Hell yeah, finally! Wonder-based game! I was recently checking through leaders and found that there are no Philosophical+Industrious leader. Probably would be too gamebreaking, but still.
that would be much more busted than finanical. especially because philosophical makes it easier to bulb techs, so you can always be able to start building wonders, and then industrious means you likely get them, or you get A LOT of fail gold to power your economy and expansion. thats completely better than financial which just gives you money. thats great, but this gives you money, and tech, and representation caste system pacifism and golden ages would be truly busted.
of course, looking forward to it! I joined the channel when you did your de gaulle isolation game with angry isabella and monster hannibal, a game where you played France and used wonders to actually get economy, and then in this game you're france and actually build all the wonders. love it
The best part of you playing Louis (for us viewers) is that we won't have to see his ugly face after the start of the game. Of course, I might just be jealous that he has more hair than me. :)
We love these - another fun challenge is to rack up as many wonders as you can using france on earth 18 civs on like monarch lol. it is possible to spam every wonder other than like statue of zeus
I'm convinced that there is some sort of barbarian combat bug. The odds and results do not appear to match. It is very rare to even fight a barb with losing odds. To do that, you have to make a reckless move and this occurs very rarely. Maybe you should do a world builder simulation and see what happens when there are 300 battles where the barbs have a 10% chance of victory and see what happens.
when saladin settled his fourth city right in your face i started cackling with glee. bro, you do not want to settle directly on wonderwhore louis' border. it won't end up great for you, sally.
at the point you got code of laws and had confucianism right in his grill, i was starting to think hey, gift him some crap crap crap desert cities to your east, to make sure he never declares war and his economy is permanently shit while you push your culture on those same gifted cities. eventually they'll make commerce just for being on the coast, not great cities but it wont be your problem to deal with. you will get them when theyre any good.
44:30 you are playing the game so far as peacemonger wonderwhore louis. the game somehow knows this, so all your armies have been permanently debuffed. this is why i great wall if i can, but i can also see how you would have missed out on great great cities doing that. you needed to settle those two cities early. i love the great wall because i can spam settlers directly into the barbarians' faces and push them out of the way with my invincible culture shield. who needs military units. also, who needs the game giving 99 percent odds to a barb that should lose 99 percent of the time, but it never happens. i feel your frustration. barb warriors youve taken the time to spam chariots to defeat still not dying is some serious bullshit.
Can you help me understand why its better to settle Rheims where you did vs. 2 tiles north just left of the horses? Less maintenance, can share cottage tiles w capital. and would let you settle another city on the river (1 north of the silk) with a chance of stealing the pigs from Brennus. Thanks!

There used to be so many threads on CIV Fanatics Forums when this game first released debating that trait combination.
@@askthepizzaguyfinancial gives you commerce which is converted to science, gold, culture or espionage based on your slider settings.

I won a 75% today! Amazing!
And then lost 98.8%
pretty good leader!
Culture battle as Louis while he's building wonder spam. Heh heh heh heh, I WONDER who will win...
As soon as you mentioned building sistine to flip his cities my heart skipped a beat. You're playing like me this game, except obviously better.

Blocking off land pretty much, soon as the borders pop it secures the entire southern area.
I also like to settle the river for 2 health if possible
Henrik at start, what the hell is this. Land- 10-20 turns in Henrik: im interested now, 25-30: need them settles
Quick question, why don't you play with warlords and BTS expansion?
This is BTS expansion
@@henrik9658 sorry the civ 4 screen looks like from the main game. My BTS has a different starting screen
Yea I changed mine back to baba yetu :p
why do you deselect the tech your researching every turn in the beginning?
stores the research for first 5 turns incase you want to change your mind
@@henrik9658 neat, thanks for the quick reply.
My requests: Europe 1000AD scenario, playing as India.
Also Justinian, I think he's the easiest player/Civ on that scenario.
Justinian is fun, so many options
