Back in the day (1990's) I had a 1972 BMW 2002 and I removed the back seat and put two 6v semi truck batteries in series. Was the strongest 12v power i could muster up back then. I never had to worry about drain if my vehicle was off and I wanted to listen to music. I had two 10" subs in a bandpass box It was 20+ years ago so don't remember what order the box was and what amps or speakers I had. Bandpass was just becoming a mainstream design around 1995 when I was in my mid 20's. Hey i remember the first video game ever made.......PONG, yup, PONG. I seen the birth of car audio from the old kraco equalizer amplifiers, Old school Soundstream reference series to Hart subwoofers that you could plug into a 110v wall socket and not blow them. (according to the manufacturer). A time when Hifonics was the sh!t and not made in china (damn that makes me sound old). I used to build my own passive crossovers with caps and coils so my speakers would never see frequencies they couldn't produce on top of the electronic ones. I remember when amplifiers did not have built in crossovers you had to build yourself passive crossovers or add a extra powered crossover in the mix with your amps. 30 feet of extra wire to run that spaghetti mess. This will age me, I remember driving in my dads old dodge pickup truck listening to Johnny Cash on an 8 track player with 6x9 speakers behind the seat and you could still buy 8 track albums in the store..... Thank God for MP3 and streaming on my cellphone. I remember the first cellphones were a suitcase battery pack and the actual phone was 5lbs costing you $5 a min. to talk (might be exaggerating there but it was expensive) Car audio has come a long way since then. I didnt know you could hook up a AGM battery and a lithium in the back like that... i have a optima yellow top battery and a glowe industries voltage lithium battery can i hook them up in the back together???
Hey parker, i think If you just had the Lithium batteries in without the AGM the voltage will probably stay higher. The AGMs are seen as a load for the lithium and they will drain the lithium when the bass hits. Maybe try the test with just the lithium connected? I'm building a 16v 200ah LiFePo4 pack for my next system.
@@ParkerTheBasshead hey parker, say I spent 500 on lipo, and I'm already running two agm xs power bats (d4700 and a xp3000) (well over 600 in batteries alone) do you think 500 in lipo would put perform my agm?

You would have to test with the Headways BY THEMSELF. Not a very good test of lithium if you run both at the same time... lithium is only trying to take care of what the other batteries aren’t at the same time as trying to bring the AGMs up to the voltage of the LTO

Bro….if your subs are getting “stinky” that’s bc they are clipping and experiencing distortion. With a properly tuned and powered system, there should be ZERO smell coming from your subs unless they are in the break in period! Also, you can add 27 batteries to your vehicle, but unless the charging system (alternator) can charge/maintain those batteries you are wasting your money buying 3-4 of them. Does staying about 13V matter (not into car audio)? I know you don't want to go much below 12V for any 12V devices as they usually start getting grouchy below 11V.....but LiFePO4 has a very different voltage curve than an AGM. Nearly the entire capacity is at 3.20 to 3.30 under normal loads so thats 12.8 to 13.2.....so there's nothing inherently wrong if you dip down to 12.8.....it just means you're probably at 1C for a standard cell and 5C for a power cell. From 14.6V down to 13.6V there is really nothing in LiFePO4 and some of the bigger cells are going to rest under 13.8V....Headways will usually rest a bit higher...3.50'ish but it varies. Where did you buy the Headways from?
Dont forget to charge those batts at night so ur voltage stays a little higher 13.6 to 14.8 is usually where my kinetiks stay after a good charge and i can play for 2 hours straight before my voltage hits below 13.8
No, he's talking about putting them on a dedicated plug in charger at night. The alternator will keep juice in them, but they won't be fully charged. Problem is, he has 2 different kinds of batteries that will want to charge to different levels. The lithium will sit at a higher float voltage when they are really fully charged. My AGM batteries will sit at 13.2 when fully charged with no load. The lithium should sit higher 13.6 or so when fully charged. What he should do eventually do, is build 2 more lithium banks and get rid of all the AGM batteries. Install that high output alternator, and set the charge voltage at 14.6, and everything will sit at a much higher voltage. I say go 100% lithium at this point. It will help a lot, in a few different ways if he only has lithium in the Sequoia
Love your videos Parker.I have 2 100ah agms in the trunk and a 60ah under the hood.I have done the big 3 and have a ces 320 alternator. My rear agms are old and starting to die so i was looking at removing the rear agms and installing a xs power titan 8 5s.Will this be ok or should i buy a couple more agms. Thanks man.
Also separate your remote turn on on your sub amps. Use 12 voltage ⚡ on your remote turn on power and wire amps power supply hot 🔥 directly to the alternator output
So you dont have any issues runnin lithium with regular bateries??? Its always been my understanding that it was not a good idea, and can cause some serious damage.. there's not a whole lot of good information out there on the lithium right now
Have a liget question for you parker.. Can you hear a difference in detail between the full bridge. (Taramps) vs the half bridge amps.. Skar.. Audiopipe etc... Honestly Subs consume.. Not put out.. Messing w u bud everyone says "my sub put out xx power"
Would you sell and ship the used batteries your replacing in on a major budget and trying to add more power storage to my cars electrical system. I already have an agm oem replacement and have been looking to add a second in the back
catch22frubert my local walmart only sells wet cells I have to order one online anyway this way I would buy it from him get rid of his excess clutter and the battery will be used till the day it reads 9vs and won’t charge back up
Awesome to see the lithium in action Parker. Good job, man! Awesome to hear you have another lithium bank on the way! Just my thoughts, but you should eventually build 1-2 more banks after you do lithium #2, and run only lithium in the Sequoia. It will be advantageous for you in a few different ways. I hope your new high output alternator is set to charge at a higher voltage than stock. You can set the charge voltage at 14.6 with those lithium batteries and be 100% safe, and your voltage will sit wayyy higher all around as a result. Also, with 100% lithium in the truck, you can get a dedicated lithium charger and be 100% sure the lithium has a full charge on it whenever you want.

Yo so i can get these cheaper 100ah lithiums instead of Limitless lithium? 100ah battle born battery and also lifepo4 are around 1000 for 100ah and limitless is like $2400 yikes id rather go with the cheaper alternative right?
The battle born batteries are made for solar and stuff like that with a minimal draw. Not really designed for car audio. Would be a lot better off building a DYI bank.
have 2 100ah and 1 80 ah agm with a 25 ah limitless lifepo4 in the back, like you i'm a believer in capacity. every one tells me lithium would be better without the agm.. but how could that be when u consider the added amp hours
Because those agm batteries are pulling the limitless battery's voltage down and draining it slowly. You are slowly killing your 800 dollar battery. Not very smart. Not only that you are charging them at different speeds with your alternator. It's very stupid to run agm with a limitless but you can run agm with the headway cells he has. I actually run a limitless 45ah and a 48ah bank of headway. I ditched the agm all together. I also have a 320amp alt too tho.
@@devillenm5525 no it's safe to run lifepo4 with agm. i have a 320 amp alt as well. after not starting my car for 3 days it's right now resting at 13.16v. i've had the limitless 1 year and the agms i just been adding as i went along. life po4 and agm both rest at 12.8 if i recall correctly, at least that's what 3.2v x 4 is..
biz limitless does not have headway cells in the case... completely different thing. 13.1 is low for a limitless. My limitless and headway rest at 13.7 to 13.6v there is a reason that limitless tells you NOT to mix it with agm. It's a slow death but my limitless will last at least 10yrs if you keep that agm on yours you will be lucky to get 3 or 4yrs out of it. Idk about you but I paid 1300 bucks almost for mine. I want it to last.
@@devillenm5525 agreed too much money for my 45 ah to fuck it up..AGM batteries by themselves are fine but with 1200 dollar investment I tend to protect my investments not experiment with them

Toyota is overly cautious about battery charging, and set all their vehicles way low. Most newer cars have charge control in one of the computers these days anyway, but Toyota always had the lowest charge voltage from what I've seen. Gotta get the mechman voltage adjuster and manually set the charge voltage higher on Toyotas. It's a nice thing to have anyway, as you can adjust the charge voltage up when it's really hot outside, and back down when winter hits.
Hey Parker was just wondering, is your alt regulated by the PCM? If so be careful when you go to hook up that hi-output alt to the headway’s. My Sonic is PCM regulated and my voltage jumps up into the high 15s. So my next project is a US alts regulator. Just a suggestion tho is to unhook your rear batts and test voltage before running the new alt.
It's a 2006 Toyota, and Toyota is known to be overly cautious about charging voltage. That's why he charges at 13.8 now. Most cars from that era charge at 14.4. He should be 100% fine. He can always just ask the people who built the alternator what regulator they used.
@catch22frubert he got it from Brand X and I’m sure they talked about it but I also talked to them about mine and mine is also PCM controlled. Was just giving him a heads up just in case. Mine also only charged around 13.8 on factory. Now is charging 15.6 cold and around 13.2 hot. Just because the factory unit stuck at 13.8 does not mean the Brand X will.
Parker, QUESTION: With your new battery, what's the best SPL/dB you've hit?? 148? Bcuz the bass appeared to be more intense with the new lithium battery you built!
Headway cells are great for the money, bout 50 bucks a bank, and each bank is good for a 700 to 800 watts, but I got scared of it and sold my 60ah bank to a buddy and bought 4 xs power d7500 used. But that's 400 pounds of agm and im just gunna ride em out until I can afford yinlongs I think I need about 80 to 100ah to run my orion hcca 11k. my buddy hunter has 2 md 8k 4 banks of 45ah yinlongs with a ces 320, the voltage stays in the 14s no problem full tilt
I’m still wondering how these will react with a ho alternator..? I’d love to build a bank of these just worried about alt charging them to quickly and having problems.. ⚡️🔥😵
Yup, they will be perfectly fine. You can charge as high as 14.6 with these and it's perfectly safe. Anything over that can start to get into overcharge territory, but you would have to go way high for it to be dangerous.
catch22frubert Thank you for input, I don’t know much about lithium banks so I was reading about these cells and said “max charge rate 200 amps” had me wondering if you’d need a regulator or something . Once again thank you!

Dont forget to charge those batts at night so ur voltage stays a little higher 13.6 to 14.8 is usually where my kinetiks stay after a good charge and i can play for 2 hours straight before my voltage hits below 13.8
Diantre Creagh what’s the best charger for agm bats
Andrew Kelley i think he is talking about letting the alternator charge them
No, he's talking about putting them on a dedicated plug in charger at night. It will help a lot, in a few different ways if he only has lithium in the Sequoia
catch22frubert ah
catch22frubert and i think i do remember him mentioning that he does plan on replacing the agm batteries with more of the packs he made
Hey Parker, would you recommend buying an expensive BMS for a 200AH Li bank?
Love your videos Parker.I have 2 100ah agms in the trunk and a 60ah under the hood.I have done the big 3 and have a ces 320 alternator. My rear agms are old and starting to die so i was looking at removing the rear agms and installing a xs power titan 8 5s.Will this be ok or should i buy a couple more agms. Thanks man.
I wouldn't keep lithium under the hood and agm in the back get lithium in the back
Also separate your remote turn on on your sub amps. Use 12 voltage ⚡ on your remote turn on power and wire amps power supply hot 🔥 directly to the alternator output
So you dont have any issues runnin lithium with regular bateries???
Its always been my understanding that it was not a good idea, and can cause some serious damage..
there's not a whole lot of good information out there on the lithium right now
I'm so confused why aren't the cells shorting out when you assemble them aren't they negative to positive lol.
Those 3 different batteries. Do you run them all daily? And are they different ah ratings
Una duda bro, donde tienes conectada la tierra de tu amplificador md12000.1 taramps.
Can you use those lithium batteries under the hood while in that battery box?
Would you say these work with AGM better then say a limitless lithium 45ah for the pruce its hard to say no for more amp hr power for that price.
Good video, but could I use a lithium battery in the back with a lead acid in the engine bay?
Have a liget question for you parker..
Can you hear a difference in detail between the full bridge. (Taramps) vs the half bridge amps.. Skar.. Audiopipe etc... Honestly
Subs consume.. Not put out..
Messing w u bud everyone says "my sub put out xx power"
Can we mix lead acid batteries with Lithium ? 😌 Paralleled together
Very nice video, however, That 12k will not last too long attached to the subwoofer box.
Do you use a battery isolator? 🤔
Would you sell and ship the used batteries your replacing in on a major budget and trying to add more power storage to my cars electrical system. I already have an agm oem replacement and have been looking to add a second in the back
Just go buy an agm at your local Walmart. These things are wayyy too heavy to ship individually. You wouldn't save any money, even buying it used.
catch22frubert my local walmart only sells wet cells I have to order one online anyway this way I would buy it from him get rid of his excess clutter and the battery will be used till the day it reads 9vs and won’t charge back up
Is it possible to have an AGM battery under the hood & a lithium in the back ? Will it effect anything? Pls advise
No
Are the kinetic batteries good
Awesome to see the lithium in action Parker.
Heel cant i charge 1 LTO bank 40ah with my standaard altinaitor 14v 100ah
That new alt should make for some solid electrical on your system
Yeah can’t wait to get it installed!
Thx Parker!
Nice those American Bass 12s hit hard. Was your car off on the test?
What alternator did you go with?
Do you have to run an AGM up front to do lithium in the back or can you wire lithium straight to the alternator?
Yes most people wire straight to alt
@@ParkerTheBasshead thanks for replying. Would you prefer one of the lithium banks or 2 kinetik 2800 for a 4000 watt amp? Also what's your opinion on taramps?

You should be good with lithium batteries.I have great luck using them in my other hobby-R/C model airplanes. These batteries are known for maintaining there current flow amps.I love them.Car audio is another great use for them.Thats a smart move. But that can be dangerous if miss handled. But there a great power source.Great job!
@@ParkerTheBasshead cool thank you for that info
How's that cell bank holding up?
It's funny how parker always ends his AH ratings with saying AH, lol 😆

Can you run lithium batteries with Amg and be safe?
have 2 100ah and 1 80 ah agm with a 25 ah limitless lifepo4 in the back, like you i'm a believer in capacity. every one tells me lithium would be better without the agm.. but how could that be when u consider the added amp hours
@@devillenm5525 summer time i rest at 13.5 after 2 3 days its 13.3
@@devillenm5525 agreed too much money for my 45 ah to fuck it up..AGM batteries by themselves are fine but with 1200 dollar investment I tend to protect my investments not experiment with them
How much power did those subs really take
Parker you mind me asking how big is your stock alt? I've got a 80a alt and I'm going to be running a XS Power Titan8 RSV Lithium on a Sundown SFB 3k.
From what I can see, stock alt on a Sequoia is a 105 amp unit. 80 amp alt is pretty weak. Nobody makes an improved version of your stock alt?
Hey parker, I'm looking to buy a radio. I'd like double din, DVD, and Android capable. What's the best one you recommend? Maybe around $150? Everything else you've recommended has worked out, so I'm coming to you.

Really appreciate you 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Parker Dacchille no problem. We appreciate you bro
@ParkerTheBasshead we all appreciate you!
Are you only charging at 13.6? Seems pretty low usually minimum charge voltage is 14.4
Toyota is overly cautious about battery charging, and set all their vehicles way low.
Thank you.... answered my questions!
Parker, where'd you get your hull for your lithium cells @?
Hull?
@@ParkerTheBasshead the case
I would assume you can find one on eBay, no?
@@catch22frubert yeah but some of them look cheap prolly not up to BCI standards
What alternator did you end up going with? I’m needing to get one for my 06 Sequoia.
Got a 250amp from brand X. So far so good
Parker Dacchille I looked at their site but didn’t see anything for a Sequoia. Did you have to call and have it custom made?
The PCM will be bypassed
@catch22frubert he got it from Brand X and I’m sure they talked about it but I also talked to them about mine and mine is also PCM controlled. Was just giving him a heads up just in case. Mine also only charged around 13.8 on factory. Now is charging 15.6 cold and around 13.2 hot. Just because the factory unit stuck at 13.8 does not mean the Brand X will.
@Parker hell yea are you just unhooking the sense wire?
Yep! Brand X built it to be internally regulated
What about adding a quality capacitor to whatever battery you have…? This helped me back in the day!!!
I been told by many many people that capacitors are no good... buy a battery....and now it's buy a lithium battery
does it make difference in sound / bass?
Parker, QUESTION: With your new battery, what's the best SPL/dB you've hit?? 148? Bcuz the bass appeared to be more intense with the new lithium battery you built!
Not sure why it's hitting into he 12s should be way up near 14 volts
Headway cells are great for the money, bout 50 bucks a bank, and each bank is good for a 700 to 800 watts, but I got scared of it and sold my 60ah bank to a buddy and bought 4 xs power d7500 used. But that's 400 pounds of agm and im just gunna ride em out until I can afford yinlongs I think I need about 80 to 100ah to run my orion hcca 11k. my buddy hunter has 2 md 8k 4 banks of 45ah yinlongs with a ces 320, the voltage stays in the 14s no problem full tilt
Nicely done👍👍
Thank you!!
I’m still wondering how these will react with a ho alternator..? I’d love to build a bank of these just worried about alt charging them to quickly and having problems.. ⚡️🔥😵
They will charge just fine with a HO alternator. No problems.
