Most community colleges offer Administration of Justice classes. These are a foot in the door of the knowledge you need and will continue to learn, plus they have basic tactics training classes to train your body muscle memory so help you quickly respond correctly to a physical attack/response. I also cannot stress the vital importance of improving ones running speed and endurance as well as push-ups, pull-ups, core strength, burpee's, and shoulder strengths long before even applying as one needs this to get through the rigorous physical training classes of the basic training.

They say no. However I'm 35 and feel my time has passed to fulfill this dream. This is a job where u must be physically fit. Long hours and shift work. As we get older that gets harder and harder to do. I'm sure the maturity aspect of being in my mid 30s would be a great benefit vs a 21 or 22 year old but nevertheless I can't bring myself to apply :(
