- In the very first episode of The Life of Ryan (that's me Ryan Meeks) I welcome you into a micro version of my screenwriting process. I know I am still learning what my screenwriting process is, but the point is to document it and hopefully, you can learn along with me. Writing a 1-minute script is harder than I thought. I made some mistakes and it isn't perfect, but we are moving forward anyway. Thanks for watching and please subscribe.

Loved the atmosphere of your video, and I like how you went in-depth with your process and how the idea had evolved through the script writing process. Subscribed !
Congrats bro, your videos are being promoted to a wider audience. I saw this video in the recommended
Loved this video! Thank you!
Thank you for your video! Love looking at peoples process.
D4Darius is the best man, also this video is really inspiring, currently stuck in a rut
He truly is. I've learned more from him and Simon Cade than I ever learned getting my bachelor's degree. I hope you are able to get out of your rut. I've been stuck in one for a while myself.
Where has this video been all my life😭, thanks bro. This is the type of content lve been wanting to see
I'm glad I could help out!
Enjoyed learning about your writing process. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Thank you! I am working on getting one out soon
@@thelifeofryan8683 Cool - have you storyboarded the short film and shot it yet?
You inspired me with this video. Thank you.
Good work man. Thanks and congrats from India
Hi Ryan! Thank you for your video.
Thanks for this Ryan. Some great tips in here! Appreciate the share and the inspiration. Gets me back to thinking of micro shorts, which I haven't made in a while :-D
Yeah they are good practice and fun to do.
Thank you. Writing my first script and this video was very useful.
I'm glad I could help
thanks, Ryan!
So it's the character, the problem or situation they are facing and react, fix it and then see the results. Thanks for the tips.
Well here it is night , hope you got a great night by me subscribing your channel ❤
It’s been for months I’m exited to see the movie. When will it be out?
Thank you for this video
I'm trying to get back into the things I love since my friend passed. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hey, how are you doing now?
@@spaceclottey6250 Better! It's touch and go but the worst of it is over I think. Been doing better at work and i have a few passion projects.
First video I’ve seen of yours. I’ma subscribe
Thank you!
I want to see the result!
Very professional you'll have plenty subs in no time 👍
Thank you. That is definitely what I am hoping for.
I've been trying to write a short animation (4 seconds to 1 minute) based on my graphic novel for my ad campaign. It seems writing for an existing universe with established lore can be more challenging than creating something entirely new. I've been struggling with this approach...
Dude - seriously keep doing what you're doing. Video looks great, is informative and helpful :) As someone trying to make it in a similar way, i know how hard it is. Keep going!!!
Thank you so much for the encouragement! Same to you too.
@@thelifeofryan8683 Appreciate it, will be keeping active :)
Who is the quite calm guy with warm voice 😌
Good luck man you seem a kind soul
Thank you. I appreciate the kind words.
D4Darious is a fucking legend!
I love his stuff!
Where's the final result? Coming soon I hope!
I'm working on it one step at a time.
Why the heater complaint distraction?
We dont get to see the film?
Do entrants get paid for participating in 1min movie competition if they won?How do they rewarded if so?
The greatest break up
Thanks
Loved the video. One quite observation. I think your background music is too loud. Also, it's kinda sad for a video that isn't sad. I would go back to the drawing board on the music choice. Thanks for the video.
day day day day day
I stuck at A
Nice material. The film could use a better ending, as I see it now.
Thanks for the video. Just an opinion but the 'stolen present' idea is a little bit too complex. The opening could have been just the delivery (Amazon-type delivery) of a new guitar (my first guitar etc) for example. With any short story, economy of information in the setup is the key. Overall a 1 - 2 -1 type ratio between beginning, middle, and end - So, get in quick and exit quickly so you can spend time in the middle. So, in this case we see a guy receive a guitar, struggle all night to play it against the clock, to reveal he has learnt Happy Birthday to play to his child...who then picks up her present, which is a new guitar too.
Great Idea! Thank you for sharing.
I am sure that your movie is going to be great but I wonder whether a one minute movie might not be better executed if you maintained the "unity of time" - so it's akin, almost to a monologue or a joke a tale with punchline that simply takes place in real time. And sure , I can imagine a cut suggesting a time break but shooting a story that takes place over say, 12 hours or longer in the space of a minute would seem to me to to refuse to take advantage of the restricted time you are giving yourself for the story to unravel.
I could also imagine BEGINNING the movie when you play "happy birthday" and your daughter expressing surprise because you can't play guitar and you tell her that the music fairies taught you while she was sleeping and as you leave the room you tell your wife that you are exhausted . You got no sleep because you had to learn that tune because the doll you bought her was stolen or you left it at work...
Great idea! I already finished it though. I love what you are saying here though. Something I will keep in mind for the future.
Ryan you have beautiful forehead, nice and kissable and full of ideas!
