Picked up the three new "App required" amp pedals. Great on a guitar, but even better on synths and Daw stuff. I had no idea how much these amp modelers could add to my workflow.
My intro to the digital amp world was the Dream 65. I completely agree with you guys in the aspect that it feels close to an amp. After that i tried the Ruby, and then switched to the Tonex One. After using the Tonex i have discovered how much i love the Tweed Deluxe sound and now i want to try the Woodrow, but the Tonex works well for me and buying anything else would be nothing more than giving into GAS. The only thing i really miss about using the UA amp pedals is the simplicity. The Tonex is nice having all the amp tones i could ever desire, but being locked into one type of amp allows me to focus more on playing, less time trying to find my preferred amp tone for each guitar and having to dial in the rest of my pedals accordingly. I know a lot of people complain about UA making each amp model its own product, but i personally prefer it that way. It adds more realism to emulating an actual amp experience. I am really curious about the Enigmatic too. It sounds incredible
I love my Ruby, but I really dig the Enigmatic! Tonex is great too though, can’t go wrong with that (Ruben uses the big Tonex). Thanks for watching!🤘🤘🤘
If you are looking for a pedal platform as your top priority even tho these 2 would be fine you should try the UA Deluxe 65. I don’t want to overstep my bounds, it’s just my opinion. Thanks for your communication.
Thanks for watching! I have heard a lot of great feedback on the Ruby/Dream combo, and I would be very interested to experiment with the Ruby + Enigmatic, in theory that would be awesome. May need to do a show on that one…
As someone who owned a Dumble for 30 years, I can't help but tell you guys that this particular test with OD pedals is totally missing the point. These 2 Modelers have enormous Overdrive and the Dumble mainly reached all it's glory because of the SMOOTHEST overdrive in the world. By putting Drive pedals in front you are diminishing the "Special" tones of the Dumble OD and I feel the same way about the Ruby. Don't dilute what these things do best by placing OD pedals in front of them. There are very few amps I would say that about, possibly just these 2, but FOR SURE the Dumble. Good Luck with your other comparisons I know they will be of value.
Thanks for watching, really cool that you had the opportunity to own an actual Dumble! The drive on the Enigmatic is killer for sure, Really dig the cleans on each of these pedals too though. I do have some dirty settings saved in my favorites on the UAFX app that I really like, but unfortunately there isnt an easy way to quickly switch between settings 😅. For my primary application I need something that works as a versatile pedal platform and both of these boxes do that extremely well! 🤘

Great demo! Thoughts on a stereo Ruby/Enigmatic vs Ruby/Dream? Or even Dream/Enigmatic.
