  • Are you a 3D printing enthusiast looking to take your creations to the next level? If so, you're in luck because in this video, I'll show you how to supercharge your 3D printer's speed without compromising on quality. As someone who fell in love with 3D printing back in 2011 during my time studying industrial design in university, I know firsthand the incredible potential this technology holds. However, there are still a few things that can hold us back, and one of those is print speed. But fear not, because I've found an incredible upgrade that will change the game for your 3D printing projects. By using input shaping on Klipper via the Sonic Pad, you can achieve lightning-fast print speeds without sacrificing quality. And I'll guide you step-by-step through the process, so you can implement this game-changing upgrade with ease. Plus, I'll even share a 3D printed mod I made that will make the process even smoother. Trust me, you won't want to miss this tutorial. So, join me and let's take your 3D printing to the next level

      @Z-Made leaving the profession was a hard choice, but I got out back in 2014 right as things started getting really bad for cops in the USA...all the random police assassinations and whatnot happening. I worked in the Denver metro area and was one of the guys on scene during the Aurora theater shooting in 2012 as well, and that whole thing scared the daylights out of my wife. I hung on for another couple of years but once my daughter was born in 2013 (our 3rd kiddo), I decided family was the most important thing. Not a day goes by that I don't miss the job, but everything happens for a reason and I'm very happy where I am now.

      @@jaygreen4526 Hey Jay, I'm sorry for all the questions, I don't want to drive you nuts, but... How is the jyers Firmware on your Ender 3 v2? @@z-made No problem! I find the Jyers mesh leveling firmware to be light years ahead of the stock Creality Marlin firmware. I have no issues with it and I'm very happy with it. I've recently started using Octoprint using an old smartphone (Raspberry Pi cost a fortune as you know) and I've found it to be a little cumbersome. From that perspective, the Sonic will clean it up for me and the web interface is apparently much nicer. As well, the speed increase is a no brainer but it needs to be set up properly. I've wanted to get into the Klipper firmware for a while now, but the setup videos I've watched are enough to make your head spin! Hoping this will be the easy alternative! 🤞

    nobody noticed the JB-WELD in the screw holes that is now on the bottom of the Sensor.
    so now the Sensor AND Screws are JB-Welded to the badass bracket.
    lol good luck getting it off without cracking the housing of the sensor.
    guess you can always make another housing. lol.
    but i do like the idea of a Magnetic G-Sensor Mount for the Bed.
    and now, with just a small piece of steel mounted to the Extruder, the whole thing is easy to move from Extruder to Build Plate !!!!
    and just flip the X,Y,Z to any orientation on the Sonic Pad and you dont have to worry about breaking the sensor housing to get it off the JB Weld you didnt clean off from the bracket. rofl.

    great video, thanks. If I have run the calibration once initially, what do I have to do to rerun it? does the routine overwrite previous procedures or do I have to change any settings before rerunning it? Thanks

    • @z-made
      @z-made  Рік тому +1

      Hey Norman, once you finish running input shaping, klipper should automatically save the settings in a printer config file, and it needs to be rerun only if changes are made to the printer, (as opposed to pressure advance, where the number you get from the equation needs to be saved under the Presure_advance section of your printer config file) thank you for the comment, i hope i helped you out😊

    Actually all those good words about Sonic Pad should be told for Klipper and it's input shaping feature. It's not Creality who made the Klipper after all. I upgraded my Ender 3 v2 Neo with Dragon Hotend and a full metal double gear extruder with direct drive plate, silicon bed springs, double Z-axis shaft and stepper but overall I am most impressed by Klipper overall. It is the biggest new big thigh in 3D Printing hands down. I just love Klipper❤️

    Nice quick videos, I like them. Question though from a super noob with a new sonic pad. If I want faster speeds (after doing the input shaping and pressure advance and all that) I’m supposed to increase the speed in my slicer?
    I see a lot of people saying that they are printing roughly 80-200mm/s but they are just typing that into their slicer, right? There’s no speed settings on the sonic pad itself?
    Yes, I’m new to all this so don’t hate but like you I have other things in my life that take a lot of attention.

    • @z-made
      @z-made  Рік тому +2

      Hey there c0mputer, ya that is a totally legitimate question, yes you can increase the speed via your slicer, I would suggest increasing your speed in increments of about 50 mm/s and acceleration by 100 mm/s until you find that sweet spot. what printer are you using if you don't mind me asking?

      Hey there Oleksandr, first of all, thank you 😊! second There are numerous instances of accelerometers being mounted using magnets, this is a link to a website that specializes in magnetic mounts for accelerometers "www.hansfordsensors.com/us/products/magnetic-mounts/", and after some additional research online I can't seem to find any indication of magnetic fields affecting accelerometers, but I could be wrong, so, in short, I think its best to use this mod at your own risk as they say...

    You seem to have nailed it with the sonic pad. You asked if there was anything we would like to see. I have an aquila x2 n32 chip. I also bought a sonic pad. But after a week of trying I can't get it set up. I wonder if you can do a video setting up the sonic pad with aquila x2. I need someone a lot wiser than I am to solve the problems I have been having.

    I finish my x and y test, the sonic pad says test successful and that it will reboot. When it reboots it takes me back to the start of the test again, where I select printer style, and I have to back out of it. Is this correct? Every video I can find seems to show it returning to the Home Screen so not sure if it’s taking my results.

    • @z-made
      @z-made  Рік тому +1

      Hey there Hunters Hard Drive, this does not sound correct, have you checked your printer config file to see if klipper registered the input shaping documentation? it should look something like this (but not the same reading)
      [input_shaper]
      #shaper_type_x = 3hump_ei
      #shaper_freq_x = 78.2
      #shaper_type_y = mzv
