@@nl7458 These days those type of protagonist isn't the best anymore. Nowdays people love to have more of an anti villain, moral ambiguity and complicated characters. Especially when the series/movie plot is about political stuff. Hathaway is a good example and Char is still a lot of fan favorite

Kira just gets the largest amount of flak because he's the most egregious example. He did it several times and he's the protagonist of a popular/divisive series. Add his Jesus/Gary Stu tendencies to the mix along with the fact seed and especially destiny refuse to criticize him or even imply that he in any way could be wrong as he wipes the floor with anyone who dares stand in his way and you've got a nice recipe for disaster. If he felt less like a power fantasy and didn't steal the protag status from Shin in Destiny then he'd probably be getting way less flak.
I still find it irritating how this video is half an hour long and the full compilation of attacks across every mech of every franchise in the game is an hour long for goodness sake sort yourself out Bandai and give the other series some love
