I would like to compare more in the future. I recently got a very old copy of Clue in the Crumbling Wall so I looking forward to seeing how it compares with the newer counterpart.
My husband listens to audible books as well. Even though I tend to read slow, I think my attention would wander with listening alone. Maybe what kind of learner we are is a factor, who knows. I'm going to be reading Mystery at Lilac Inn after my current book. I've loved the Nancy Drew books as a child and found a set at Goodwill. I thoroughly enjoy your reviews. 😊 (I have all the Fannie Flagg books too.)
Yes, I'm sure that lots of things factor in. Somedays I have a harder time paying attention than others. It also depends on what I'm doing with my hands at the same time. It was fun to reread several Nancy Drew books. They are childhood favorites of mine.
I’ve been wanting to reread the Lemony Snicket books!! I loved those as a kid! They were so scary! And now as I was watching the Netflix series, I’m just like… this is hilarious!
You had a great reading month! You have peaked my interest with the Nancy Drew editions with different writing. It would be interesting to go back with the books I read and find out the differences. In July, I read Sniffing Out Murder by Kallie E Benjamin, Brie Careful What You For by Linda Reilly, Peking Duck and Cover by Vivien Chien, and books 1-8 in the Secrets of the Castleton Manor Library series. I really enjoyed them all and recommend them!
I hope you get a chance to compare some older and newer Nancy Drew books at some point. I'm looking forward to reading more Vivien Chien now that more of them are on audio.
I’m gonna start the second book in the secret book and scone society series soon! But I’m also going through the Kate burkholder books! And the Amish matchmaker series by Amanda flower! So many mysteries!
I think I'm caught up with Amanda Flower's Amish books, but I've never read the second Kate Burkholder book. I think I'm a little nervous to try it. I want to continue the Secret Book and Scone Society series too.
Back when my daughter was a young teen we decided to read one of the early Nancy Drew’s we came across while reading the 1950’s Nancy Drew’s together. Let’s just say it was a book of its time and my daughter was horrified. Unfortunately I don’t remember which one it was but even though there several of the old ones still available we didn’t buy any more.
I shouldn't let little things bother me, but I'm human. Already this month I listened to a Southern fiction book and the narrator could say Augusta properly! Such a dead giveaway that she couldn't possibly be a Southerner. LOL!
I liked hearing your discussion about the changes in the new vs old Nancy Drews.
It is a very interesting project to compare the editions. I'd like to do more of that.
Estherjane here. Glad to actually hear someone talk about the Nancy Drew differences 😊

Thank you!

Goodness gracious! I'm doing good if I can read 3 or 4 books in a months! 😂 Kudos to you for gettin' it done! 👏🏻
Thanks! I know I'm a little excessive! :)
Your videos always motivate me to go read!
That makes me happy!!

Yes, I think it is a great series. I read them a couple of years ago.

If you ever figure out which one it was, please let me know. They are very interesting to compare.
Unfortunately I'm having the worst reading slump of my life🙈
@@bobbiesuedavis5406 Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. Sometimes it's good to take a break though.
I completely understand the annoying pronunciation from the narrators! I will drop an audiobook within minutes if I can't tolerate the narrator.
