Nothing against you. I like this video and find it helpful but I did not have the same experience with removing the roof from the car. I found that twisting it only opened up the one side of the car. While I was twisting I didn't realize that it actually ended up cracking the body. Now I'm contemplating whether I should try to find another shell or just chuck it and buy another body and find some other way of taking the roof off.

The tip for taking out the roof of Walthers' coaches is very good. It is always a tricky issue... But I have some (respectful) comments on the installation of the leds.
    a) In DCC you should use a diode bridge immediatelly after current intake to ensure led lights are always correctly fed.
    b) You should also install a capacitor to avoid flickering.
Apart from that , excellent video and marvellous consist. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, thank you for the comment. You are correct on all aspects of the led lights. Diodes and capacitors is the best way to go if you are able to do so. I find that the led strips tend to generate a bit of heat without diodes. Not to the point that stuff will melt, but they do get a little hot

Thanks good tip video. I need to apply it to my N scale passenger cars. I am running DC.

On analog, or non DCC, when the train's direction is reversed will the led's stop working? I know they are dependent on correct polarity.

Have you tried to put a red LED in the rear of the skytop lounge?

how do you hook up wires to the trucks? are those screws on the trucks where the wires attach??

    • @dynamicloco2186

No wires mate. This is Walthers coaches with power pick ups from the factory.

You may want to use a micro brush to apply the flux. You get a much better coat. Soldering sucks and you need to do everything you can do to make sure it works. Again thanks.
