Long story short, my dad took his truck to 3 different transmission shops and either recommended a new transmission or had no idea of what the problem was, I saw your video and followed your steps and boom, drives like new. Thanks for a great video!
Im a gringo who moved away from California and your accent and spanglish make me home sick. Lol not even playing, hearing that style of speech is nostalgic for me now. Great video btw, i just had solenoids fail on our Highlander. I was tempted to attempt a repair myself, but I wanted a mechanic to look at it anyway in case the clutcupacks or something were fried.
Great video. FWIW, I fill the transmission via the upper front cooling coil. Simply use a 3/8 clear tube forced into the rigid tube and gravity does the work.
Como es que nomas tienes 100K Subs!? Bro you should be well above 500k! If not even more! The repairs and lingo are easy to understand for the DIYer Keep it up bro! Ill see you at 1 Mil soon!
Took mine to the shop because "p9083" popped up and i wanted them to diagnose it better than i can. Now they said there are 4 more codes. Im picking it up and fixing it myself.
Some of these were recalled at one point. I had one getting stuck in and out. Had it worked on during frame spray job from a different recall. Same solenoid was recalled but not in my vin range. Dealership replaced whole solenoid block and harness. Cost about$ 700.
They had a recall , dang with this truck had a major recall for the airpumps that cost 5k called the stupid dealership told them how much for a diagnostic they said 200 plus the fix they said sounds like a 3k or more job, oh my i said, ill get back to you, looked up forums someone said it was a major issue they had an that toyota would fix for free damn dealership in Baytown. Called the dealership ship again an told them about this they oy yes just bring it in , your lucky its gonna save you thousands 🤔😡 snicky liars.
I fukcing LOVE Homie Hektor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great entertainment plus very valuable teaching!! Plus, I love the Spanish/English crossover!!!!! SOCAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a 2007 Tundra. Solenoid C and D. error codes. Does anyone know which wires or connector pins these are? I've seen PDF files 700 pages long, and just can't find a simple picture that identifies each wire and pin. I'd also like to buy the lead shown in the video with the female multimeter connector that goes onto one pin. I dont' want the large kit for $100 right now. But maybe a smaller kit that includes that connector.
So the comparison solenoid was 14 ohms. The bad one was 13.5 ohms , and the new one was 11 ohms??? So I don’t understand how the bad one was between the good comparison solenoid ohm value and the new one???
Great video of a diagnose and fix. I am having a little difficulty going from P to D. I have to use a bit of force to get it to engage to D. Can you give me any insight as to what might be causing that issue?
Hey brother I have a 2008 Toyota Sequoia 5.7 6 speed transmission with no reverse and shuttering between 1-4. It's throwing codes telling me shift solenoid C is stuck but I don't known which one is solenoid C how did you find out where your solenoid locations are by letters? Thanks Aaron
Checking resistance is a nightmare. When you're trying to hold a mirror witj a flashlight in your teeth and touch only one pin with the tip of a multimeter probe. While you're trying to keep a ground. And then you're trying to hold the screen so you can actually see what the reading is.
Damn bro...I was holding my breath when you were taking off those bolts...4 of those snapped on me while I was trying to change the filter. 1 hr job turned into a whole weekend.
I have the same code p0983 but no shifting issues i also have c1201 and c1340 can the p0983 be a phantom code? When my dash lights up the truck still runs fine and shifts fine it just won't go into 4wd or do anything in 4wd.
I got codes p0761 shift solenoid “c” performance stuck off and p2714 pressure control solenoid “D” performance/stuck off and I’m having a really hard time finding the part numbers I need to fix it since they are labels different on the diagram or to know which ones they are on the diagram to order the correct parts.
Hi there, great video! Just what I was looking for! My 2008 tundra 5.7 will not shift from 4th to 5th, so I am having the same issue. Do you have a part number for the solenoid? The solenoid your replaced, is that the same part that can be installed into a 2008? Hope you can reply !
HI, Homie Kektor I have a tundra 2006 with the same transmission. what model is this transmission and where can i find the transmission solenoid ID and their location. I have issues with solenoid A/S1 and E/SR not sure where they located on the tranny. Thanks.
Mine does this only on cold starts. If i warm up it works fine. On cold starts reverse has trouble engaging. Here lately the speedometer has been going from the speed im traveling to 0 and 10 30 70 and engine lights and other lights come on and off (while traveling). Where can i send you a video of it?
Thanks for posting this video. It has helped so much. I will be replacing a shift siloniod today. I have a 2005 4 runner, what ATF did you use. How would I know what type of fluid I should use? Thanks for the reply.
Hey hommy... tengonuna 2008 con el mismo problemas solenoide C y D y se le cambiaron y sigue igual algo diferente???? Sera?? O sera la computadora de la transmission??? Enviame tu numero para comunicarme contigo ,please gracias
I change my oem transmission because it went out and The codes I get with my new transmission are p0717 anx stuck in 4th gear and I replaced it and still no fix so I decided to change my transmission and still same code and still stuck in 4th gear
I'm having the same problem, hard shifting and transmission won't go into 4th gear. Do you know what solenoid could be causing the problem? I have a 750e transmission.
Most mechanics now..that would have been a full rebuild or replace for 5 to 8k.They would never actually diagnose that. Salute to you!!
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Yep. Going through it right now. Toyota wants 7k for a new transmission because of bad solenoid.
Long story short, my dad took his truck to 3 different transmission shops and either recommended a new transmission or had no idea of what the problem was, I saw your video and followed your steps and boom, drives like new. Thanks for a great video!
Transmission shops are the absolute worst
I can do this if I can also say chingarera right? 😅
Well done! Love the explanation and specifics of troubleshooting. Having the right tools for the job is half the job my old man used to say...
Este compa está en otro nivel 🤩
Another excellent job and well diagnosed. I agree with others most mechanics would not have diagnosed it right. Un majestro ! Bueno trabajo.
Most honest mechanic here! Others will recommend a transmission rebuilt. I'll bring mine into you instead!
I hope the customer was not charged to rebuild his transmission. Thanks for this video.
I'll bet you have people knocking down your door to get their vehicle in for diagnostics. Great vid, keep it up!
Great explanation, this guy knows his job, really technical, well done 👍
Homie Hektor! Thank you for the video and your time! Keep yhem coming Brother! Hope all is well!

Transmission issues are rare with Toyotas.
does anyone have a diagram to show which pins on connector go to which solenoid? I need to test C and D on a 2007 Tundra

Where are you located? You are a smart guy really impressed with your diagnostic ability.
Got to teach me some of your editing skills. Good stuff homie
Damn bro...I was holding my breath when you were taking off those bolts...4 of those snapped on me while I was trying to change the filter. 1 hr job turned into a whole weekend.

I'm having the same issue now. Did you fix the problem? Any advice?
Outstanding video homeboy.
You added Valvoline fluid, is that Toyota WS certified? Can you recommend a good pump system to add fluid?
Can it use AMES INSTRUMENTS DM300 Pocket Sized Digital Multimeter to test it like you did? This one is at Habor Fright.
Hey Hector, what would you expect to pay for this procedure at a mechanic shop ? Please reply
Will that same Solenoid control all 6 gears? cause my truck is a 2011 4.6l and it won’t pass 3rd gear
That's messed up this guy didn't reply to your message.
the audio edits.. 😂 😂 😂 and as always, great knowledge.
Forgive my ignorance but isn't 14 more than 5? Can you explain this?

Maybe change the fluid. The older models have a dip stick which makes things easier. Get the good stuff.
