RSO Roundup Episode 8: Flock Camera System

- From car thefts and burglaries to violent crimes. We want to stop criminals in their tracks before they strike again. Thanks to new technology, our San Jacinto Station has made 189 arrests and recovered 162 stolen vehicles valued at more than $1 million - this year alone!
In our latest RSO Roundup, we reveal the new tools coming to Riverside County that are aimed to keep you and your neighborhood safe.
The key is passing legislation that restricts the uses of technology by governments, the private sector and regular citizens. For governments and the private sector there should be serious fines and criminal penalties for abuse. Anyone incorrectly stopped by police based on faulty information should receive high financial compensation from the public or private sector org. High penalties will hopefully motivate people to use the technology within the law.
Spoken like true tyrant's....
And what law or rules stops them from using them for other reasons that may be considered in the future. Did the sheriff department ask the people in the county for their input first?
Exactly. We need federal law to oversee these.
He gave himself 4 stars.
Its not just a camera. It is a massive network that can track and profile movement of a car around the nation and information be freely shared between agencies with no oversight
So, if you're doing something nefarious, watch out! It's not targeting the honest people. DUH!
@@CidYoung-REALTOR you just don't get it...but within 10 years you certainly will understand how dangerous these flock cameras are. Print this message out and put it in your fridge or wall with today's date on it.
Big brother Snowden warned us
I completely dislike it. Who decided where they go? I live in a quiet and safe neighborhood in Highgrove and there are 8 in my neighborhood. 8! Why? Who decided this? I don't care how safe it makes us. Its a violation.
Minority Report
He literally says “catch them before they commit the crime” lmao
These 100% will be abused. We need federal law to govern how these are used and who has access.
I am REALLY TIRED of reading of how crooks are stealing people's tools from work trucks at night, and cat converters by crawling under their cars even in broad daylight, or tourists who have their rental cars broken into because they parked it by a known landmark or beach, only to return to find their windows smashed or trunk jimmied open.
@@CidYoung-REALTOR these cameras are only working now because they are new. Within a few years they will lose their effectiveness. They are already disabling and damaging them in our nearby city before the commit the crimes because they are extremely vulnerable. Then they will be gathering data on law abiding citizens and spreading your behavior and movement around the country when an investigation is openned..which will not result in catching criminals
Excellent Roundup!
Thanks, glad you like it.
Very disappointing opting for big brother approach
Great stuff, keep cleaning up the county, thanks!!
The cameras are creepy. If you were on the receiving end of the surveillance I bet your view would change.
I'm not a criminal, so nope, it doesn't bother me. If my car is stolen, it's a tool help catch the crook!
Why don’t we just not let criminals get vehicles? Maybe that will stop the crime?😂😂😂
Great video on how modern crime fighting is occurring in 2021.
Impressive but scary.
Great work. 😊
Thank you
Wow It’s flock system on steroids!
I am impressed. I am happy Sheriff Bianco is embracing modern technology.
Wait. How do you catch someone BEFORE they commit a crime? What is this, Minority Report?
Catching serial criminals that commit crimes often. It’s an assumption that by putting people in jail, that commit crimes often, you’re preventing future crime.
@@callen0892 unfortunately you can't claim that under the law
If they are on a mission to steal 6-7 catalytic converters in one night, they might capture them based on a previous theft, in a nearby neighborhood.

wouldnt criminals just ditch the car after the crime than the cameras are useless
So as someone who is currently homeless in this county trying to get help is hard for me for various reasons, I'm trying to reach out for help in getting off this drug for good and turning my life around
