Of course she did.her life fell apart that horrible day that trauma was always with her
Not only did she see Jack, her husband, the father of her children viciously MURDERED right in front of her and could've easily been killed herself .... And probably having the fear that the murderers would face justice .
But she hurt for John and Caroline having their daddy ripped from them at 6 and 3 years old. I'm sure she worried how she would raise them she had Bobby but he also had 10 children of his own to take care of .......
Then losing Bobby .and the scandals throughout the years within the family.gave her great pain.
I think she did find happiness in the 80s /90s with Maurice .... John and Caroline were grown and successful and she was a grandmother ....she worked for double day which also gave her a great sense of joy as she loved books so much
She could me er be expected to ever be complete after losing Jack.. but I think I'm the end she has as much peace as she possibly could.
She had good times . We need to take comfort in that .
It's heartbreaking to see her here.because it was only 8 weeks after.shw really had no time to really grieve for Jack. Remember the day of the funeral was Johns bday ... That same day she gave him a birthday party then she had to move out of the Whitehouse ,..she has so much to do . I don't think she gave herself time . Maybe that's how she handled it all. By keeping busy but she has dark monents. She went through a period of time where all she did was cry
She developed a drinking problem to cope.....
But I'm the end I believe she was happy

Our former First Lady looks so vulnerable! Mrs. Kennedy handled her address to the Nation with such strength, class and dignity. As I look back, I am so glad in knowing that Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy was by her side to give his help, support and council!
It just sickens me that anyone would dare attack our Beloved President John F. Kennedy in such a cowardly and dastardly way in the company of his wife.
It is a testament to this wonderful and strong woman that she persevered and raised her wonderful two children.

You are correct that she came within inches of death herself. Twice actually in 5 seconds. She could have been killed either by Oswald’s bullet which missed her own head by mere inches, or if Bill Greer had accelerated the car 1 second sooner as she was on the trunk. Yes, she cheated death twice in 5 seconds. She showed unbelievable courage in the face of such a horrible event. May she Rest In Peace for all eternity.

It's worth noting in the course of their marriage, JFK came close to death a couple of times before because of his back condition and Addison's Disease. I have read that he once thought of himself as doomed, but then considered himself lucky to have the time he did - it made him take reckless chances in his personal life. As shocking as his death came, I think Jackie Kennedy was prepared on some level to face it. The greatest grief she felt was for her children, who would never really know him.

    • @Gigi1111Layna
      @Gigi1111Layna Рік тому

The medication Jack took made him unable to control those urges. I don't see what reckless chances he took on his life...though Bobby did blame himself, thinking it was the mafia who did the murder of JFK. Bobby actually believed he would be targeted first but also did not trust those that protected Jack. He was right in that LBJ, Hoover and DULLES orchestrated this. 280 ppl involved and a Frenchman sharpshooter, completed the job. The Mafia did the cleanup of the witnesses and the participants who had to be silenced forever. LHO was the patsy but also involved at some point. But most definitely didn't shoot JFK.

Guys I wanted to let you guys know that it is the last days. 2 Timothy 4:1-5 states "You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. People will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!" If you're not in the word, you need to get into it. If you are, read more. The enemy is getting trickier and we need to strengthen our armor. God bless you all.

    Thank you. Wonderful find.
It's odd to see JBK smiling, and then seconds later on camera in that serious, fighting emotion voice. Especially considering the topic and that its only about seven weeks after JFK's murder. I expected them to be serious - and for this obligation to be painful. I heard RFK was barely able to function - but both he and JBK seem to be functioning rather well on this outtake. I don't mean to criticize - I'm just surprised.

monica The camera can be an all-seeing critical, unforgiving and judgemental eye. Diana (and others mercilessly pursued by its unrelenting lens) protected herself by portraying an image that suited her, in order to preserve the private side of her. It may appear to some an “act” that we are witnessing but it is merely a facet of the complex multidimensional shape of another person. How can we completely know another human being when it is often so difficult to fully understand ourselves? So what if we as a consequence only see a side of a person - don’t we all, when having our photograph (or when filmed) taken, assume an image that suits the occasion and how we wish others to see us, often in the best light?

@@elspethcoogan1499 you are quite right and have given me another way of looking at it. I know I wouldn't enjoy being on display like that and she does seem genuine in this video.

I doubt it. tv was different then. it wasn't widely seen. maybe 30% of the country had it. she was incredibly broken in spirit and heart for years and in a way you could not hide. Just look at the eyes. She never smiled the same way after. They used to say people will never laugh again after such tragedy. Thats not accurate. You will laugh again. You just won't be young again. That was lost for good.

And just think...at the same time that' she was girl-whispering these sentiments in her affected childish voice, she and Robert were carrying on an affair right under Ethel's nose. Few people actually read the biographies (especially the one on RFK) which detail that Bobby was considering divorcing the always-pregnant Ethel, not nearly as telegenic as Jackie, in order to marry Jackie in the hopes that would increase his chances of becoming POTUS. Until, of course, he realized that, as the well-advertised super-Catholics that the Kennedys portrayed themselves to be, a divorce and remarriage to Jackie would COST him Diocesan support across the nation and those lovely Catholic votes. Those who AREN'T Catholic don't really know how influential parish priests are when their homilies include political endorsements of various candidates.

@@tonyphilpott9500"We're" isn't the correct word. Obviously you are far too illiterate to read biographies, so your snark is risible. Take a few classes in English grammar, spelling, comprehension, and composition, then read the well-researched and heavily cited biography entitled, RFK.

Auto correct. Were you under the bed. I suppose you are talking about David Heymann and Darwin Porter typebooks. This is all just supposition and trash reporting.
