OT + DBI seems like a very good combo
yea it really is! taking it a little further you could make top loops with the DBI and then sample a 2-4 bar loop into the OT and go crazy with it

Geezer. I'm a big fan of saturation on drums to help them hit, and I guess that's the whole schtick of the Drumbrute, but that snare is just *brutal* ! To my old, damaged ears, that's the kind of distortion you get from broken hardware. Which is apparently highly sought after in some darker corners of the modular world...

My favourite comb filter trick! The square wave is great for adding melody to percussive sounds. Alternatively I love building melodies with trig locks and probability 🐈⬛⭐️

all these years later and the octatrack still sounds like ass. not you, the machine itself. i had one and loved its capabilities but the sound is so flat and not dynamic, even with 24bit enabled. i think it's just shitty converters, but who knows really. there are a few signal chain solutions that remedy this, but i would much prefer if it sounded better from the source
