@TboltHurricane He has single phase blowers for both of his 1003s. Jeb won't sell either of his right now, because they're going to be used with two matching heads to be installed in a nearby town sometime in the near future.
@TboltHurricane Noo haha I mean Rick has blowers for both of his 1003s. Jeb also has two blowers but they're from old A2 series 1000ATs, and both have heads that will be reinstalled again soon.
Modulator runs the hi/lo flasher module or "eddy wheel" as some people call it. The tone 1 switch activates one solenoid, and tone 2 activates the other. Those switches are all there for testing/maintenance purposes. They are all normally set to automatic so it's ready to go when the fire button is pushed on the AF timer. What is nice though, is when the siren is blaring away, I can flip both the tone 1 and tone 2 switches to "test" to completely mute the siren.
@promod400exridr - Are you gonna install it outside your house? Once You Get a Blower (Ask Jeb he's got a couple) and try and get a SiraTrol and see If the town can give you the frequency for it to be activated with the rest of the system.
@promod400exridr :D Isn't there two or three panels for the 1003 model. I know for the 1000 and 1000T, there's the timer and the motor starters. But isn't there one more panel for the 1003? I'll try and find something.
@cheetawolf As far as I know, all Thunderbolts have belt driven rotators...In the 2001 they upgraded to direct drive. My 1003s are both B's for sure though...it says so on the tags and every motor is single phase.
Alright dude, stay tuned! The Thunderbolt is all wired up in my theater room now, so I can go throw the switch and push the button whenever I feel the need to generate massive amounts of noise. I'll make an alert vid soon enough.
Thanks. I don't really like the alert call so I didn't do one. AR/AF timers pop up every once in a while on eBay. Just keep your eyes peeled. I don't know where there any for sale at the moment...
hey dude nice vid but why didn't you do the alert call? oh I am building a homemade AR timer so far I have only got the test button wired up to my air raid siren but I need a timer for my alert and attack so could you help me find a timer
@AKSoapy29 You have to do some research, little man! The RCM3 panel controls the flashing of the solenoids. The solenoids are mounted inside the "bowtie" that goes between the horn and stator housing. My AF timer, when you push the "fire" button, triggers the RCM3 panel to flash the solenoids back and forth to produce the hi/lo signal. The different tones are because of a 5/6 port chopper, and the solenoids alternately cover up one set of ports in a hi/lo wail.
@soccerdude7330 This one is actually the '78. That's interesting though! Maybe it's a problem with Thunderbolts '78 and on...lol. I should run my '87 up on L5 some time and see what it sounds like.
There's an an additional cam wheel in the AF timer that is responsible for that. After this video, I removed the cam wheel, so now it produces a steady hi/lo signal. The wheel can be put back in very easily though, so I did not ruin anything by doing that.
You could barely hear this outside my house. It helped being in the basement. The only time I set one off outside (within city limits) was totally accidental...the gas powered 3T22 that I rigged up, well, I was testing a couple of functions when the governor decided to pull itself wide open and stay there. Had to pull the spark plug wire to get it to shut down. Fricken A. I pushed it all in the garage and closed up quicker than ever! Cops never showed though thank goodness.
+Kleneu66 this particular one came from eBay. Government auctions, Craigslist, and "the siren board" (online forum) are all good places to look also. I've also bought sirens from companies that remove old sirens and install new ones.
Scott Gibson (A) because I didn't wanna drag an almost 600 pound blower down the stairs in my house. (B) because I did not need it THAT loud. I do have the original single phase blower though.
cool sorry for being such an ass... steady tone is just kind of a childhood thing u know? and havn't found a video up of someone running a personal thunderbolt inside for an alert... (i guess alert must only be an outside thing for some...)
attack???? and no steady at all???? fuck... i grew up on that... really wish you would have done steady. attack mode... you hear everyday from a siren... police fire ambulance give it a break... if the rig is still set up or if u have one already lets hear some alert!!!!! tired of the attack tone...
That's a little bit more like it a lot better than words on my gasoline and New Years I like this a lot burnout but the motor looking for the whole lot better o that I do what you what you have that motor its good but you can't go but faster mmm motor another one up right that's on a little bit better electric motor do that but that the that gasoline engine bed does the skip the whole skip the whole stuff in there stick with electric motor nerve racking up to her son work a lot better stick with
So your just chillin in your living room as all your neighbors are freaking the frick out about a tornado.
Nice. I like that.
this will sure enough let them know their music is to loud!!
One hell of an alarm clock.
just imagine it with the amplifier on
(the big square trumpit looking thing on the thunderbolts)
A.W.S. SQUEEGY That will make a difference but not as much of a difference as the roots blower would make lol
A.W.S. SQUEEGY It's called a blower
Mr.Someone \Tom/ roots blower
@@AWSSQUEEGY You mean the horn?
@TboltHurricane He has single phase blowers for both of his 1003s. Jeb won't sell either of his right now, because they're going to be used with two matching heads to be installed in a nearby town sometime in the near future.
*Zaxby's Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings is the covid food bank*

@TboltHurricane Noo haha I mean Rick has blowers for both of his 1003s. Jeb also has two blowers but they're from old A2 series 1000ATs, and both have heads that will be reinstalled again soon.
The attack timing is perfect, and I love the fire signal
Nice work on the resto so far Rick~!
The Hi-Lo is my favourite :)
the attack sounds like a Carter air raid siren
My like hi lo
ME LIKE HI LO TOO
Thats not even hi lo thats hi lo wail
This would be priceless to set up in a college dorm
Love the fire call!

@rhett443 You do if you plan to use the AR/AF timer.
@TboltHurricane Thanks! I appreciate it!
i hope your cats weren't in the room with the tbolt lol nice video
The one guy who voted against this was probably your neighbor!
Awesome sound, you are a great American.
I guess too.... Since there is still only one dislike
@dpcomm1 Thank you!
@promod400exridr - Are you gonna install it outside your house? Once You Get a Blower (Ask Jeb he's got a couple) and try and get a SiraTrol and see If the town can give you the frequency for it to be activated with the rest of the system.
Awesome. I wish i could do this with my Thunderbolt, but i don't have the working motor starters.
Thats real cool.
where did you get the AR timer
@murrfarms - I thought he said he aint got no blowers when they come down. Or do you mean Jeb has 1003s?
@promod400exridr :D Isn't there two or three panels for the 1003 model. I know for the 1000 and 1000T, there's the timer and the motor starters. But isn't there one more panel for the 1003? I'll try and find something.
@EF8SQUAD Thank you!!! It is going pretty well so far! :)
Hi lo is my favorite tone!
Nice work
@cheetawolf As far as I know, all Thunderbolts have belt driven rotators...In the 2001 they upgraded to direct drive. My 1003s are both B's for sure though...it says so on the tags and every motor is single phase.
@promod400exridr Thats what i thought. I know you need the motor starters to run these of off AR timers.
Alright dude, stay tuned! The Thunderbolt is all wired up in my theater room now, so I can go throw the switch and push the button whenever I feel the need to generate massive amounts of noise. I'll make an alert vid soon enough.

COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
No pulse from the AF timer per se. That can be achieved by wiring the two solenoids together and then pushing the fire button.
How do you know how this works
Can you send me a link to how it works
My cat got scared, it must be good.
@promod400exridr ok well thats good to know haha
@TboltHurricane I have the two single phase blowers that are original to my two Thunderbolts.
how much ill take em
hey dude nice vid but why didn't you do the alert call? oh I am building a homemade AR timer so far I have only got the test button wired up to my air raid siren but I need a timer for my alert and attack so could you help me find a timer
Wait, so how does the system do the solenoids?
How to do a alternate wail?
cool man
whats the fire call for
@Tboltmaniac LOL they were locked in the bedroom in the back of the house, so it wasn't bad for them at all. Haha!
For some stange reason, I like the sound of his voice. :3
What does the B mean at the end of 1004
@rhett443 Someone told me i needed a motor starter to run something over 5 Amps off of the AR Timer.
How did you get the af timer to work?
Is there any way to wire the fire call to be an alert Hi-Lo?
If I had a Thunderbolt 1003 with a tornado detector, I would be the first one to survive
@promod400exridr might be, my 78 is sluggish as well.
For calling volunteer fire fighters to the station usually.
It means it is single phase. An "A" at the end would mean it's a three phase unit.
Ur neighbors must've love u
Can you do pulse if it works
Messing up 1003

Para que serve está sirene
where did u get these from?
Alternate wail hooked up i see good
How did you get that behemouth in your basement?
other collectors, an fd thats selling their old siren
Nice air raid siren you got there
I can never understand why the fire call just cant be continues hilo, it always opens the dampers on the wind down.
It’s wired that way.
@soccerdude7330 This one is actually the '78. That's interesting though! Maybe it's a problem with Thunderbolts '78 and on...lol. I should run my '87 up on L5 some time and see what it sounds like.
lol where do you buy a siren?
siren graveyards, auctions, or paying alot to have citys take down inactive sirens
Sounds like a British Carter Siren
Nah, they don't care at all! They love me.
There's an an additional cam wheel in the AF timer that is responsible for that. After this video, I removed the cam wheel, so now it produces a steady hi/lo signal. The wheel can be put back in very easily though, so I did not ruin anything by doing that.
How did you get this stuff?
***** Lots and lots of patience, searching, money, and driving. Gotta keep your eyes on eBay and government auctions.
How did you do that nice work Adam posted
Sounds like an air raid siren. This is the 100th comment
It's kinda sounds like a 3T22
sounds like a Carter air raid siren to me
I meant 1004
How do you use these without the police freaking out? Do you tell them before you activate the siren?
You could barely hear this outside my house. It helped being in the basement. Rick K. Ah. Where do you buy these things? I'm not going to buy one, just curious, lol.
+Kleneu66 this particular one came from eBay. Government auctions, Craigslist, and "the siren board" (online forum) are all good places to look also. I've also bought sirens from companies that remove old sirens and install new ones.
Rick K. Ah. I figured they would be found in a online shops, auctioned by the Government, and replaced sirens. Thank you for confirming my hypothesis.
I'm quite sure I've asked this question before, and I'm sorry if I have, but how did you manage to get a hold of all these?
Super Signal Craigslist, eBay, the siren board.
Rick K. Thanks, again!
Best thing you could do is put them on eBay. You'll get the most money that way. Be sure to put detailed pics up if you list them.
ohhhhhh
👍👍👍👍👍🏾
Well it 3AM and I couldn’t sleep so let’s play with the thunderbolt.
I'll buy it!!! How much do you wanna have?
its not for sale, cmon dude
It's a joke
@@LoganT547 seems more like an entitled bitch than a joke
That's the coolest video I've ever seen how much was all that?
Sorry, I don't get on here much anymore. I probably had around $500 into the setup.
Really?
why where you a leaf blower instead of the real blower
Scott Gibson (A) because I didn't wanna drag an almost 600 pound blower down the stairs in my house. (B) because I did not need it THAT loud. I do have the original single phase blower though.
Do 2T23
cool sorry for being such an ass... steady tone is just kind of a childhood thing u know? and havn't found a video up of someone running a personal thunderbolt inside for an alert... (i guess alert must only be an outside thing for some...)
You should have done pulse/fallout warning
He'd have to re-wire the solenoids then
attack???? and no steady at all???? fuck... i grew up on that... really wish you would have done steady. attack mode... you hear everyday from a siren... police fire ambulance give it a break... if the rig is still set up or if u have one already lets hear some alert!!!!! tired of the attack tone...
Its not a air raid dirrn its a thunderbolt
Uhhhh...ok...yeah...no.
