I got my first boombox - first generation - and it was beast.. and i got boombox 2, it was louder and bass was massive, i called "The Tank" even when i have partybox 310, boombox 2 still my favorite one, portable a powerful in the same time.. so on my experience i know the boombox 3 is real beast, and it will be massive upgrade for some one how still use first boombox or extreme 3.. encore is good, but just in bass, and bass is just a little part of sound, some time I won't to watch classic movie or hear relaxation music, that's when mid High important than bass, encore doesn't have the bright sound or details of boombox.. so, boombox 3 is the speaker for everything totally.
I actually have b&o peoplay p6 and beolit 20.. wich they cost the same as jbl BoomBox 2 and maybe more expensive.. i really like the balance of sound of them.. but jbl BoomBox 2!! Omg he's crash both of them, maybe BoomBox more sharpness not smoothy as B&o.. but i really like this profile of sound.. i only to get the same loud you have to pay around 3 to 4000$ .. + jbl is more durable.
The volume for the entire sound test was too high for the Extreme 3 to show off it's bass, but it still sounds impressive. My pick for sound quality is still the Encore
I find it performs it's best at about 80% volume, anything after that and it seems a bit flat, not sure if it's just a safety thing so that it doesn't damage the rads or it's just given all it's got.
As far as i love Xtreme 4 it had good deep bass especially at 50% volume or lower. But after 60% it has only good trebles and mid.. bass still there but not as deeply controlled as encore or boombox..
I've had the Xtreme 3 for a couple of years now and I can't believe it's still alive, after all the abuse it's received through mountain biking and kayaking out in the middle of the sea with it sat half submerged in salt water in the storage compartment. I use it every day for work as well and it still performs like the day I bought it. They're costly unit's, but you definitely get what you pay for. I didn't even realise the Boombox existed until I saw this video, so tempted to grab one 😅I think I'll hold out for the Boombox 4 to drop though, surely it can't be that far away 😁

You save up know that the eq changes as you increase the volume. Never play any of these speakers at 100% volume. The bass is greatly reduced in comparison to the rest of the frequency. The speaker will sound brighter and tinnier. 65-70% volume is the max volume before the bass starts to get reduced. If you need to play a speaker at 100% then that is the wrong speaker for you. You should get a more powerful one instead.
I’m thinking about getting the boombox 3 but i don’t know if I should get it in black or in Camo. I had a bb2 in Camo and i loved it but I’ve never had a black jbl and I’m really starting to like how the black looks on the BB3. I also want to buy a partybox 310/710 but I think I’ll wait for later on just in case JbL releases a partybox 510/something in between the 310 and 710.
I got both the BB3 and 310. Both are super nice. The 310 is more static so it stays in place more. I heard the 710 and it's super nice but it's bigger but has no battery. So it just depends if you need that or not. I would only get a 710 if you need a bigger area to be covered and will know that you will have power to it all the time. I like the flexibility of having a battery so.
i don't know why you not testing at 100% test. as i mentioned in every video that performance will appear at 100% volume. as mostly boombox 3 are becoming at 100% volume too bad bass hearing because of so much mid range speaker responsing

Hey man, I'm a fan of your detailed comparisons. There are no proper comparisons for the Tribit Stormbox Pro on UA-cam. Please make a video comparing it with the JBL Flip 6 & Flip 5 as they are all in the same segment yet the Stormbox is much cheaper.
Only thing im gonna say is that when you said PartyBoost “just works and skipping isnt an issue” i audibly laughed. That feature SUCKS. its constantly skipping out. And i know its not a distance thing or an interference thing because ive checked. The phone playing music toward them hs bluetooth 5.0. Itll work fine for about a minute and then get choppy for a second and then be fine for like another minute. Seems to be less of an issue the louder i turn up the volume (??????) idk if volume has anything to do with signal strength but ive seen so many weird things to suggest it does By the way im using two brand new jbl charge 5s
I don’t know about party boost but I’ve owned a total of 6 connect plus speakers and I usually don’t have an issue. Only problem I have is when people stand inbetween the speakers then it cuts out but if they have a clear line of sight to each speaker I never have an issue and I use them a lot.
Usually don't comment but this test setup is flawed. The dynamic range compression of the Xtreme is quite severe in the lowfreq range at high volumes. Best listened to at 50-75% volume. Definitely not max. The max volume difference of the boombox 3 AND xtreme 3 is minimal.
For this range price to max 500$, Pb 110 with no comparison, here Encore is the best, almost double cheaper then BB3.. in my country, BB3 is 580$, i pay for PB 710, 720$, 140$ different, i didnt say anything, BB3 or other boombox is the most overpriced speaker in JBL family..
If you are going portable i would say the partybox series would be good. It depends on your use case truly. I have a small collection of jble speakers including the clip, clip2, flip5, and the jbl partybox 310. Ask me any question about them and i will try to respond

@Rene Souza yeah my xtreme 3 is pretty good it’s even got an adjustable EQ so if you do want to turn the bass down or up you can. Same for the mids and treble. My JBL xtreme 3 is always on full bass and it vibrates my room a lot but it’s awesome.

I would upgrade to flip 6 but it’s AU$180 and the charge 5 is AU$200 so I don’t think the flip 6 is really worth it when u compare it to the charge 5 cause for $20 more you can get more sound and bass but it’s bigger and less easy to fit into a bag. I take my flip 5 to school and play music out of it and it just fits in my bag. I don’t know weather to get a charge 5 or flip 6.

The Partybox Encore doesn't just support SBC. It also supports AAC. That makes a noticeable difference in sound quality!

It’s not over priced it can float and is water proof. The PB speakers can not do that. It’s also more durable. That’s what you pay for.
