Liverpool's banana skin is always during the busy Christmas season. If we can negotiate that period ahead with a healthy lead, plus a couple of new key signings, then I'll start believing what can be by end of season
What’s impressive about this team isn’t just the fact that they play an attractive brand of football going forward, they’ve been able to hurt teams in multiple ways whether it’s playing fast, they can be lethal on the counter attack, being calm when building up, they play with purpose and they’re such a difficult team to break down defensively as they defend like a unit whether it’s at the back, the midfield or even the attackers pressing from the front and tracking back. Outside of Mohamed Salah Trent Alexander Arnold Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson who were elite in their respective positions and were well established players Salah isn’t just the best right winger in the league, on current form, he’s probably the best player in the world and he continues to put up great numbers irrespective of who their manager is, VVD is still the best CB in the world, Trent is an elite right back and Alisson (when fit) remains a top class goalkeeper, Slot has also been able to bring out the best in players who had a limited role under Klopp, Luis Diaz has added goals to his game and is a more complete winger, and despite how form after he was mismanaged, Cody Gakpo is finally playing on the left wing which is his best position, after all of these years of trying to sign a proper defensive midfielder, the solution to their problem was in their team the entire time as Ryan Gravenberch has been cooking in that number 6 role in a double pivot next to Alexis Mac Allister, even Curtis Jones who was in and out of the team has been in impressive form as well and we’re finally seeing the best of him, at the back, Ibrahima Konate is in the best form of his career he’s one of the best CBs in the world right now and has formed a solid partnership with VVD and both of their profiles complement each other so well and they’ve put many players in their back pocket, even Kostas Tsimikas who was a fringe player for many years is challenging Andy Robertson for a starting spot at left back and Kelleher who’s the best backup keeper in the league has done well in Alisson’s absence and is good enough to be the first choice goalkeeper on any team he goes to. As easy as it is to downplay his ability as a manager and I get that his job is so easy because Liverpool have a lot of great players, at the same time his philosophy as a manager suits their team and it’s a formula that’s working out for them. Their team is much more balanced and solid in every aspect of their game under Slot than it was under Klopp where his style of play was more intense and chaotic which worked for them at times, but it wasn’t always sustainable which is one of the reasons why they were up and down and had seasons where they were plagued with injuries as one season they look like the best team in the world, competing for a quadruple, next season, they’re barely even getting champions league football. On top of that, Liverpool have an ability to consistently get results and win games even without being at their best as not every game is easy at this level and they know how to win in an “ugly way” as they can come away with a win even when they don’t play well. Given how inconsistent Real Madrid and Manchester City have been recently, outside of Barcelona, Liverpool are the best team in the world and they have what it takes to win it all this season and Slot has come in and has revolutionized their squad and it’ll be interesting to see how many trophies they’ll win this season.
Arne Slot has exceeded expectations in his debut season at Liverpool. Unlike certain clubs, at least they got the right bald Dutch manager. When he first took over, as good as their team looked as they had an elite squad, there was a feeling that in the post Klopp era, they would be in a period of transition as it’s not always easy to follow in the footsteps of a legendary manager and get used to a different style of football and on top of that, due to their lack of signings in the summer, many of their fans had doubts as to how the team was going to do as they barely strengthened their squad as a result of that not many people saw them in the title race going into the season despite having the best right winger goalkeeper center back and right back in the league and didn’t make a lot of big changes. Fast forward to November and Liverpool are absolutely flying, they’re top of the premier league having won 10 out of 11 games (30 out of 33 points), they have a solid attack, for the most part their defense hasn’t put a single foot wrong, they’re the only team that has a perfect record in the champions league having won 4 out of 4 games, they’re in 1st place in both competitions and Slot has won 14 out of their first 16 games at the club and they’ve been playing at an incredible level and at the rate in which they’re going, I don’t know who’s stopping them. For those who say that they were doing well because they started the season with an easy schedule, their recent games and big wins have proven that they’re the real deal and their current form isn’t a fluke at all and they can beat anybody right now. Due to the fact that Manchester City aren’t as strong as they were in previous seasons although we expect them to eventually bounce back as you still can’t write them off, this is probably their best chance to win the title this season and they need to make sure that the gap between them opens up so that they don’t go on their 15+ games in a row winning streak after the turn of the year and the other teams have been inconsistent as well and with Liverpool being the most consistent team in the league, if they keep up the pace and other teams continue to slip up, I could see them running away with the title like they did in the 2019-20 season.
Beautiful documentary!!! I never knew Slot's crazy history... This guy is a born winner and he is so young... Many coaches would love to be in his shoes but no one can say he doesn't deserve his flowers
As a dutchie, non-feyenoord fan i really like the way Slot is doing at Anfield. His tactics, calm and steady way to let the guys do there jobs, his performance at the club and media....i love it! The Chinese saying: be careful what you wish for....D*mn. This time the wish is hopefully smaller than the result. I wish the club all the best and let this be the season that Arne can show what a great person he is. YNWA!!
you should cover fiorentina, they have been a nice suprise winning 7 out of their last 8 games and are currently standing in 3rd place, i didnt expect them to do this well after their 2nd conference league final loss in a row although this time things arent looking the best in conference with them losing to a cyprot team and chelsea being insane but they could pull off either a 3rd final loss or even win it this time
Im a long term Liverpool fan, stood on the Kop as standing was being phased out. Relax, he hasn't even had a full active transfer window yet. I'd love him to be as good as we think he might be but all this congratulatory praise is far too premature. Recruitment and adapting that new squad is the real challenge, we were set up very well for his arrival.
i think the correct win prediction for me is going to be a 45 percent chance that Liverpool wins it, a 45 percent chance for city given they're the comeback kings in the pl and even thought they're 9 points off a 10 percent chance to arsenal
Building an ARMY at LIVERPOOL and I'm a LIVERPOOL FAN but thats just outrageous TITLE we've only played 11 GAMES FFS now everyone is a expert on SLOT/LIVERPOOL
think its just a personal issue on your end or a comprehension issue. You can build an army at any stage of the season and if you actually bothered to watch the video i reminded people on multiple occassions that its still early. You don't have to be an expert to look at Slot's managerial journey and relate it to his time at liverpool. learn to listen and comprehend instead of spewing nonesense from being so emotional.
"Arne Slot has exceeded expectations in his debut season at Liverpool" is what many people in England say. Not the expectations of the millions of Feyenoord fans. We all knew what was going to happen. In July I already told some tourists from Liverpool here in Rotterdam that they were going to have a fantastic season with Arne Slot. In my 50 years of visiting the Feyenoord home-matches, I never saw better football and never a better manager. I think at the end of his career we will all see him as the best Dutch coach/manager ever. Hope he will win a lot at Liverpool and than returns at Feyenoord!
Great video bro thanks for taking the time to compile it from.a Scouse Red (living in Spain)
Uk what's the craziest part is, feyenord fans say he becomes an absolute tactical genius after the mid of every season. 🥶🥶🥶
As a Feyenoord fan, I can say that under Slot we played the second half of the season better than the first half of the season
Yeah liverpool always play better in the second half
