Question: at 16:40 min hand, if the right side hand stays at 14 and when the dealer gets the 16, is that an automatic loss? Or the dealer needs to continue dealing to beat the left side hand, and since he goes over 21 would the 14 win?

Am I correct in thinking that BS determines ONLY whether you hit, stand, split, double etc, and is independent of how much you bet. Also it appears that card counting is completely independent from BS and it determines only how much you bet. If this is true then the other videos don’t make this point clear and only consider the making of money from the casino.
Yes basic strategy only helps you with when to hit, stand, double, and split based off mathematics and statistics. It does not determine how much to bet since the bets are placed before the cards are dealt. This is where people start playing betting strategies to try to get an extra advantage
The edge about BS + counting cards is that you can double down or even split bet if you know you have the favor in odds, even if BS tells you not to. Counting cards also give you hints that you should bet high or low depending on hi-lo current count. so these two come hand in hand in the end.

It depends on the table. If dealer must hit soft 17, you double down on 11 against any card. For dealer stand on all 17(soft 17), double down 11 against 2-10 no aces.
Whats the point of gambling if you’re at a disadvantage? Even if it’s 49.5% to 50.5%, aren’t you mathematically guaranteed to lose money given enough time played?
For me 11 & 10's are NOT always double downs! I find that if you are given an 2 or 3 followed by an 8 or 9 this would be a double down ONLY! If you get it the other way 8 or 9 first followed by the 2 or 3, that you will most likely loose this set up!! ;) So in summery, the smaller of the two cards should be near YOU/On TOP and not NEAR the dealer/On the Bottom!! From 30 years of playing.... :) For soft hands with an ACE I double only soft 13-16 when the ACE is near you or on top! And 17 ONLY when the ace is near the dealer!!!
Gotchu. And basically you flat bet at table minimum until one of the 4 scenarios hits...and then martingale from there until your next win if you lose that 1st bet regardless of how the cards play out on that 1st hand?
You read the card incorrectly, you were 100 percent wrong on several more points. Listening to your advice is a roadmap to the poor house…Learn how to count cards…it’s the only thing that will work in thru long term. ☮️.

yes, this gives house only 0.5% advantage, if you want to beat black jack, you need to count cards, play deviations and bet according to count.

Yes the dealer always has to take another card until they reach a hard 17 or better. So yes, the 14 would have won if the player decided to stay on it

My basic strategy chart says not to double your 11 if the dealer has an Ace. Great video very helpful 😊
