The grenade is what saved her life, a gift from her mother to spare her the fate of her parents. The explosion signified a path to freedom. In this way, I believe her mind fundamentally connected explosions with creating safety or safe passage from danger and an escape from pain and trauma. The Assault on Dragons Keep ending had me choked up. When the sorcerer (Jack) casts that death spell behind Roland and the screen goes black and Tina fell to her knees in agony/mourning, i felt so bad. She has the most tragic story in the whole game and she has the best lines / personality

What really put the nail in the coffin for tiny Tina, so to speak, was the assault on dragon keep That really put a lot of character development and connection to tiny Tina
One of the biggest changes i noticed between 2 and 3 is that her eyes shrunk. Probably why so many dislike her now. Big eyes imply innocence and tends to make people feel sympathy. This is subconscious most of the time, but think of a puppy. Thoes big sad eyes allways make you feel sad.
The ending of Assault on Dragon-Keep was something I was so unused to in Borderlands it actually hit way harder from how it was carried out. I hope Borderlands resumes this sort of Futurama-esque comedy mixed with seriousness, Borderlands going full on dark wackiness with no one fully acknowledging the depravity of some things can make it far less impactful.

Tina coming to terms with Roland's death still gets me. Ashley did a great job acting, and the character development was done so well that it still gets me to tear up.
I think we all need to give tiny tina a hug
It's kinda weird when she's baby talking Enrique the fourth and us looking at you the whole time
6:55 i cant believe they actually made a reference to Dungeons & Dragons lmao. love that game so much
Then you're gonna love the new game.
@@graetestfanever1 9 months later, people do not in fact love the new game
@@MasterCookies LMAO
You know there's gonna be that one person that says "tHeY cOpIeD hEr fRoM fOrtNiTe
My brothers say the same thing about the girl from fortnite im like rip off of tiny tina
Best part is the voice actor of tiny tina in BL3 is in fortnite as well. In case you don't know just look up "Ray fortnite save the world"
@@exavierm3094 i allready knew
@David Wolford fortnite might actually be a fun game if you experience it. There are just so many people who don't like it which I have no idea why. But since more people hate fortnite than people who like fortnite, I will become a fortnite hater aswell
@David Wolford yeah but I hate fortnite cause people hate fortnite
The background instrumentals (from Erased and Violet Evergarden) make her story all the more tragic.
Everytime i play Borderland 2, it mostly just for either Krieg and Maya's scenes together as they are a happy psycho couple. And for Tiny Tina's entire character arc of going over Roland's death. It entirely feels like something that couldve been done without, but just makes 2 all the better
Maya liked Krieg?
Damn these storys are deep. Understanding the borderlands story of each character makes you wanna appreciate it more and more.
“Only real badasses eat cookies!” man i love her so much 😂💗
The Assault on Dragons Keep ending had me choked up. When the sorcerer (Jack) casts that death spell behind Roland and the screen goes black and Tina fell to her knees in agony/mourning, i felt so bad. She has the most tragic story in the whole game and she has the best lines / personality
That cry to a laugh gave me a chill and it made me sooo sad 😞
8:36 if I had the ability to go into A game and do whatever I want, I WOULD HUG TINY TINA AND HELP HER GO THROUGH ALL THE PAIN IN HER LIFE!!!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I've been through Borderlands 3 several times now, never saw anything about Tina's wedding.
This still makes me tear up even though it’s just a dumb game. Tina is such a pure and lovable and character
(loud unmanly sobbing noises)
That wedding though..
Ahhh, so that's where that voiceline came from with tina and the skag (at about the end of the vid)
God, that scene with her yelling that she knows that Roland is gone, the fact that she's clinging to his memory and trying to keep him alive in some way... Also, I was sobbing when White Knight Roland was saved by Bloodwing. My heart 😭😭😭
There's about Tina in the pre-sequel during the "true vault hunter" and "ultimate vault hunter" playthroughs.
I got blocked by peta for sending them pictures of meat

Watching Tina fall to her knees and finally admitting to herself Roland is gone hit hard.
Her story in the movie is so different i see why people hated it so much 😭
Yeah, that was another dumpster fire because the director never actually played the games.
She should have stayed as Ahsoka clone war
I loved Tiny Tina in bl2, especially during her dlc, but I don't like her in bl3. She looks like a crackhead and doesn't bring the same type of Tina energy(?) I can't really explain what I don't like about her now but she doesn't seem the same.
She has the same damaged mind, she's just older
@@Anonymys43 clearly man prefers the 13yr old crazy girl tina vs 19 yr old crazy older tina personally i like her personality over all i was never expecting tina at all when playing bl2 hell craziest guy was brick for mr at the time :P
She just kinda stands there while delivering here dialogue in an extremely energetic manner, doesn’t work. She also looks weird to me.
It's bl3 they basically just forgot about her in the story but instead gave us shitty ava
i'm used to bl2 tina, but characters gotta have growth for them to remain interesting
5:23 I have never been moved so much by any game dialogue ever
Tiny Tina should be a playable character in the next game
Borderlands 4 trailer just dropped, so I second this
But then again we’d miss out on our best girls lines
I would be down for that! It would be great to play her in 4. I mean we got to play as Claptrap in Pre-Sequel so it’s definitely a possibility if Gearbox wants to do that.
Kid Tiny Tina is still peak character but I hate the direction they went with her in Borderlands 3 because this whole thing of her having many many relationships while barely passing 18 don't fit her very much.
Its just a random audio log but the entries of Tinas parents make me cry everytime
So do the logs about Jack and his Angel
The story of the games might not be as deep or coherent as other games, but the world building is spot on!
"Tina officially says goodbye to Roland"...
THEN CLAP TRAP RUINS EVERYTHING!!! 🤣🤣🤣
As he does
Easily one of the most compelling and endearing characters in the franchise.
10:44 He's got a point, wtf is all that mail coming from
We’ll never know. Unless it’s explained in 4 😂
Tiny Tina is one of my favorite videogame character and I never knew about her story. Thanks for this video!
Thank you for these history/lore videos. It means alot that you put in the effort to research all the lore, then make it into a nice digestable video.
What really put the nail in the coffin for tiny Tina, so to speak, was the assault on dragon keep
That really put a lot of character development and connection to tiny Tina
When you realize that Tina probably has had a lot of bf's and gf's and killed them all because she don't want a serious relationship that could lead to a happy life with kids like the life she had with her parents
Hearing the echo after Tina’s parents made me well up a bit… 😢
Tina's breakdown gets me every time. I'M NOT CRYING, YOU'RE CRYING!
I’m crying every time the confrontation of Roland’s death faces Tina.
before the video:" what story does she have she was a throwaway comic relief"
after: "ha ha emotions go CRY"
To this day shed a tear when she said "I know, but it's my story" at the end of the DLC
So you want to hear a story huh. One about an arms dealer knwon for never accepting refunds.
Just to let you know Tiny Tina is getting her on standalone game
