of Us franchise plays with our minds. The more we get into Ellie's story, the more we start wondering if everything is worth it... and then we open those doors, and we see Jesse falls... and we're back to "I'M COMING FOR YOU!" "It's completely justified" THANK YOU! I know some people don't feel that way, bur this is why I love this game. because I always felt uncomfortable with Joel in the first game, killing everyone without a second thought. And we were behind him on this because we are bonded with him and we loved Ellie. But every single person he killed, they had extended families. And I had did not like that fact. He was a ruthless killer, bbut we chose to forget that part. And Abby said something really, really important to Ellie but more on that later...
It’s a real breath of fresh air watching you play with an open mind after all these years of me being completely obsessed with The Last of Us. You a real one Jett
One thing TLoU displays is that to a game designer, games are their art. Art is meant to evoke a certain emotion. And TLoU does this masterfully. Having you relate to the characters to a point that you feel the emotions they feel. TLoU1 did an incredible job, but TLoU2 takes it to the next level. You not only feel their bonding, but their pain, anger, etc. It's just a shame that many people made up their minds from spoilers without even playing through it to see the way it pulls heart strings.

And the fact that Joel did what every father would’ve done whenever Marlene said that. 25:21 Yeah, it broke us, it made us hate her, but bro, Abby is such a great character. Keep it up Jett, I’m looking forward this series
"that’s the division in the fandom, not everyone was emotionally intelligent to accept this" 🤮 Ah yes, the 'master race' of emotional intelligence.../s Absolute *cringe* is the only problem with the fanbase.
just a reminder, to Marlene and the rest of the fireflies, Joel is just a smuggler taking human cargo from one side of the country to the other. they have literally no reason to suspect that Joel would have any meaningful connection to Ellie before he started blasting.
I literall almost spit by drink out at 21:50 your reaction was absolutley perfect man LOL. Also really appreciate he can see the game for what it is and not be clouded by his emotions and actually enjoy the game really great playthrough!
Fun fact about the first game. When it comes to the doctor, you can actually choose in what way to kill the doctor. You can burn him alive with the flamethrower, blow his head off with a shotgun, or with a pistol. Which also means you can shoot him anywhere you want, like the toe, his arm, hand, or any non-lethal spot. They made a mistake with that because by allowing us to choose how we can deal with the doctor, there’s a disconnect between the first and second game and a disconnect between players who chose differently. Even more so when the doctor in the first game looks nothing like Jerry. That was changed in the remake, but it really goes to show that they weren't planning a second game.
Them changing the doctor actually really annoys me cuz they could've just had Abby be adopted, give a more concrete parallel to Ellie and Joel's dynamic, y'know?
It's also weird that they had to make it that one random doctor instead of anybody else. Because in the first game, we mow through a lot of people, as both Joel and Ellie. Imagine if Abby was David's daughter? That'd be so much more interesting, and they wouldn't have to retcon anything to make it fit with the second game.
@@Delatrow That's a thought I had too, having one of David's cult members go out to seek revenge rather than some random lady, it would've worked better had Abby's story and Ellie's story been completely separate
How is this a retxon? They changed everyone’s design, not just the doctors lol even Ellie had a completely new design from the first, they only later went back and changed her old design to look like the new one in the remaster
Dude, Jettro really is the future of “Let’s Players” on UA-cam. The amount of emotional intelligence and integrity he shows towards the stories is a step above any UA-camr I’ve seen in forever. Bro never fails to entertain and break hearts all in one video. Keep it up my man!
I'm loving your TLOU series man it's so refreshing to see someone play it with a proper open mind and to truly understand the story the world and characters and not just outright hate on abby but understand it from her perspective. Your playthrough of the game has hands down been my favourite. Your reactions are on point reminds me of my first playthrough 😂 game is a roller coaster of emotions that doesn't let up
This game has layers. If you pay attention, you’ll notice the rest of Abby’s friends aka The Salt Lake Seven (except Manny) kinda distanced themselves from her after The Jackson Incident. There’s all kinds of references to not seeing each other for weeks etc. They were all horrified by what Abby did. Yeah, she deserved her revenge, but fuck! She basically tortured Joel to death. And her friends (except Manny) weren’t down with that. Also, she woke up on Day One having a nightmare/flashback about what she did. She couldn’t even live with what she’d done. Obviously, enacting revenge didn’t bring her the peace she also deserves. She was haunted by her own actions. Sorry for rambling
Hope you guys enjoy! This game…hurts my brain and my heart lmao

He fully immerses himself into the emotions of the game, and for us the viewer its like we are experiencing everything for the first time along with him
To add on to this, I also love how he isn’t just keeping one perspective like he did at the beginning, he’s trying to understand all sides.

That line from Marlene “what if it was Abby” and Jerry’s silence was so good because it just shows that Joel did what ANY father would have done
No one was wrong and everyone was wrong at the same time
I absolutely love the subtext of that scene. Jerry knows, for them to succeed, he has to do it, but he also doesn't want to do it. Marlene doesn't want him to do it, but she also knows deep down, that he has to do it. Such good writing and such good acting between those two.
Nah Joel was still selfish. They robbed Ellie her choice. Every surgery you have to get a consent but nope, Joel had to be the “hero”
@@Arctis326I mean it wasn’t Joel who robbed her of her choice, it was the fireflies. Doesn’t make Joels actions better but the Fireflies were in the wrong for doing it that way too.

Finally a play through of someone who understands a story and not just hating because Joel dies. Handling it very well
Absolutely. The problem is nobody put themselves in Abby's position, they don't care to understand both sides. If someone killed my father I would absolutely want revenge/justice. I don't give 2 shits about the person that took my dad's life and the reason why he did it.
@@LvLove518 Joel is just more logical. Like put yourself in his shoes for a second:
I was told to do a job.
Your issue is you are not even attempting to see it from any other perspective than Joel's so of course you're going to say what you said. @@LvLove518 the difference is we played as Joel for an entire campaign. We understood his motivations and backstory. They fed it to us with Abby backwards and a bit too quickly. 3:29 THIS is why I love Jettro so much. His capacity for empathy and perspective beyond the player shows how emotionally intelligent he is as a let's player
Yeah. He’s pretty awesome.
that’s what i’m saying! all the people immediately hating abby without any second thoughts or trying to see things in a different light are emotionally immature

Jettro finally saying that Joel’s death is justified is proof that this game really can change your perspective and emotions just like that

Joel's death is justified but not his torture

I see what you mean, but all I’m trying to say is - Torture very bad, yes, but Abby is not be only person to have done these things and I understand in this world how she came to do it.

Yeah only 100k is wild.
no fr. i watch gameplays from him of games that i would never watch if it was someone else 😭❤️
This retroactively makes Owen's behavior with Ellie at the aquarium make more sense (she inadvertently pointed her pistol at Mel's pregnant belly, and Owen tried to put his body between them.)
6. The gym at the stadium, multiple cafeterias with lots of food, and farms...all of which explain Abby's bulk up.
People who claim this game is poorly written are fucking idiots.
Abbys bulk is pretty realistic too, its years of being motivated by hatred. And if the argument is "can't do that without steriods" well she clearly had access to them if she wanted them, they had entire hospitals filled with drugs and medicine.
couldn’t agree more with that last statement
21:47 to 22:37 had me rolling. Most entertaining playthrough of this game hands down. It's all Jet.
We all knew that this episode will be tough.
I LOVE how complicated this game gets and how you can sympathize with both sides. It’s so good
Paused at 8min in just to say: Jesse's death is one of the most effective deaths in the whole damn game.
I was really starting to like him just for him to pass away like that 😢
The fact that they killed joel off because he killed some random NPC is stupid. It would be no different than the son of David’s henchman-whom Joel tortured and killed in order to save Ellie-being the new character of the game that kills Joel for torturing and killing his father and all his father’s friends. They are exactly the same thing.
@@locomojoboy2but that's the point there tryna make. Everybody has a life and every life is important - there are no NPCs

Jett, when you asked how Abby got there that fast, you missed it but when Ellie left the aquarium after killing both Abby’s friends, you can see the map on the floor in the “baby blood” scene, hope I could clear that out, not a lot of people seem to notice it 😂. COME ON BRO, i have GOOSEBUMPS everytime i see the transition scene from abby crying for her dad to her just about to kill joel, probably my favorite scene in games of all time, in construction, atmosphere, song, bro this scene is FIRE…
And from abbys perspective in this time… goat scene. Idc
@@vitorhugomontezano4315yeah, you see while everyone is arguing about Ellie and Tommy’s fate, her face is still sad, angry, all the emotions still because killing him didn’t bring her, her peace. It’s a great scene
It's an amazing scene because you can then finally realize that all of the pain, anger, nightmares she's been having for years...she is finally able to exact it out on Joel. Then when she does it, the camera just stays on her and she's just there looking at Joel's dead body.
It's like she's waiting for a particular feeling to come over her and it doesn't. Such an amazing scene.

his reaction was actually a jumpscare to me, i love jett so much
Youre one of the few youtubers i can consistently watch 1+ hours of in a row, and i gotta applaud that. Youre great man
The more I watch people's playthroughs of this game the more I realize just how much of a damn masterpiece this game is, and also I wanted to say the way you react to the things that happen and the deep thoughts you have about it are EXACTLY the reaction I believe the makers were hoping everyone would have. I've watched a lot of people play this, and I have to say yours is literally the best. You catch a lot of what others seem to miss, and you're also hilarious, easy sub c:
MAJOR FACT often forgot, Jett:
-The Fireflies were also in the wrong by simply not letting Ellie make a choice.
HAPPY 2024!
Yeah... i dont think the fireflies had the infrastructure to mass produce a vaccine to begin with...
SOMETHING ELSE THAT’S ALWAYS OVERLOOKED:
JOEL didn’t even want the job in the first place. “She’s just cargo, Joel.”
Marlene didn’t have to tell Joel shit from her perspective, but she did anyways out of respect for him.
END-GAME SPOILER, DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED THE GAME:
This is literally, explicitly confirmed in the final Joel flashback. Ellie literally, explicitly tells him that she wanted to die for the cure, and Joel literally, explicitly tells her that, even knowing what she wanted, he'd still do what he did all over again.
After ending the last vid JUST before all this craziness happened, I have been so tense knowing everything you were about to see within the first few minutes 😭🙏
ikr he kept talking about Jesse an hope an lives a stuff i was like 😬 hes usually really good at guessing the storys too 😂
Same here.

The more we get into Ellie's story, the more we start wondering if everything is worth it... and then we open those doors, and we see Jesse falls... and we're back to "I'M COMING FOR YOU!"
"It's completely justified"
THANK YOU!
Dude you are so emotional yet you are so mature, you have my highest respect.

It’s a real breath of fresh air watching you play with an open mind after all these years of me being completely obsessed with The Last of Us. You a real one Jett
This man is going through what everybody else went through 3 years ago LMFAO and it's so funny.

Every single reaction you have on this game makes me so excited. So well edited, and just you generally, speaking your mind out, giving your great opinions.
Jettro dug his heels in, his feet cracking the ground beneath his feet with each step as he resists an emotional whirlwind, each time he falters he plods forward, shoulders heaving, carrying the weight of all the hopes and dreams of his subscribers, "this all ya got The Last of Us Part 2?" Jettro powers up, lifts up his controller and in spite of the pain, in spite of the anguish, he grips hard as if lifting mighty mjolnir, he plays on, determined, NOT undeterred...Jettro...you're a real one. We thank you for your service
@@Delatrow there's no retcon, they just changed the character design.
How is this a retxon? They changed everyone’s design, not just the doctors lol even Ellie had a completely new design from the first, they only later went back and changed her old design to look like the new one in the remaster
