Sonic Generations (3DS) - Optimal Pace Just To Phase Through Everything

This happened on practice to pull off a record competitive time until I phased through the floor I was supposed to land on and ended up dying. As there are no checkpoints we run into, it puts me back at the start which is over a minutes progress gone at the snap of a finger.
