    Paper matters. I have gotten to the point of printing a dot grid on heavy paper.
    For notebooks, the Exceed brand is inexpensive, but does the job.
    The three sizes of Microns you used come in a set of three, as well as individually. Walmart carries them, at times, as well. They're what I use for map making.
    The trick is to practice. Now that you followed his example, riff on it. Have fun with it.

      Great stuff! Thanks so much!!! Ill try and find that 3 pack you speak of... have you ever used the bigger markers for anything? I imagine they might come in handy someday as well.... also, what type of 'heavy paper' do you use?

      @@ClassicRollPlayer 28 lbs paper. Most places carry it.
      I usually don't use much of the other markers. And, you will find that you use one more that others, so you may want to stock up on that. YMMV.

    I saw the same tutorial you used from Paths Peculiar a while back but never gave it a shot. I do happen to have a bullet journal now so I may have to take a crack at a dungeon map soon rather than my usual regional / world maps I post. Great video and cheers!

    Wow, yeah, this was really impressive. I'm going to see if I can draw like this digitally on my tablet (which has a pen).

    Anyone know if you can just use a Copic grey marker rather than the "Winsor & Newton Promarker, Ice Grey 1" marker, and if so which Copic Color ## is probably closest?

    • @ClassicRollPlayer
      @ClassicRollPlayer  4 роки тому +1

      obviously as a beginner I do not... hope someone can help you. Why are you asking? Are they better?

      @kholliday 4 роки тому +1

      @@ClassicRollPlayer Can't speak to whether they are better as I don't own the Winsor & Newton one. Was curious as that one is out of stock on Amazon and I already have Copics in various shades of grey. Maybe I'll just give them a shot and see how it looks.

      @@kholliday ah...that makes sense... let me know how it goes! Like he says on his site, he does MOST of his shading in Photoshop anyway. I had to go over my paper like 5 times to make the shadow look like his from photoshop. SO if you have that ability, maybe just worry about the photoshop side of things. I have Paint.Net and will try and figure out how to do it there someday. I'm gonna do his castle tutorials next.

    Why shadows? There are no lights in dungeons.

      Good question! Maybe theres a cracked roof or you are seeing the torch... ya, I got nothing.

      Because it makes the map easier to read. It’s not a realistic painting, it’s map.
