I'm the drummer's mother and yes I am partial, but it's so evident by everyone's reaction, I ask myself , how is it possible for them to be so underrated and unnoticed for so long? These boys are musicians. their live shows are amazing, why they have a big following especially in Europe. They're so creative and talented, I promise you I don't care what genre of music or artist you listen to, whether it be Michael Jackson all the way down to Sade I promise you, there is going to be 1 or more songs you like. They are not mainstream, They're so creative and humble & the definition of perseverance especially after the bus crash in Spain. They had just played Jay Leno after 9/11 they were promoting anthology. They're all lucky to be alive. Took them many years to recover Dryden was inches from being like Christopher Reeve and in fear of never being able to sing again. With that coupled with less or no promoting & airplay you basically don't exist hence why you never heard of. There are so many talented bands that have slipped through the cracks as a result of the industry only giving airplay to the mainstream therefore deciding for us what to listen to. I don't care how bad a song is, played enough, 2 things will happen , either it's irritating or you love it & their banking on the latter. So much more, if you get a chance, pull up the video "These days" Fromthe BET Awards what's funny is my son used to play with Snoop Dogg we lived next door to one another ,their paths have yet to cross. Thank you so much for all the good words and the rest of you for all the good comments. By the way I stumbled on this, I'm a huge Blondie fan and loved watching y'alls reaction. Your Cosgrove's momma? Pls tell the guys they helped shape part of our childhood/teen years❤️🙌 my brother and i use to blast this song as loud as possible in high school parking lot every morning 😁 even got the school cop doing the dances with us all. Some of the best memories I had in those days. I'm 38 now with several kid of my own whom I've made sure to pass it down to. Daughter started college this year and she plays it similarly as I did. The guys definitely have our support and ❤️ for several decades. Give em a huge massive bear hug for us please.
I've described this video in the past as a love letter to Michael and my opinion has never changed. From the kid dancing in a mask, to the drummer's single glove, the glove chair with a baby chimp, the girl in the werewolf mask, the light-up sidewalk, the exploding car, the Thriller dance guys, the dude with the Thriller eyes at the end, etc. It feels like I find another reference to Michael every time I watch this video. It's just so damn good at everything it tries to do.
Not easy to cover the King of Pop, but this song’s driving riff is a natural for a low-tech garage band guitar sound that this band brings to the farm table.
A fun back story -- my sister was an RRT, and a registered CPR instructor. The practice dummy is known as Resusci-Annie. Students are told to shake the dummy's shoulder and ask, "Annie, are you okay?" Evidently MJ knew about or had taken a CPR class, and and used that phrase in the refrain of the song. You're an absolute delight, Mr. Leo. Keep doing what you're doing. ♥

That little dancing kid knew the pandemic was coming! 😂 But seriously all the MJ tributes and Easter eggs in this video are great. The mask, the chimp, the lighted sidewalk, the lean, etc.
Hey guys sorry not trying to sound like a dick but doesn't everybody know what an ant farm is it's a two-sided glass structure that you set on your table and you fill it with sand and then you put ants in it and give him a little bit of sugar and they make a hole series of tunnels and started Society so the band is thinking did aliens do that to us hence Alien Ant Farm
I remember these guys. One of the best MJ cover versions I know. And it´s the only song I know from this band, looks like they lived to deliver just this one thing. And if you ask me, I love good cover versions. They always provide a new look on the songs I love or might just start loving for the cover version. Pay respect to the original, while at the same time add something new and interesting of your own to it. That´s how it goes.
Oh God,I forgot about this song .... another favourite. I so miss this era of music ....... ALL music was great. ..... regardless of the genre. RnB, Rock, Hip Hop, Pop Punk, Rap, Funk ..... it was ALL GREAT.
The dancing kid with the mask was like 19 years ahead of his time, dude looks prepared for a pandemic 😂 such a fun song though, they're a blast live too.

Alright.. let's pull out the easter eggs for ya! 1:27 and 1:46 The kid is wearing a mask, like how Michael wore one later on in life. Note that the drummer here is only wearing 1 glove on his right hand. The same hand that Michael wore his glove on. 5:28 He's sitting with a chimpanzee. The chimp is wearing a diaper, like Bubbles, Michael's chimp, did. 5:37 The sidewalk lights up wherever they are stepping. Throwback to Billie Jean. 6:00 Straight from the extended version of the video for Black or White. Michael jumped on the car, did that, and then destroyed the car. 6:08: King of the hill guys with the Thriller moves. 6:12 Michael always stood on that vent to have the air blow up from under him. Here you go. 6:22 to 6:36 More throwback to Billie Jean. Everything Michael touched lit up. 9:00 Throwback to the end of Thriller, when Michael turned back toward the camera and had the werewolf eyes. Good stuff in this video!
@@tracieleeburnett3395 Liked it? Not only did they ask for permission to do this, but Michael wanted them to do this! The throwbacks, dancing in front of his parent's house, the entire lot!

I really hope you blow up bigger than some of these other reaction channels that add nothing to the video, other than being annoying. The amount of talent involved is amazing between the talent the choreography the cinematography and even that little kid dancing lol there's so much talent here
Dude, I fucking LOVE your reactions!! I've been around since you had around 10k subscribers and I originally liked you because you smoked a joint at the beginning of each video. Almost a year later, you are by far and away my favorite. Keep it up my man!!
an amazing tribute. Love this one. I'm a life long MJ fan (he was literally my first celeb crush when I was 8 lol) and this is one of the very few covers/tributes that I can get down with.
This is widely considered one of the best rock covers in modern history. Another one you should check out is Careless Whisper by Seether, originally by Wham!/George Michael.
YES!!! Saw them live a few times. Got punched in the face in the mosh pit during Peaches.. lol I also saw them at the Liberty Lunch in Austin. I was 17 or 18, maybe? It was this tiny club and I met them afterward. No VIP pass, just $15 to get in and walking around to the band entrance during the last song. I love Dune Buggy, Naked and Famous, and Front Porch... but honestly, tha whole album is amazing.
So many references. Drummer wearing one glove, the chair is a glove, light up sidewalk, the lean, the monkey, Thriller dance, the eyes at the end, the boy with the mask. Of course jumping on the car. Crazy how creative they were with this video.
@@iamperplexed4695 SMH I stated a fact. Thats how fickle the charts are. CCR only had 2 #1s but they are one of the best of their era. But yes it was better than Jesus Juice.
Holy crap! This reaction video was exactly what I needed to have a better day. You look you're having just absolute blast watching/listening. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you again for cheering me up I'm 43 and I found out today I have cancer but it's all good i have angles watching over me and plus I'm a fighter. So thank you so much.
Your best reaction yet! It's impossible not to groove to this song! Another great one by them is "These Days" where they film themselves crashing a red carpet
In an interview with the band, they said they had trouble replicating MJ secret weapon in all his songs, the way MJ used his voice. The way MJ sang he created a second percussion which created an additional hook in the song which made his songs so catchy. I think AAF did well with it, it's a fun cover.
There's a video of a live performance where people were making fun of one of MJ's backup dancers because he wasn't doing the lean correctly. It wasn't as widely known that some sort of rig was used (like c'mon, do you really think someone can balance & stay upright at that angle lol) not realizing that his rig had actually broke and he _couldn't_ do it.
@@OGGOAT23 No they aren't. Really don't give a shit if wiki says they are. They aren't even close. They're a rock band. Always have been. Funny for those of us who grew up in the 90's watching clowns claim anything with a guitar is nu-metal, though. AAF is far closer to pop-punk than anything metal.
It's really such a gorgeous and freakin' cool homage to the King of Pop, it rocked back then and it still does today!!! Hadn't heard and seen this video in so long, thank you!!! X
Lol. It surprised me years ago as well. I'm old enough to remember when MJ was really cool with thriller. Then I found heavy metal. It's funny how Eddie van halen played with Michael. MJ wasn't afraid of the guitar

Good ones!
6:00 MJ flag
6:12 Throwback to Marilyn Monroe
8:43 MJ's high water pants
nice list.
Liz Taylor tattoo on the guys back at the end . She was a close friend of MJ.
The inflatable chair is a silver glove
Excellent shit! I❤Michael! This I know he loved too! For DAMN Sure!
@@tracieleeburnett3395 Liked it? Not only did they ask for permission to do this, but Michael wanted them to do this! The throwbacks, dancing in front of his parent's house, the entire lot!
I really enjoy when covers are inventive and well done. Sometimes they're equally as good, just in completely different ways.
Man... there are SO many Easter eggs in this to other Michael Jackson videos... AMAZING!!!
Aye man just gotta say I know you prolly hear this alot, but I REALLY enjoy your reactions man. I really hope you blow up bigger than some of these other reaction channels that add nothing to the video, other than being annoying. You seem like you're growing quickly, and I hope it continues to happen and you can be completely financially sufficient from your videos alone. Keep it up man!
Bro. So many good songs by this band. "These days" has a killer video held on a roof top.
Dude, I have been replaying this reaction for at least two hours. Thank you!
OMG I thought I was going to be the only one doing that 😅Too much fun 😁 I haven't seen this video in so long but I can't take my eyes off of Leo 😂😂😂
@@scarletjohnston741 I have never played or shared anything on the You Tube so much!
The amount of talent involved is amazing between the talent the choreography the cinematography and even that little kid dancing lol there's so much talent here
Quite possibly one of my favorite reactions of all time, Great Job...
I'm not the only one who sees the face in the pillow?! 🤯😂
I loved everything about this video. All of the MJ references throughout the video. Def one of the most underrated bands from the late 90s/early 2000s
This is widely considered one of the best rock covers in modern history. Another one you should check out is Careless Whisper by Seether, originally by Wham!/George Michael.
Love your reactions,
And the main reason why I'm here is , this is the place where I'm getting all the songs for my playlist ❤️.
One of my all-time favorite covers by anybody.
Hey man you should check Peaches by the presidents of the United States of America
I second this!! I named one of my dogs after this song 🤣
Fun band lol
YES!!! Saw them live a few times. Got punched in the face in the mosh pit during Peaches.. lol
I also saw them at the Liberty Lunch in Austin. I was 17 or 18, maybe? It was this tiny club and I met them afterward. No VIP pass, just $15 to get in and walking around to the band entrance during the last song. I love Dune Buggy, Naked and Famous, and Front Porch... but honestly, tha whole album is amazing.
Dune buggy is my favorite. Y’all heard the singers childs music group “Casper baby pants”?
Yeah! also Their song Kitty.
So many references. Drummer wearing one glove, the chair is a glove, light up sidewalk, the lean, the monkey, Thriller dance, the eyes at the end, the boy with the mask. Of course jumping on the car. Crazy how creative they were with this video.
Interesting fact MJs version topped at #7 Alien Ant Farm took it to #1.
I mean, if you're only going to have one hit song...
also, a Grammy
To be fair, the first time I heard it and I was like "wow this sounds like a Micheal Jackson song" and my friend introduced me to older MJ albums
So, you are saying its better than MJ's version.
Who else tried to lean like that back in the day when they first saw this. Freshman year high school for me HAHA
😂😂
It was late 80s for me when I seen Michael Jacksons Smooth Criminal video. And, yes I fell on my face trying it lol.
Don't remember how old I was but I do remember face planting in my front yard and not trying it again 😂
You gotta have stupid weights or magnets in your heels.......
@@tonygunk9810 its the shoes man, its the shoes!! LOL
Thank you again for cheering me up I'm 43 and I found out today I have cancer but it's all good i have angles watching over me and plus I'm a fighter. So thank you so much.
There is all kinds of Michael Jackson easter eggs all over this video. Even small ones you might not notice at first
Your best reaction yet! It's impossible not to groove to this song! Another great one by them is "These Days" where they film themselves crashing a red carpet
I knew you'd find this eventually you smooth criminal you.
😂😉
One of the best covers there is they did Michael proud he approved it and loved it. Every member of the band killed it
This may sound wrong but can you do the song "Pepper" by Butthole Surfers . Im sure many subscribers know it.
Absolutely
🤟🏼🤘🏼 yes plz!🤞🏼
Hell yes
Hell yes!!
Definitely! MR. Video you need to listen to Pepper!
In an interview with the band, they said they had trouble replicating MJ secret weapon in all his songs, the way MJ used his voice. The way MJ sang he created a second percussion which created an additional hook in the song which made his songs so catchy. I think AAF did well with it, it's a fun cover.
“How am I gonna do MJ stuff” he says 😂😂 Well played whoever suggested this one 👍. ✌️
Your right not everybody can cover MJ. In fact almost no one can cover MJ and make it work. But these one hit wonders did. Amazing!
Movies and These Days say hi...
Mariah Carey did with Ill be there!!!
MJ did that lean by having special shoes that would hook into a mount point on the floor.
even after they explained the mechanism, watching the show, they are super stealthy getting to their marks. magic.
Still takes incredible core strength to do it
@@richardeberhart451 nah - any fatass can do it in a fun house *source.. i am a fatty ;) lol it's a great trick though!
😳🤔😣well damn😂
Fantastic cover. Talented band. They performed this on one of the late night talk shows and it was superb.
You wasn’t ready lol
I think this is one of the best reviews yet. Loved this cover. You're right, not anyone can do this. That's a tough man to cover.
Early 00s days of boy bands and nu metal
AAF is neither of those....
@@davebcf1231 they definitely nu metal look it up..
Doesn't matter how you class them, they still suck.
@@davebcf1231 even Wikipedia says they are nu metal and this song is too..every website says so they know better than you
It's really such a gorgeous and freakin' cool homage to the King of Pop, it rocked back then and it still does today!!!
I came back to catch this again, and I have to say after eatching all your other reactions, and coming back to this; we would be good friends if we ever met. We have many similarities, lol.
Was magically hoping you'd one day react to this video and it didn't disappoint.
This reaction just made my day my dude!! Thanks for the energy with this awesome jam!
Is it me or did the young lad dancing look normal with that mask on. It only dawned on me near the end.
The vids old, just seems to fit with today.
One of my most favorite bands! Such a fabulous cover!
This song just reminded me of The Offspring “Pretty Fly For A White Guy”
They sure made a banger out of this. Fun video.
The guy at the end is Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers.
ITS IS NOT
I LOVE AAF!! I saw them in concert only a few years ago and they still sounded great.
Their music always brings back good memories
This shit was big on MTV back in the day... Also the scary guy at the end of the video is Flea. The bassist from the Red Hot Chili Peppers
No shit ??!! I never paid attention enough to recognize him in the end holy shit!!
The video was sooo good. The sidewalk lighting up like in Billy Jean, the move with the shoe hook that MJ actually patented, it was great.
