Hiring him to create not one, not two, not three, but three Police Quest games is pretty awesome and shows anyone can achieve their dreams. For this guy I assume his dreams were to roleplay paperwork despite not being a police officer anymore!
Reminds me of how the Hot Fuzz creators mentioned that in interviewing real police officers for research, they were constantly told about paperwork and procedure, which is why they put several bits of the characters filling out papers in the movie (done with fast editing to get them over with). I guess cops are just boring people and Walls probably could have used a collaborator who could take his basic experiences and build more exciting games around them.
Those voice artists are definitely first rate actors, I can tell.

The various out-of-place accents put me in mind of how Eurotrash used to do things. I give this video 10/10 Lolo Ferraris.
Lolo Ferrari was an actual 🌽 star, I was shocked when I found that out. I thought she was just a glamour model as a kid 😂
There were even more crime solving oriented point and click games from 1993! Excellent Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, and what some might consider one of the best representations of hardships of police investigations - Sam & Max Hit the Road.
So yeah, even with such a magnificent voice over Blue Force would have hard job that year.

Im glad I didn't play it for real but I definitely enjoyed my RTS playthrough - this channel is the best thing I've ever seen for feeling you have played games without playing them. Nothing beats it!
Seems Jim Walls may have been an expert on paperwork but he definitely could have used some support on dialogue and game design. It would be interesting to see what he could design with a capable team around him to help with his weak points.

Censorship is insane. I thought it was the Waco comment getting this nuked but it was a bit about a fighting game at the end I can't see why it would be censored at all. UA-cam needs to be bought by Elon.

Well done for getting Holly from Red Dwarf to voice the protagonist! Loved the voice acting though, it's making me want to play more games voiced like this.
I have nostalgic memories of this game. My Dad had it for his Windows 3.1 system and we would always get stuck on the first mission cause we didnt know you had to draw your weapon and hug the frame of the door. So instead we would always get shot by the Bob Pinciotti looking motherfucker. Good times.
Games like this were so hard before anyone understood gaming logic 😂 there were several games I had as a kid I would love now but didn't have any idea what I was doing. Particularly for Spectrum, I was a fan of Spy Hunter as a child without ever realising you could shoot 😂😂😂

It's at least true to the original Police Quest ending, where you take (or don't take) one critical action several screens before the "end" and watch the rest of the game play out with absolutely zero agency on the part of your own character whatsoever. Also I'm pretty sure that ended with some batshit scenario improbably removed from police work, including shoehorning in the 1980s Sierra Mandatory Gambling Segment.
I love that he tried and I love that sort of dedication to trying to show actual day-to-day police work in between the utter madness, but really Jim, we'd have been happy driving around in a big square car ejecting hubcaps on every sharp corner and instructing punks to freeze without stopping to inspect the contents of our police briefcase and correctly radio for backup beforehand.
God, I love this channel. Your scripts are so tight and so freakin' funny. "You found a cache of automatic weapons in the warehouse, which is *exactly what you were looking for* - solid proof that you were in America" - as an American, I find this to be both hilarious and depressingly accurate; the perfect combination for an amazing joke 😄But now you've gone and done the kind of thing where you go above and beyond for the presentation - the guest voice work is amazing and adds so much to this whole thing. Incredible work all around. This channel continues its _perfect_ streak of making the best reviews for the worst, weirdest and/or most disappointing games! I sincerely hope that this will not be the last we hear of Tsunami Media on your channel - I mean, who _wouldn't_ want to now get your impressions on this "Ring World: Revenge of the Patriarch?"

I find it incredibly creepy how the eyes don't move when the talking heads are talking.

I heard that folding a pyramid in a letter to a judge gets you off a parking fine... I can but wonder if the same trick applies for applications to software houses.
Goodness me that game would have required so much programming and graphics work at that time. Maybe they just ran out of money for voice work. In a way, you've finished the game development 30 years later.

Don't think any games had extensive voice work at the time, this was surely pre CD.
It was the same year CD-ROMs started to do the voicework stuff, so they'd JUST missed out on it.

After watching this I went and found a video showing all the ways you could die / get fired. Turns out that was more entertaining then the actual game. Thanks for playing through yet more utter junk for our entertainment. I almost wish the voice acting was actually in the game.

dude, this is GREAT! I've been watching your videos for a while, I like your style, your stories, and the games you show, but this one was special. I'm glad you called all your mates to voice this because it made it pretty funny. Plus I love the 90'sness of this game here, and how it relates to Police Quest and all. I love the Speccy games but I think you should consider switching it up like this when you think it'll be cool! :o
I love doing these DOS videos but they are typically 10x the work of a Spectrum game, hence the lengthy gap between them!

I am responsible for at least twenty views on this video. Something about it just tickles my brain in the right way. I do feel like adventure games from that era are really underrepresented in UA-cam media for how hilariously inane some of them are. Hoping to see more of this stuff in the future - fully voice-acted, of course; now that I’ve heard perfection, I won’t settle for anything less.
