When SKYNYRD Jammed With Steve Gaines For The First Time, Allen Went To Ronnie An Said: Ronnie ..! I Love This Guy Steve ..! He’s Great ..! We Gotta Have Him In SKYNYRD ..! The Rest Is Southern Rock History ~ God Bless Allen Collins🕊
I’m actually the guy who started the guitar picks thing. I swear to God. Visited him in October 2018, played Tuesday’s Gone (his favorite LS tune) at his graveside....and tucked one of my picks under his name plate. The next time I went, there were a couple more. The next time, several more, so on, so forth. Pretty damn cool, to say the least.
Back in July 2000 my late Boyfriend Paul Howe and I stayed on Steve Holland( guitar player RIP Stevie! You butthole, ) his sailboat TUESDAYS GONE.for two months on Jekell Island. I love everything about these guys .
Aww Allen RIP. I felt for him being paralyzed myself. I was raised with these boys. Loved Allen's great sence of humor and very kind eyes. The best guitarist ( and Gary your the best too) . I mean he was 18 doing that shit on Freebird. Fly high my angel
Crazy to think people with such amazing talent who created these amazing things that escaped people from reality were conscious and lived a full life just like us but now lay in there with their soul’s unknown location.
the first time i visited allen, I spent 2 years building his signature 58' Korina Explorer. i drove all the way to jacksonville to hand deliver it to him. being in jacksonville for the first time, and going to see him for the first time with that guitar in my hand was the heaviest moment in my life as a musician... i cried walking up to his grave just wanting to give that guitar to him so bad and wanting him to play it because i built it for him... and i play it live and keep his legacy alive..... it truly was rough but powerful moment for me.... i finally in a sense got be meet and somewhat be close to the man that changed my life...... forever
@@ClassicRockSymphonyman, that is beautifully deep. I felt every bit of emotion through your response. What a true gentleman you are, much love and respect ❤ We lived in the best of times and watching my rock and musical heros die just hits almost harder than my own family, even tho they're gone now too...just sorta feels like my youth is dying too...then I look in the mirror, but I sure as hell don't feel this old. I can't remember lots of things today, but I remember my youth in vivid details. Peace, God bless America, and rock on brother ❤
Lynyrd Skynyrd was popular while I was a teen in junior and high school, which is the ultimate Skynyrd experience. You're not just hearing it; you're living it while it happens.
Making me cry, so sad about them both, Kathy's Dr. should have advised her to go to the ER then go home and go to bed. Her Dr. Was Negligent I Love You Both! 🌹🌹🌹🌹May they Forever RIP
Why is there so little footage of Allen Collins? Just him. I saw Skynyrd in the 70s live, and Allen was always my favorite. I wish someone had gotten him to quit drinking is my only regret for him. Today there are so many resources to turn to for artists with alcohol problems. God bless him.
Wow you look at all the other original members and they have these big memorials and tombstones and Allen's over there all by himself with that little bitty plot what's going on man you should have a big
Actually went there recently and left one of my picks there, fly high free bird 🕊️
So sad to see them gone ...
Thanks for sharing Fly High Freebird 🕊️
The greatest rock n roll guitarist to ever play and live

Thank you for this beautiful moment of respect.
Thanks for the video. My wife and I were able to locate Allen’s grave after watching this video.

He is right down the road from me. I’m in Hooterville. Old Middleburg turns into Memorial Park.

I feel the same
Once Kathy died, he had no interest in getting sober. He was a tortured soul without her. RIP Allen, you deserve it.
Time sure flys by……

They actually sold Alan's house about 3 months ago Gene should have showed you a Derek Trucks house on you about three houses down from there
