    I have had the Nebula camera for six months now and connected it to my Sonic pad. Works perfectly, night vision AI, Timelapsing and via web interface downloading. A must have. Great video!

      You have web interface downloading for the timelapse? Different web interface then?

      The camera as well as my Ender 3 V2 are linked to my Creality Sonic pad running on clipper. I access this on my laptop in the browser via the local IP address. It's opening Fluidd (Sonic pad) Here I can control the printer and everything you can do with Clipper including rendering your Timelapse in mpeg4 format and downloading it.@@CurryKitten

      My Nebula cam and Sonic pad don't do spaghetti detection. Creality support told me that it is not yet supported for this combination. Support will be in the next firmware release. You have the same combi, detection does work?

      On the Sonic pad you can turn on the AI in other settings and make further adjustments. Indeed, it indicates that it is experimental. I haven't tested it myself yet, I'll make a spaghetti pot tomorrow and see what happens. Thank you for your comment.

    You can actually root these nebula systems to run Klipper / Fluidd . mainsail etc... i use one, have all the features of creality plus the added bonus of it rooted to klipper. Also binned off the silly camera mount and designed my own to sit on the X gantry for ender 3v2 (its on thingiverse)

    Can I check the camera when I am not in the same network with printer by using mobile app? Does it share over creality cloud?

      Yes - it's the one thing I do like about creality cloud

    Thanks for this video!
    I just got my cam today and honestly, I wasn't impressed, mostly due to how much light is required to keep it in COLOR mode.
    I don't know about 7 months ago, when this vid was made, but today, with my 3V3Plus, the options on the camera for night vision just do not work. No matter which setting, it always behaves like it's forces into Auto mode.
    Therefore, if the light isn't that of the sun, it still goes B&W, where any other camera is still in full color and clear.
    Anyway, now that I've seen things in action, especially that AI functionality, I'll keep the camera. In fact, I did buy a 2nd printer of the same model and will order a camera for that one too.
    FINALLY, not having to worry about coming home to a bowl full of PASTA, is a good thing.
    LOL
    The only thing that I wish Creal. would do, is to have options built into CrealPrint to control the camera and to set a path to a drive where to save the videos/timelapse rather than on the cloud.
    Do you know if there is a way to download the vide from the cloud?
    Mind you, saying that, there is a "Videos" folder on the printer, but I can see that filling up memory fast.
    So if Creal Devs would add a menu option to copy all videos to a USB key would be amazing.
    Oh, about the USB port.... I have news for those who may find this interesting.
    Today, as a test, I connected my very tiny, mini USB HUB, connected the camera and the USB key that came with the printer and WOW! IT WORKS!
    The cam is sending video and I can read the USB Key on the printers!
    That's something!

    I used Octoprint and Octolapse to get to about the same place. They take over the printer with a Raspberry PI, and do about the same things. Very cool, watching your own time lapse videos ! Also a learning experience.

    This camera is regular UVC camera, like almost any other webcam. The only difference is night view. There is no any AI inside the camera itself.

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  Місяць тому

      Yes - it doesn't seem like anything special. I did try a few webcams with the printer, but none gor recognised. At lest they aren't charging a premium for it

    4:10 "so it doesn't dry out" eeeeeehehehehehe
    I wonder how hard this would be to integrate onto one of their older printers 🤔

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  6 місяців тому +2

      Yeah - obviously filiment absorbs water when left out, but it makes PLA so brittle that it always feels like it's dried out too much! As for the camera, they sell it with the console which I guess could intergrate into an older printer - but I've not checked that out properly

    I have a question, I haven’t yet bought the camera, but I am considering on buying it, I own an Ender 3 V2, which doesn’t appear to be compatible with the camera, but the camera itself can connect via USB, by any chance, would the camera work if plugged into a computer, rather than being plugged into a 3-D printer?

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  3 місяці тому

      I'm afraid the camera wire is all routed under my printer right now, so can't easily test. The answer at a guess is probably, but all the AI stuff seems linked in to the firmware on the printer itself - so I don't think you'd get any special features from it.

    • @Tim2716
      @Tim2716 3 місяці тому

      @@CurryKitten I don’t need any of the AI features, all I need is the ability to run time lapses. Thank you for the information.

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  3 місяці тому +1

      The timelapse feature is a host initiated thing, so you'll need something on the PC end that could do so. What the printer does is take a single screen shot on every layer and combines it into a movie. SO the webcam isn't doing anything on it's own as such

      According to the product website, it's not listed as being compatible - but I know people are using webcams with their S1's, so it's perhaps worth asking Creality to check

    • @KateKosmo
      @KateKosmo 3 місяці тому +1

      @@CurryKitten yeah I found out it's only compatible with the sonic pad. They do have an older webcam version specially made for the older ender 3 models called creality smart kit 2.0.

    If you use the Creality Print software, open the details page and then select the file on the bottom-left, you can export the video from there as MP4.
    Several people have designed a mount to attach the camera to the gantry, a much better option.

    • @CurryKitten

      I'll have a look at that. I've pretty much moved over to using Prusaslicer, but it would be handy to be able to grab the video a little easier.

    Can you use this with any printer with a USB c port?

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  6 місяців тому

      No - it really depends what your printer is running as you need some sort of software implementation to talk to the camera and set it up as a USB camera as well as talking to it about possible alerts.

      If China really want a picture of small pieces of PLA being printed then they can knock themselves out. Of course you don't have to use Creality Cloud, and you can scp the video file from your printer direct to the desktop if you want to

    My camera is giving me the lidar error. I see that there is an updated firmware that was uploaded in February. I will have to download it and see if that makes a difference.
