That skin fact is interesting. I didn't know that! Bro idk how or why you find this more appealing. The only thing I like is how gun mechanics seem a bit more realistic. Like the aiming seems a lot harder!
@@ZestyPolvo a few reasons you'll usually see cited when people talk about their preference for 0.62: movement is generally jankier but ultimately results in a more deliberate playstyle; the already mentioned Aim Down Sights system and gun handling; the ragdoll physics; the skybox; the balance of the damage, health, and medical system; the ambient noises and gunshot noises, especially the "crack" sound of a bullet breaking the sound barrier along with nearby bullet impacts; zombies are deadlier; lighting effects. a lot of what this culminates in is something intangible called mood or atmosphere. the fact remains though that 0.62 is undoubtedly less stable and buggier. here's a good breakdown from a very neutral french observer: ua-cam.com/video/jOi9mjQxsb8/v-deo.html
@@lemonbeans this may be controversial but i much prefer the .62 character status messages instead of the current hud status icons. The messages were far less intrusive on the screen, they could be a lot more descriptive like when you got sick, you could easily understand what your symptoms were. They were also much more realistic and interesting in terms of interactions with other players. People used to tell you that they were “starving” or the classic “I have a funny taste in my mouth” and “I feel nauseas”. Now they say “My hunger is red” or “my health is red flashing” or “I have the sickness icon”. I know the devs would never go back, but one can only wish. @@tomhocking5606 well it's supposed to be a survival game, your suppose to figure out what sickness you have, and you can tell it by: what your temperature is, If you're puking, if your shivering or coughing, it gives you all the sound indications and reactions you just need to figure it out. The survival aspect was a lot more difficult and made the game much more immersive, the ragdoll affects themselves make kills so much more satisfying, the mechanics felt blocky but more realistic, gun play was more realistic and a little more difficult (which is why a lot of servers have added "legacy gun controls" There are a lot of things about the game that FEEL better but are actually less immersive. I like any and all versions of the game though. No real preference for either (legacy or current).
