@@laurencemckennaEven for you that you are on a payroll he looks like a flopp. I can’t wait for next season when we replace vvd ,salah ,Alison with average cheap players so that the end of fsg comes one day
Cherki's being compared to Grav's story is over simplifying thou tbh. It's not the same. Cherki's work rate is far more sporadic then Gravs has ever been. Grav wasn't affored the same game time at bayern which sparked his concerns. In gravs 1 season at bayern and the one in which he came to us- Cherki played around 2899 minutes more then him which is weird to think (22/23 and 23/24). Granted Cherki is much more of an attacker role wise. Great talent without a doubt, but that 'fight for the badge' element of his game, without the ball is the question mark. But at the same time, he came into the 1st team very very young. And that part of the game hasn't been enforced on him until hindsight has took effect. The french league isn't a definitive stepping stone for the prem imo. The german league fairs better physically, hence why LFC shop there. In this current LFC squad, Cherki wouldn't be relied on for 90mins at this stage in his career and at this point of his development. He's still a prospect. And that is exactly why ours and other teams scouts look a him. He's just getting a look in, because Lyon are in financial straights, because he could just double his transfer fee with like 8 good games in the prem. Xavi Simmons is the ideal for us. Clears Cherki's floor and matches his ceiling. For sure more expensive, but in this day and age if we want to be a big club. We should act like a big club tbh. I can think of so many other 10s that have less question marks with just as much upside. if we go for Cherki it's going to be a business decision not a scouting need. He does make football worth watching though undeniable talent.
@@amanjali5520 and he definitely be like a Shapiro for us. Excellent when called upon. I think it would be a great signing, he’s incredibly talented, the fee would be massively reduced because of OL’s financial situation, and his wages wouldn’t be ridiculous because he’s still young and relatively unproven
I've stopped caring about rumours for a bit now, it's so much nicer to not even get involved in these discussions, the armchair Twitter experts really annoy me now. I just let the laptop boys do their thing. They are the ones getting 6-7 figures a year to do this for a living, not me after all. If they think he's the next big breakthrough waiting to happen just go and get him, I'll give him a chance no matter what
Just watch him, scouting is not that complicated. Talented no doubt, far too inconsistent and has not shown a sign of that changing since he was a teenager breaking onto the scene in France. Again, absurd talent. But his game is not suited to highly structured wingplay. Far too inconsistent for our aims and with the pool of talent we already have in the squad. Rumors like this bother me
If Cherki joins Liverpool, I am almost certain he would play in midfield. On top of that, the rest of these complaints regarding Cherki sound like similar claims made about a certain Dutch midfielder that’s been bossing the league under Slot this season. I’m not necessarily against this transfer for £20m. Still an incredibly young player.
I’m a Lyon and Liverpool fan so I watch both teams every week. You are spot on here. Cherki is an incredible talent, one of the most talented young players I’ve ever seen. The best product I’ve seen come out of France (bar Mbappe) in terms of pure talent. But the reality is he is so so so so so inconsistent. Many games he throws his hands around.. is invisible for most of the game, and doesn’t think he needs to run much. But then every now and then you get a performance from Cherki that will convince you he is the best French talent since Zidane
After your first video i was like yeah you don’t know him and just listen to media i stopped taking those kinda reports seriously for a long time and gravenberch as you mentioned had that kind of reputation too before we signed him This cherki situation reminds me a lot of the gravenberch one I am glad you did more research
Always good to reflect and good on you for updating from the other video… but… the way you describe him sounds a bit like Mario Banotelli… He may even be the best player in the world, but it’s a team sport…. If a player doesn’t turn up consistently and work as part of the team… imo forget it! Lfc players are committed and give their last breath for the club, and fans love them for that.
He’s the biggest young talent in world football. Ball manipulation is unbelievable…. I’d love for us to snap him up but I think it’s massively unlikely, like less than 5% possibility
They’re similar players. Harvey has better natural fitness and defensive ability, while Cherki is one of the most talented players of his generation from a technical standpoint.
Hes not as good as everyone thinks, he wont do good in a high energy team like lfc as well. Loses the ball too much and will struggle in the prem. We should just focus on getting a dm in January.
They actually are for a players who’s really a number 10 I thought they would be poor they are actually pretty decent an if you actually kno ball an have played the game you kno this kid has talent
He plays in a really shite Lyon team in a really bad moment. Watch him for France and you will see how talented the guy is when he is in a positive environment
@@Footballlad731 his game looks good don’t get me wrong, his highlights are amazing but the numbers don’t look as good. Would you say 1 goal 6 assists last season and 4 goals 6 assists the season before that are good numbers?
Am I the only person who feels a move for Rayan Cherki is very similar to a certain Ryan Gravenberch? Both players broke through at an incredibly young age and were labeled as “generational talents.” Both have been touted as lazy, egotistical players. Both somewhat stagnated at an early age, possibly due to a poor environment. I think that people generally correlate ego with being a terrible person, but the truth is that nearly every player at that level has an ego, and when football comes so easy to these levels of talent at a young age, they need to be put in an environment where they are outside of their comfort zones. I think that a lot of criticisms regarding Cherki could be the fact he has always been a big fish in a relatively small pond. A young, impressionable player like Cherki could have a change in mindset if he’s put in Liverpool’s environment, and is constantly being tested by Slot.
He is no better than what we already have,Elliot, chiesa yet to start there season.but if we are looking then should be mbeumo and semeydo should definitely be the profile to challenge the first team for me they tick all the boxes.fsg purse is always empty so wishful thinking.
Not sure why you would go for Mbeumo, a player that exclusively plays right wing, when you have the best forward in the world playing that position and showing no signs of slowing down.
Sounds like crisis communications team are working on a profile to address the ‘he’s a bad guy’ narrative. Think im trusting your instinct. If it’s real, I’d trust the team if they said they vetted his character. I’m so happy to support a club where character matters. Not so happy to be in a country where it doesn’t😅
