Nice to see something that I actually have to do at work! Gives me a bit of confidence that I don't do everything wrong... However I have learned for myself that small objects are better off being made completely new without linking the cad files- I just take the printout with dimensions on it and model them in revit- for a normal family home this seems faster and has the added bonus of getting rid of any .0002 imperfections in autocad and you find other flaws like doors that are slightly out of the grid..
Hi Balkan, I just want to give you another tips about the linked files: If you check the linked file button (first of all the buttons down right) you will be unable to select linked files.
I have been doing Intelligence spec driven 3D piping since 1994. 1994 Pro-Pipe, 1996 Rebis Autoplant, 2001 Cadworx, 2012Plant 3D 2004 Quick Pen. Oil / Gas has used very high end system for over 30 years. You make it sound like this is something new. Far from it. PDMS, SP3D, PDS VERY HIGH END
Hello Balkan, one doubt, because you moved the origin of coordinates in autocad, but when inserting the file in revit by origin to origin, it keeps using the WCS, not the new position. is that so?
If you don't have section how can we create section in Revit imported from CAD File.... I imported my cad file DWG in to Revit and made section in Revit and it appears only one level line no fixtures of sections why? Please help me how to do easily sections and Elevations in Revit Imported from CAD DWG file

Hey, great video, it helped a lot, but how did you get your "vertical" drawings to align to a vertical view. When I try it, it will only load into the floorplans
sorry but how the 2d part started ? Can you provide the link from where the 2d part started from scratch ? I am interested to try it and i am still a beginner . Thank you
Sir, when I imported the dwg file using link CAD, the floor plan is perfectly placed but when I'm switching it to 3D view..it's not appearing the way it must be, it's kind of showing a stretched view. How to resolve it??
kindly scale ur model and check the units both in revit and autocad so that they match perfectly.. if in autocad u use cm then in revit change unit to cm as well.
Prasad Kambli what about the layers? Is a door or a window turned into a group? Does it takes some preparation in the starting Revit file, e.g. hiding hatches, setting line thickness, etc...
