  • Welcome to the first 2023 week of! We're in the plant room the entire (almost) 2 hours, as the focus of this week is pest prevention and getting plants in my plant room situated before I start on a bigger project in the living room-- which I obviously will take you along for. But it really does feel SUPER good to finally be on the offence with these g-damn pests since basically the beginning of 2022. I'm not going to let history repeat itself, and I just wanted to set a good tone for the rest of the year in terms of keeping pests at a minimum. Anyhoo, in this week of I do a fair amount of repotting, tend to my propagations, demonstrate hydrophobic soil, and also do my first new project of the year! I also use Fluval stratum, which has been pretty regularly requested of me, and I talk a bit about why it's not my substrate of choice, but why it was necessary for this particular project.

    I have the best way to clean roots in dirty pon. Here it is ' leave the pon dry out completely and use an old fork to go through the pon and the fork will collect all the dry roots. I love this trick . Another trick is I use a little mesh laundry bag like for bras anyways I put dirty pon in the bag to clean.

    A little late in responding but these are my fav vids. Thanks so much! I watch many times as you know. Sorry to hear about your panic attack. I’ve had a few. Doc prescribed me a fast dissolving pill for under the tongue. It’s scary when you are in the middle of one.
    Trying to comment during the vid but you are hilarious. “What would Jesus do?” Can’t wait for the next one !

    • @louisetteleblanc586

      I am using fluval for a few cuttings, but my problem is how and when to water. Do I cover the fluval with water?

    • @zandrawostel3765
      @zandrawostel3765 Рік тому +2

      @@louisetteleblanc586 I usually add water to the Fluval to where it is wet but not above the Fluval. When I see that it is getting dry, then I water again. Once I see the roots are well developed and can sustain the cutting, then I dump it out and plant the cutting. Fluval looses it's nutrients after a while so it isn't a good medium to keep plants in for a long time.

    I took a risk (for me) and planted 2 of my begonias into pon.. I hope they love it 😉 I "changed their pants" 😂😂 I am also with you with getting bored with same arrangements. One time (many many years ago) my husband worked afternoons and Iam notorious for rearranging furniture.. So I moved the bedroom furniture around and when he came home from work and went to sit on the bed.... It wasn't in the samw spot.. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I nearly peed my pants I lmao! He was not as happy about it.. Can I ask if your philo micans is in pon? I finally got one and its in soil.. and as for phone calls. Don't ge tme started on effen duct cleaning telemarketers... 😈

    I am so happy about the part of this video where you are taking care of your PPP. I was contemplating what to do with mine today, I want to separate baby plants and I was not sure how to do it. Now I know :) I want to chop top of my plant (3-4) leaves because she is tall and low variegated but I am not sure how it will look like when new grow point(s) activate. I am scared it will not grow straight up but it will be crooked.

    I have a question, since you don’t like to deal with pick ups if someone wanted to buy the plants that you are getting rid of would you sell them to someone in the states (Las Vegas) I love your collection and being a new plant mommy I would love to see grow from baby plants to mommy plants like😢😢 I cried so bad when you got rid of the pink Princess because I can’t find it in Vegas I would have definitely bought that from you and paid for shipping 😊

      I think anyone would feel beaten down after a year long spider mite, thrips and mealybug outbreak 😂 to be honest, there are many moments where I want to just get rid of most of my plants, but the love for them outweigh the stress it comes with! Also, I have a lot of personal things happening in my life right now, and I’ve just been mentally unwell for a few months, so I’m not surprised that comes across in my videos. But I try and just be as honest and real on this channel as possible.
      Thank you for watching!

      I usually don't even respond to comments like these but I couldn't help myself this time. I know you aren't trying to be mean but this isn't constructive criticism IMO. She's just being real. If you are a regular viewer than you should know that she's been extremely honest about her mental health. She even took a minute at the beginning of this video to explain why she was so tired. If she was jumping for joy and super animated in every video, it would come across as dishonest and acting for the camera. I appreciate that she's authentic in her videos and doesn't pretend when she's not having a "full energy" day. She has plenty of content that shows her happy and laughing and having fun. As someone who also struggles to get stuff done some days, I find her to be very relatable and appreciate her low energy videos just as much if not more than the ones where she's super happy.
