Why did you use the champagne to mirror-shine? Does it add depth to the shine, or is it from mostly show?

the paint is aniline and leather can be only vegetable tanning ( CRUST )

To give that burnished effect to the leather.
It is called BRUÑIR [to burnish]
The heated spoon let rise the leather ( vegetable tanning ) fat and close all the leather pores
