The Lost World is one of few arcade games I finished. Was on holiday in Spain and started playing in a booth with a local kid. Neither of us could speak the same language but we worked together to get the game done. Even spent my last coin to revive them at the end. Good times. Good game
@Midtoker Marius Play House of the Dead: Remake on the Switch and you'll see why. It worked so well on the Wii because of the sensor bar, the Switch relies on just gyro aim. The result is having to hit the recalibrate button every 30 seconds and it gets frustrating really fast.
@@mullaoslo you can use it in some games but it's a bit of a learning curve. Just not very intuitive or ergonomic while aiming which is why it isn't more of a thing
@@LightStreak567it’s just a funny thought, not actually what’s happening. Though it’s also funny to imagine he’s got like a cardboard train setup going and he’s running with a windshield in his hands
I didn’t know how rare the JL3 game was. I’ve actually encountered the game multiple times throughout my life. An arcade bar near me actually used to have this as recently as last year.
Yeah same here. Played it a couple times at a local barcade after seeing it. Found it okay doesn't really amount near the greats like Virtua Cop or Time Crisis though.
I guess the Theater I went to was lucky then. I miss the arcade that was in the theater, and the theater itself really. Back then before the Internet was really a big thing that everyone had it was nice to have an arcade in the theater to kill time while I was waiting an hour and a half for the next showing of a movie.
You are right, The Lost World changed light gun games forever. You can still feel its impact in many of the light gun arcade games today. I know I've spent a ton of money on The Lost World and to this day it is still my favorite arcade game of all time! So many good memories.
I was the same. Although it isn’t canon, in my head-cannon, the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchises takes place in a multiverse with one single main one that connects the two, but retcons extended lore, a timeline specifically based on the books, one based on the original trilogy and comics, and one where each movie or film is its own fragmented timeline in order to explain soft-cannon and retcons like the video games. That’s my pov though.
As a young Mexican kid who emigrated to the US with his single mom, the Lost World Arcade at my local Gatti's was genuinely the coolest thing I had ever seen up until then, there was literally nothing like it for me. I spent entire days around that cabinet, even if I couldn't play it! When the booth finally got taken down around 2016, I actually managed to keep the headboard with the two sirens and cardboard background! It's the centerpiece to my Jurassic collection :)
The Lost World arcade has always been my favorite to play as kid next to HOTD, Let's Go Jungle, and Carnevil. I remember my local Cici's pizza had the JP 3 arcade which felt like a fever dream for main reason that it felt like a downgrade to the lost world my kid mind couldn't comprehend it. Overall great video and review!
The og Jurassic Arcade game with the moving seat was the GOAT, I remeber me and my brother would spend all out tokens on that game when we were at the arcade and we would scream in excitement from the first encounter with the Rex! We never got too far in the game but it was just an experience that made me really appreciate the simple things in life y'know?
I can only imagine a rail shooter based on the new Kong and Godzilla universe, there aren’t just big monsters there are also small but dangerous creatures from skull island and the hollow earth
I think a rail shooter inspired by Peter Jackson’s King Kong 2005 would be extremely cool. Also if a Jurassic World arcade ever got made, it would be cool if there were 4 separate missions divided by 3 sections that you can play in any order just like the 2015 JP arcade, except this time, T. Rex would be the 1st mission, Spino would be the 2nd mission, Giganotosaurus would be the 3rd mission, where you try to tranquillize all 3 of these large theropods in addition to the many species from a lot of the previous movies that would appear in these missions, some large herbivores would serve as mini bosses like Triceratops and a few medium sized theropods like Carnotaurus and a pterosaur like Quetzalcoatlus would serve as mini bosses as well. Velociraptors would still be some of the main dinosaurs you would see and they’d look different depending on the mission you’re in, but for two of the missions they’d be a related species, for example, in the T. Rex mission, you would see JP raptors and Lost World raptors and green super raptors, in the Spino mission you’d see JP3 male & female raptors and red & black super raptors, the Giga mission would have red feathered Pyroraptors and black feathered Pyroraptors & there would be black & yellow super raptors, Dilos, Compys, and Pteranodons of course make a return in each of the missions. The 4th mission, the hybrid mission, wouldn’t have raptors, but Blue would make a cameo as a background dinosaur, this time you’d be dealing with Troodons which are even faster than raptor’s and take away more health than raptor’s because they’re venomous, and some new species that haven’t appeared in a movie but have appeared in previous JP arcade games, like Deinosuchus would be a mini boss in one of the missions, and Edmontosaurus which would be a background dinosaur for peaceful scene purposes, but the 4th mission would include Indoraptor, Indominus Rex, and Ultimasaurus in that order as bosses which instead of tranquillizing, you have to straight up kill them while you’re trying to escape the region you’re in and get all the tranquilized animals to a safe location, and it would finally give Ultimasaurus some representation. How cool would all that be?
Funny you mentioned that. There is a game called Godzilla Generations: Maximum impact that gives that Rail-shooter-Arcady feel! As a kaiju fan. You’d enjoy the changes to most Godzilla monsters.
I like how in the JPIII game one of the player character models literally looks like Albert Wesker or something. Grant called in STARS. I'm now imagining Nemesis appearing riding a Rex and hearing Grant go "Whoa avoid that!"
I remember being terrified as a child of the lost world game. It was awesome and I played it anyway but being in the booth was deafening with the roars and thunder. It will always hold a place in heart
I have seen The JP3 game in one arcade in my hometown before. The game would always break down, I was never able to actually play it because it was always out of order. One day I asked and they told me that it wasn’t worth fixing it, but people come by to watch the demo and see the rare game so they didn’t have plans to get rid of it
I played the original bench cabinet SO MUCH as a kid, that any time the words ‘Good Luck’ occur in my life, I still see and hear the quarter insert screen. One day, I WILL have one of those for myself
I actually had a Jurassic Park 3 arcade machine at the movie theater close by, so it's cool finally seeing the rest of them! Had no idea it was this rare though-!
Never played any of these except 3 and man did I absolutely love it. Granted I was like 7 when I played it with my dad but I remember having a blast. And when my local arcade (which is now also gone RIP) got rid of it, I remember asking the employees there where'd it go. And they just told me flatly they got rid of it. Would love to play that game again. Hope emulation catches up one day. Great video!
i never realized the jurassic park 3 arcade game was so rare. up through my childhood and to this day, there’s a machine at my local theater! me and my friends would play it a lot as kids. i haven’t played it in a while, but i definitely want to go back and spend some time to play some of it. i distinctly remember the guns having this weird rough texture on the handles so they were always really sticky lol
I played three out of the four here. It's fun seeing them get some love. I never realized how rare the JP3 game was. My cousin and I binge played it once at a pizza restaurant and I never saw it again.
I don’t know if I was in the alternate Lost world game or not, but in Miami, Fl there is/was a place called GameWorks that was basically a Dave and Busters type place, but arguably better. One of their big draws was a Universal Studios style ride/arcade where you go into an entire dark room, sit in a rotating and rumbling two parson cart with a lap bar, and play Lost World on a wall screen. It started with the trailer/baby Trex scene and it was amazing because it really made you feel like you were in a trailer with a life sized TRex right outside. It started with a blacked out screen and someone saying “Mommy is very angry” before opening up to that trailer scene. I don’t remember what followed immediately after that, but I remember the giant croc was the next boss after that.
Just discovered your channel and your work is on par with the greats of UA-cam. Snappy editing, funny mete references, and a wealth of information on useless info!
This vid is pure nostalgia! Played the OG Jurassic Park arcade cabinet with my uncle back in '07. It was practically the first game I've ever finished and it ate up a lot of my quarters. Also, this chanel deserves more subsss
I really enjoyed this video. the fact that there's someone out there making old arcade retrospective videos like these to fufill my nostalgia from as a wee babby are a dime a dozen. Keep it up. Love the work!
For so long I genuinely forgot I made up the JP3 arcade game because I was so young when I played it and all I remembered was the spino loading screen. Found it years later and was bewildered it really existed.
There's a arcade in a mall in Odaiba, Tokyo that has the first two SEGA games. Lost World is an upright cabinet, but the first game is in it's DX cabinet and the hydraulics still work!
I had no idea they were this movie Jurassic Park arcade games. I’ve only ever played the original. Great retrospective! Also, at 10:52, I believe the point-and-click game you’re thinking of is the first Legend of Kyrandia.
I played the JP 3 arcade game when I was a kid, but sadly I never saw the machine again after that :/ but now I frequently play the Raw Thrills Jurassic Park game at my local arcade.
Ever since I watched Jurassic Park on VHS, I was hooked on anything Jurassic park or dinosaurs in general. Like you I haven't seen JP3 arcade or even played it. Really enjoyed the first Sega JP arcade game back on the good ol' days of my childhood in Chuck E. Chesses. Thanks taking me for an nostalgic trip down to memory lane! 👏😊
I grew up watching the Jurassic Park franchise too, which made these movies some of my favorite movies. I too love dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are one of my favorite things.
The Lost World games scared me to death every time I was at an arcade as a kid. Big, totally enclosed booths that always stood out as set pieces, loud roars coming from inside and much older kids going in and seemingly not coming out. I peeked in once as like a 6 year old and this teen girl inside asked if I wanted to play, but I saw one of the t rex scenes and took off running to my parents. Brilliant design.
First video series for games I have not played nor seen. So I just wanted to say that I really enjoy how you structure your videos. The quality of these videos have only gone up and I am really enjoying the content. Please! keep it up!!
Had the pleasure of playing the JPIII arcade in my hometown theater back in the day a couple times as a kid. Never really thought of it as annoying, since the combination of a sugar rush and adrenaline coursing through my veins took over with the need to destroy everything that popped up on the screen taking priority, but seeing the gameplay all these years later, I'm simply amazed at how poorly it aged compared to The Lost World's arcade. Great review, what a nostalgia trip.
I'm sure that if I had access to Jurassic Park 3 arcade as a kid, I would have played it just as much as Lost World. I would have been just happy to have more dinosaurs and rail shooters in my life. lol
The Lost World Arcade opening was as scary for us younger kids as the original Sega Genesis game's opening was for older fans. Also, my local theater had the JP3 Arcade growing up, and while i can attest to it being not nearly as good as Lost World, I still have a ton of nostalgia for it nonetheless, much like with any old JP3 merch.
I always remember that the TRex boss battles from '93 annoyingly had unavoidable bites. But I still had fun with it as a kid, ended up being one of my first arcade rail shooters I beaten as a kid
This is the first video I've seen from this channel, and I'm subscribing because of this video. I was watching it with my son & somewhere in the video he asked if we could check out your channel for more videos. He doesn't really usually watch longer form content, including TV shows, but he sat through this in one sitting which is a high compliment from him. It's usually me watching his videos so we have something to watch together, but I had put this one on to do my homework in the background. I just wanted to say thank you & you have new subscribers from us :)
Thank you. I will warn you now though, that I curse freely in these reviews. I would also warn about scary imagery, but if he can handle dinosaurs he should be fine.
@BexxReviews I'll watch most of these by myself anyway because he doesn't like the longer form content. We were on a dinosaur binge that lead from the Site B game that never got made, to Dinotopia to this haha. He mostly likes gameplay videos anyway so we had Man Eater on in the background while we played Pokémon TCG haha.
Love this retrospective! Lost World was a game I always saw in arcades, but I was too young to figure out how to properly play it. So I'm excited to finally experience that and the other games through videos like these. Thanks!
Honestly, you did such a great job with this video! I had fallen down the rabbit hole of Jurassic park games, wound up here and watched the entire video. I like your style and you have a great voice that's easy to listen to. I also appreciate the attention given to crediting any footage used, It's something many creators won't make the effort for. I am a video service technician by day and we actually operated the Raw Thrills Jurassic park game for a time. I never really had the chance to play all the way through, I only cared that the games worked 😅
I always loooooved The Lost World arcade, back in '97 it was a technical showpiece, the Dreamcast wasn't out yet, consoles were barely using decent 3D graphics at low res and THIS thing exploded in arcades. Even years later, I still appreciated this game for running so smoothly and seemingly without loading times to speak of, I think it loaded the entire thing into RAM and it absolutely showed. That's probably one of the reasons why it stuck so long in arcades, it was a relatively low maintenance machine beyond re-calibrating the actual pistols themselves.
It wasn't loaded into RAM. RAM at that time didn't even get into 512MB, much less gigs. They reused old cabs and just optimized it. The cabs used also had tons of generic parts that were easy to get, and official parts were insanely cheap and in production for a long time. It stayed around because it was insanely easy and cheap to fix.
So glad I discovered this channel. I have this inexplicable sense of wonder with Arcade light gun games like this. Despite knowing how limited they were in scope they always fascinated me with the set pieces in them. Maybe it’s just 30+ years of latent mystery brewing inside me because I very rarely had the $20 required to finish a run.
The lost world arcade game is a core memory, me and my brother loved it at our local arcade, We got to the point where we could finish it start to finish with no revives on a good day. Ive never actually heard of or met someone who remembers that game so this was a good trip down memory lane
I love this: congratulations on making an excellent first review video, Bexx! This video came up suggested on my feed and I immediately clicked it and was not disappointed. Your approach, excellent balance of being informative and entertaining, the humorous commentary, and everything else was superb. I will definitely be checking out other reviews that you may do in the future. I would love to request reviews of king Kong: the official movie of the game for the Peter Jackson film, and the 2008 version of Turok; these are both amazing dinosaur related video games I absolutely adore and would love to hear more people talking about them.
I plan to cover the King Kong franchise with a video per era. I will definitely be talking about the game (multiple ports are planned as I have a lot to say about the DS version surprisingly) around that time. As for Turok, I am a little hesitant to cover it as there is already a few good reviews over the franchise, but multiple people have requested now so I'll give it another consideration.
@@BexxReviews Very nice, thank you so much! I forgot there was a DS one, too. Very curious to hear about that. Also, trying to figure out why the Xbox 360 version is now worth almost $60 when it was going for sale for about five dollars a few years back 😅
Thank you for the unlocked memory! I was always too scared to play or finish these games at the local arcades, I hope we get some good dinosaur games this year!
I remember playing the Lost World Arcade Game at the movie theatres. It was the perfect way to kill time between the start of the ads and the start of the movie.
31:21 It took several rewatches of this video before I figured out why the plot of the second game always bothered me. I grew up playing the edited version of the game with the trex rampaging through the cuty and NOT the carnotaurus. And honestly, I'd never even SEEN the Carnotaurus until recently, I had no clue I was playing an Alt. Version of the game. Sadly; no pictures or videos, but I DO remember the changed content. Crazy to see/hear about it.
So I actually remember that Special Edition booth of Lost World at the GameWorks in Miami, FL back in the day! From what I remember it encased you in a completely dark room and changed the order of how the game started (I remember it started on the trailer). It has wind effects and rotating chairs starts out with an audio clip from the movie (something along the lines of "Look, they're hatching..." before whipping the chairs around immediately to raptors coming at you. I never remember getting that far, but it was so damn impressive. I'm glad to see in wasn't just a fever dream, just sad it's lost media at this point. Hopefully some day this and that weird motion whole-body controlled version of Tekken 3 gets uncovered.
First time viewer and WOW!!! I’ve played all these games when my local arcade spots housed them. Thank you for bringing me down memory road, and your commentary is astoundingly humorous and informative. I personally owned 2 The Lost World JP arcade machines because it was my favorite of the 4 and my friends and I did a 4 player 2 machine side by side battle to see who could get the most points
As for the Lost World Special Edition Arcade. I definitely remembered playing that game at a trip to Las Vegas at the Game Works Arcade back in 2001 where they have the booth that the seat are hydraulics and the guns are pretty heavy and shoots out air each time you fire. The game level is remix by starting you out at the Open Raptor field being chased by Raptors. Unfortunately I never get past the first part mostly, because there's a queue time and a long line so the employees treated like a theme park ride, one continue and you're done.
Hey Bexx, sorry for the comment a year late but I just watched this video and I must be honest it brought back a lot of memories I remember going to Chuck E. Cheese’s and spending all my tokens on the Jurassic park ride , great stuff thanks for sharing this cheers mate
Ah, I believe the game you were thinking of where you needed a magic stone to avoid being burned to death on a bridge was Shadowgate. I could be wrong, though. Anyway, I've enjoyed this video, Bexx. You did a great job as a first time reviewer.
Thank you so much for watching! I don't think Shadowgate was the game I was thinking of, as what I was thinking of was much older with pixel art graphics. Something like Kings Quest but not? Either way, I'm going to check out Shadowgate now. lol
@@BexxReviews I strongly recommend the trilogy; Shadowgate, Uninvited and Deja Vu. All three games are creative point and click adventures, with a lot of ways to die.
1:00:52 This is correct and funny story. There was one of these arcade machines in my town and it was brand new so I went to the arcade put some quarters in used it got this weapon and then the entire arcade cabinet just started vibrating not just a gun, the entire cabinet. They remove this about a week later. lol
Thank you! I was trying to find it while working on the review, but I couldn't find anything but "Spongebob scream 5" and other nondescript stuff like that.
This is a really good video! Got a lot of nostalgia for the Jurassic Park 2 and 3 arcade games. JP3 was one of those films I vividly remember seeing in a cinema as a kid so even though I know it's pretty mediocre overall, there are memories connected to it that make me a bit more lenient on it. Plus I kinda consider the Spinosaurus my favourite dinosaur because of that film, even if the T.Rex is still definitely joint-favorite really. Funny thing about the first Jurassic Park game and its ridiculous difficulty; people haven't been able to avoid damage during the intro T.Rex section even when doing a tool-assisted speedrun. It's basically coded into the game for you to take damage, it's pretty sneaky. I really hope we see Jurassic Park 3 playable via emulators eventually too, even if just for having it be future-proofed once all the cabinets are gone or so rare they're basically gone. If you're a fan of light gun games, you should check out the House of the Dead series! They're zombie games but they get really weird and wacky as they go on and pretty much all of them are available on PC. Also look into Teknoparrot, it's an emulator for modern arcade games and I believe they're working on getting the most recent Jurassic Park shooter running. I also gotta mention the Aimtrak and Sinden light guns if you haven't heard of them or don't already own one, they're really great light guns for PC and modern screens!
I'm glad you liked the 2nd and 3rd games! I was a kid around the time of the 3rd movie, so I completely understand the nostalgia surrounding it. I had a lot of friends growing up and even now who love Spinosaurus both in general and in connection to the movie. The first Jurassic Park game is closer to an interactive movie thanks to the technical limitations of the time, so I find it 100% believable that there are moments of literally unavoidable damage. That game definitely doesn't care about hiding its unfairness. lol As for emulation and other light gun games, I have looked into various rail shooters over the years. House of the Dead as a franchise has been on both my "To Play" and "To Review" lists for quite a while now, and it is simply a rabbit hole I haven't jumped down yet. I have tried Teknoparrot once, some odd years ago, but my computer flagged it as a virus and I decided to leave it for later once I've covered the games I already have access to. I haven't really considered getting a proper light gun set up for my home systems. I play such a wide variety of games that using only the mouse (or sometimes even keys) seemed like more than enough. I'll give it some thought, though. If I'm ever rich and famous, getting a legit arcade cabinet emulator with proper light guns is on my bucket list, but for now I use a single laptop for everything. I'm sure you would be happy to know that I plan to cover the other arcades I have on this channel; including Ocean Hunter, Carnevil, and a few more I won't name. In fact, the script for Ocean Hunter is currently being written. I'll definitely look into covering more games considering how well this video did. Thank you for checking it out and I'll definitely be using your comment as feedback on what to cover on the channel.
I wish the Jurassic Park/// arcade game was easier to get a hold of, like the Lost World. Both Lost World and JP/// were perfect arcade shooter games. Here in Hawai'i, we got both of them side by side in most if not all our arcades. I played them both a lot with my dad.
Man, this video is pure nostalgia. I remember spending tons of money playing the Lost World arcade game in the dark, smelly, sticky arcade with my sister. Frankly, the world needs more dinosaur video games.
@@blo0dysmiles297 Same goes for other games like CarnEvil, House of the Dead series, Rapid River and even, I dunno, Savage Quest and The Ocean Hunter. Why they didn't reformat 'em for game consoles as well is beyond me!
Just found your youtube channel recently and your videos gave me a nostalgia blast! I remember playing the first arcade Jurassic Park game in a Chuck E Cheese and it was fun. The 2015 one, I beat it many times, mostly solo. Sad to see I never got to play Lost World as I saw it somewhere once. I seen the third one in the anime expo when they lay out the arcade games. You definitely earned a subscriber!
Doctor Compers is my favorite Jurassic Park character. I love your look at the Raw Thrills game since it was always just too expensive for me to want to try, i think it would be awesome if they ever decided to add back the cut content with the Spider and anything else they might have planned.
The most hilarious part to me is in nearly all these games, regardless of whether we're setting them on fire, freezing the, electrocuting them, etc...we're simply "saving them"
There’s still a JP3 machine in the Tomorrowland arcade at Disney World. Been there for almost 20 years, so one of the two guns breaks a lot. It’s a fun enough game, but super easy. I can beat it with only continuing ONCE. Ive found it recently in a town south of Kansas City as well, but i doubt that one will affect too many readers. Feel free to ask if you wanna know! But this camcorder footage is weird because i never see the “DODGE!” Warning with the big red-blue arrows pointing offscreen. Pretty important element since, in a noisy arcade? You cant hear almost any dialogue…
Slight correction about Fallen Kingdom ripping off the game: the whole volcanic eruption thing is actually a callback to the ending of the original Jurassic Park novel by Michael Crichton in which (spoiler alert go read the book, it’s awesome) The Costa Rican military carpet bombs the island with Napalm and kills all the dinosaurs in the process.
As I've pointed out to other people, that is still not a volcano erupting. The volcano erupting is specifically from the first arcade game first before any other official JP media. That in mind, I'll go into detail when I cover the books and World movies in their own respective videos.
The Jurassic Park 3 Arcade was the first Jurassic Park arcade that I ever played, so that one to me is the best. I do love SEGA’s The Lost World and Raw thrills’ Jurassic Park arcades. I played the former at this kids and family place called Snapperz, and I played the latter at Dave & Busters. I played the shit out of them! I have only played the 1994 Jurassic Park arcade game on my computer and couldn’t get passed the first Area due to the controls. My older brother and I played the JP3 arcade at a gaming room in Walmart at Hot Springs, Arkansas. These games will always have a special place in my heart. Also, great retrospective!
I never made it past the Dilophosaurus in the first game myself, but I remember watching two guys beat the game and freaking out that there were two T-Rexes. I’ve seen a few places with Lost World nowadays and two or three-credited the 2015 game, but I really want to find the original somewhere so I can actually try and beat it.
The Dilophosaurus was almost always where I died when I played casually as a kid, and I would normally stop there. Some time after beating Lost World, probably when I was between 8 and 13, I decided that JP1 would be the next game I beat. One birthday party worth of tokens later (this was the era where arcades were all variations of Chuck-E-Cheese) and I pushed through the full game. As I mentioned in the review, the game is far from fair, and it ate way more money than Lost World by the end. As for finding a JP1 in the current day, try one of those "retro nostalgia" arcades. The kind that serve beer and have a one time entrance fee. It being pixel art means it is more likely to be there than in the back of a restaurant. Also keep in mind it doesn't have guns but rather joysticks, so some places might categorize it away from any dedicated FPS sections. My favorite arcade as a teen (a now long dead Gatti Town) had Lost World in a FPS focused section but JP1 in the young kids section. The old bright colors made it blend in there up until you heard some toddler cry about the scary dinosaurs. Good luck in your hunt!
@@BexxReviews thanks for the tip. I love these games (mostly- I’ve seen the JP3 one but I never bothered playing it cause it looked lame compared to JP1 and 2) and it’s nice to see someone give them some well-deserved attention.
Funnily enough, and despite it's apparent rarity that I had no idea of, the Jurassic Park 3 game was the only one my arcade had until 2015. So for years my only experience with the arcade games was playing the JP3 one, and I've never personally seen the JP or JP The Lost World ones in the wild. So maybe I'm biased and clouded by nostalgia but I always found the Jurassic Park 3 game extremely fun to play, one of my favorites in the arcade. I think The Lost World one is better, and I have nostalgia there too from watching UA-cam videos on it on top of always wishing I had the chance to play it, but even still I love the JP3 one so much while recognizing its flaws. Also it was clearly popular enough within the arcade because even years after 2015 when the new Raw Thrills JP game was added the Jurassic Park 3 game persisted and was still there. I also have fond memories of playing that and other rail shooter games with my dad growing up. Point is I somehow ended up with only the JP3 one for the longest time and not the other two, despite your claim of supposed rarity which I just find interesting.
Also from experience, the white flashes are annoying in person but are not a deal breaker. Trust me they're nowhere near as bad as they look. Oh and the voice lines aren't really too annoying in a hectic and loud arcade as it may come across from watching the gameplay. They aren't really even noticeable as you can basically never hear them and you never pay attention to them. From my time with the game they're basically background noise as meaningful as someone having a conversation the next cabinet over. I end up just relying on instinct/reaction time to dodge enemies and do things in the game. Also the whole shooting off screen to reload, aiming at a screen with no reticle, and playing with a friend which increases the enemies ends up culminating in a hectic and fun experience that leaves you fumbling/panicking in a way that can't really be conveyed through just watching the game. All in all it's a game that's probably not the greatest but one I still really enjoy, and while I can't speak for the first two, actually prefer over the 2015 one.
In my opinion the lost world game holds up graphically it actually looks beautiful the graphics also look similar to the Jurassic World mobile game from 2015
I hope they make a sequel to the 2015 Jurassic Park arcade machine. The graphics are pretty good and there is a chance that they could make a sequel but not very likely :(
The Lost World is one of few arcade games I finished. Was on holiday in Spain and started playing in a booth with a local kid. Neither of us could speak the same language but we worked together to get the game done. Even spent my last coin to revive them at the end. Good times. Good game
Funny, my only memory of this arcade game was also in Spain with a local! Glad I'm not the only one!
It’s a shame rail shooters are practically extinct outside of VR games. Wish they’d make a comeback.
That said, these games remade in VR would be insane.

I guess the Theater I went to was lucky then. I miss the arcade that was in the theater, and the theater itself really.
Back then before the Internet was really a big thing that everyone had it was nice to have an arcade in the theater to kill time while I was waiting an hour and a half for the next showing of a movie.
You know anyplace that has it still?
You are right, The Lost World changed light gun games forever. You can still feel its impact in many of the light gun arcade games today. I know I've spent a ton of money on The Lost World and to this day it is still my favorite arcade game of all time! So many good memories.
The Lost World arcade is a game I have a shit ton of nostalgia with. It’s very fun and I remember never surviving after the first T-Rex fight.
I always considered 2015 to be a prequel to JW , in my head it’s how they got the island back and makes the park opening a lot more sweeter 😂
Unlikely, as the Volcano in the film series doesn't erupt until Fallen Kingdom
Silent Scope, Time Crisis 2, HOTD, and JP:LW were mine. Wish I had the space for one of those cabinets in my house!
Holy shit dude my local cicis had the JP3 game too and i remember playing it almost every time i went until they got rid of the machine
I'm not the biggest fan of the Skull Island universe/reboot, but I am 100% for a rail shooter based on it. That would be so much fun!
As much as I dislike the movie, I wish we would've gotten a Godzilla '98 arcade rail shooter by Sega.
Well if there’s a kaiju rail shooter than that’ll be cool but we have the video challenger so it’s as close as we get to a godzilla rail shooter
28:09 The pole dancing dino segment was HILARIOUS!
I only knew about the first two and the recent J-Park arcade
That part disrupted the review for me when it had such a good flow
I like how in the JPIII game one of the player character models literally looks like Albert Wesker or something. Grant called in STARS.
I'm now imagining Nemesis appearing riding a Rex and hearing Grant go "Whoa avoid that!"
right before Chris punches at a boulder at it
It really does look like Albert Wesker's character model, doesn't it? lol
you joke, but zombie dinosaurs would lead to an insanely awesome Resident Evil/Jurassic Park crossover.
@@DasNordlicht91 There's already Dino Crisis
The first arcade game's soundtrack is so damn good, especially the opening T. rex chase music.
I've felt this way for ages, it's so freaking underrated. The final 2 rexes boss music is also incredible.
Jurassic Park Arcade 2015 is my favorite and I played it ever since it came out and it was so fun to play the arcade
27:30 That’s what we all felt when it came to cheap enemy placement. Love the Carno boss theme btw
Sorry this video is a couple days late. The copyright claims and a forever-processing glitched pushed it back.
Lost world is a hidden gem, and I remember seeing the newer jurassic park games in arcades
*Friend at the arcade:* Hey, you wanna play that JP3 cabinet over there?
*Me:* Woah, avoid that!
i never realized the jurassic park 3 arcade game was so rare. up through my childhood and to this day, there’s a machine at my local theater! me and my friends would play it a lot as kids. i haven’t played it in a while, but i definitely want to go back and spend some time to play some of it. i distinctly remember the guns having this weird rough texture on the handles so they were always really sticky lol
The Lost World was set as the standard for me when it comes to JP arcade , the way the Dinos move and past face action
48:24 That Jurassic Park Builder music was a nostalgic hit I wasn't expecting but that very well fits the footage.
29:24 What a great shot. This would've been a great moment in a horror movie let alone a rail shooter. Your narration makes it even better.
In hindsight, I'm pretty lucky that I had access to my machines as long as I did as a kid.
These reviews had me chuckling, keep up the great work! Glad I found ya - subbed.
I grew up watching the Jurassic Park franchise too, which made these movies some of my favorite movies. I too love dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are one of my favorite things.
Dope video! I grew up playing these games. Really fun to look back on. Always fun to find gems like this on UA-cam.
I would have been just happy to have more dinosaurs and rail shooters in my life. lol
@@BexxReviews Yeah same, you really can never have enough.
This is amongst the best JP games reviews I've ever watched. Not many people pay proper tribute to the games the franchise has spawned.
Thank you for that compy with a jetpack running joke, it always brought a smile to my face.
Finally. The complete retrospective I have been searching for. My life is now complete
Also, trying to figure out why the Xbox 360 version is now worth almost $60 when it was going for sale for about five dollars a few years back 😅
Collectors and limited supply
Thank you for the unlocked memory! I was always too scared to play or finish these games at the local arcades, I hope we get some good dinosaur games this year!
I like how the tranquilizers that are supposedly aren’t killing the dinosaurs are strong enough to destroy massive rocks
Hi Bexx, I really enjoyed the retrospective! “They don’t take kindly to a jeep being rammed up their asses” made me lol. I’m subbing
I played the 2015 Jurassic Park gane at a cinema in Sydney with my cousin while we waited to watch Akira. It was fun, but also super hard.
Where has this video been my whole life. What a trip down memory lane. Nostalgia city right here
this has been the funnest video i’ve seen this year so far, and i haven’t even finished it!
May i say... the Triceratops in the Last Arcade Game looked STUNNING with it's red stripe coloration ^^
The laser sight also gives you unlimited rounds until timer runs out. Meaning you don't have to reload every 5 shots.
1:00:52
This is correct and funny story. There was one of these arcade machines in my town and it was brand new so I went to the arcade put some quarters in used it got this weapon and then the entire arcade cabinet just started vibrating not just a gun, the entire cabinet. They remove this about a week later. lol
19:55
That would be "Screams 5 Man InsaneT PE134601"
It's one of those overused stock sound effects, right up there with the Wilhelm Scream.
Thank you! I was trying to find it while working on the review, but I couldn't find anything but "Spongebob scream 5" and other nondescript stuff like that.
44:16 ok... I just died of cuteness, didn't expect that
We didn’t record it ever, but my Walmart in madisonville, Ky had the Jurassic park III arcade for over a decade.
I don’t normally like watching people play games but your humor and insight was really fun to watch. 😊
I freaking love Jurassic Park, I still remember me and my brother always having a debate over who would win? Spino or T-Rex. Good times.
That game definitely doesn't care about hiding its unfairness. lol
As for emulation and other light gun games, I have looked into various rail shooters over the years.
Loved the lost world one, always played it when I was a kid. Great video and review!
How I wish these games were brought back, both for arcades and into game consoles. I miss playing these games😢!
Man I'd love for them to bring them all back in a big game collection
@@blo0dysmiles297 Same goes for other games like CarnEvil, House of the Dead series, Rapid River and even, I dunno, Savage Quest and The Ocean Hunter. Why they didn't reformat 'em for game consoles as well is beyond me!
@Emperor of Toons & Beasts I think house of the dead did get all the arcade games put into a collection. Could be wrong but swear they did
@@blo0dysmiles297 Well, I've been wrong before.
While I haven't gone through their entire catalogue, I would genuinely be surprised if they didn't use the cut content in their other rail games.
The most hilarious part to me is in nearly all these games, regardless of whether we're setting them on fire, freezing the, electrocuting them, etc...we're simply "saving them"
Can't wait for more reviews
Already working on the next one!
I truly appreciate your dedication to these classics
Slight correction about Fallen Kingdom ripping off the game: the whole volcanic eruption thing is actually a callback to the ending of the original Jurassic Park novel by Michael Crichton in which (spoiler alert go read the book, it’s awesome)
The Costa Rican military carpet bombs the island with Napalm and kills all the dinosaurs in the process.
As I've pointed out to other people, that is still not a volcano erupting. The volcano erupting is specifically from the first arcade game first before any other official JP media. That in mind, I'll go into detail when I cover the books and World movies in their own respective videos.
I remember when I would go to my aunt’s house, I’d imagine raptors running down the hall after seeing this game in arcades. So scary!
Love your commentary, I ended up watching the entire thing in one sitting.
Very well done. I played the JP 3 one the most
Funnily enough, and despite it's apparent rarity that I had no idea of, the Jurassic Park 3 game was the only one my arcade had until 2015.
As a Kid, I thought the Carnotaurus was a Ghost Dinosaur, what with the whole Disappearing Act…
GH, GH, GH, GHOST DINOSAUR!
Great video! And i loved the visuals you chose, so fun to see the graphics evolving through the games
In my opinion the lost world game holds up graphically it actually looks beautiful the graphics also look similar to the Jurassic World mobile game from 2015
Can't believe iv never seen your channel before. Quality stuff. Subscribed
I hope they make a sequel to the 2015 Jurassic Park arcade machine. The graphics are pretty good and there is a chance that they could make a sequel but not very likely :(
