I love that he’s trying to bring together believers and not rip each other apart. That’s such a big deal.
The concern is that he's too willing to adapt the Bible to modern cultural and scientific positions in order to do so.
@@christophertaylor9100it’s not a problem if it doesn’t contradict. Which it doesn’t. Look into his positions.
@@nuanceatnoon It is a problem if he wants to change the Bible and interpret it simply to fit modern ideas.
@christophertaylor9100 But IP isn't changing the Bible or interpreting it to fit modern ideas. Most of IP's views come from studying the scripture, studying the original language, studying the culture, and coming to the conclusion of how that culture during that time would have interpreted the text and its meaning. He actually performs excellent exegesis and hermeneutics, which is how we should be viewing our scriptures.
@@KOAHUNT3R Yeah he is, when it comes to areas that modern people are unhappy with like the ages of ancient figures, or the numbers of Israelites listed in the Bible. He allegorizes them and claims they are symbolic in order to fit better with modern cultural ideas instead of you know, taking what the Bible says as its said.
12:28: “I’m not doubting scripture, I’m doubting your interpretation of scripture. You’re not a prophet.” BROTHER SAY THAT!!!! Too many new believers wanna share their “revelations” they’ve “received from the Lord” but don’t support it with scripture nor are they being discipled. Too many new believers idolize the spiritual gifts but know nothing about them because these modern churches have abandoned Jesus and have become motivational and charismatic clubs, not houses of prayer. To be fair to Mike Winger, he’s been very open for years that the apocalyptic views (pre/post Millennialism, etc.) is not his focus, nor has he delved super deep into it and is open to being convinced of other views here.
plus he said he will do a deep dive in the next 2 years i think
His video that surveyed 5 different end time views was very well laid out and easy to understand though. Based on that video, I can't wait until he does spent more of a focus on end times.
Winger saying it's not his focus is another way of saying he is clueless about the biblical position. Ppl who don't understand what the Bible teaches always of have some pseudo-Christian way of avoiding to admit that they are simply clueless. How can he call himself a pastor and not already know what God's position is? He's supposed to know these things!
@@theeternalsbeliever1779is this based on scripture or are you speaking from your own mind?
We should all have this stance with more interpretations of the Bible. Approach with humility that we are from a vastly different time and culture than when the Bible was written. We should allow more grace to others with different views that don’t matter. Views on age of the earth, when the exodus happened, how we baptize and views on end times. None of those things are part of the gospel.
By the way, you can be an Old Earth Creationist and not believe in BIG E evolution (i.e. molecules to man, slime to mammals, etc. but still believe in small e evolution i.e. adaptation and diversification within kinds), and also believe in a literally true Bible. I tend to most closely align with the Reasons to Believe creation model.
Sad. Adaptation is evolution.
@@nadaproblem3023 I'm not sure what is sad exactly. Yes, adaptation is one component of biological evolution. Evolution means change over time, by the way, everything changes over time, aka everything evolves. Adaptation can be observed in real time, in the past via the fossil record. However, the fossil record is woefully inadequate to explain things like the Cambrian (and other) explosion where dozens of new phyla appear in an geological instant. And the origin of life - aka abiogenesis has never been documented and there isn't even a plausible theory of how it happened. Origin of life researchers are completely stumped. So, yes, God created life with the ability to adapt to it's environment and he created species in kinds, just like the Bible says, this matches what we observe. It actually makes me happy, but if you want to be sad, more power to you!
@@nadaproblem3023 It’s sad that the word evolution has to be defined every single time it’s used. Adaptation does Not prove that every living thing is the product of mutations from a single cell organism.
And yet there is a progression in the fossil record...

It’s goofy that modern evangelicalism associates calling the Blessed Mother “the Mother of God” to be distinctly Roman Catholic. Historically this was understood to be basic to orthodox Christology because it’s a statement about Jesus as well-even by classical Protestants.
Maybe Catholics take it too far, maybe Protestants don’t take it far enough. The Theotokos is the closest to God that any man is 👍🏻

I’d like to hear IP have a conversation with Timothy Alberino about the younger dryas period. That would be a great conversation for a podcast episode
Sincere question.... if prophecy is conditional, then what do we do with Deuteronomy 18:22
[22] When a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
@BigDan21. how does that disprove his point? For that to be true, the conditions would have to be met, and then it would not happen, so you still have to meet the conditions.
@ozzysherrod2604 No where did i say it disproves anything. As I stated, it was a sincere question, I was looking for someone of knowledge to help explain this to me.
@BigDan21. well, if the passage is irrelevant to the statement, meaning that is doesn't provide support or dissent. Then, the argument is unchallenged. If you want a break down of this claim I could say that you would judge by the unconditional prophecy in the case of unmet conditions and the condition prophecy after the conditions have been met and then you can determine the value of a prophet.
I haven't even watched it yet but this is what we love to see!!!! Hopefully Billy reaches out and you can debate him In person
Even if he did they wouldn't because they aren't very smart 👆
As a non-charismatic, I do believe that people can get "words of knowledge" from God that would give specific insight and guidance into someone's situation or lay something on your heart for a specific person. I/my church just doesn't consider this prophecy.
I am more with IP, I am just highly skeptical, especial of someone that would constantly get prophecy wrong (I don't see how someone constantly getting prophecy wrong brings glory to God)
Exactly. Perfectly-stated, 100%.

The one thing that I can not make sense of when I.P. speaks of conditonal prophecies is... since one of Jesus' conditions is for the whole world, to hear the gospel. How was it EVER going to be even remotely possible for the whole world to have heard the Gosple by the 1st or even 2nd century? I mean, Europeans didn't come to North America until 1492. Remember. Michael’s views are based on HIS interpretation of the Bible and what it says. Which isn’t unanimously agreed upon world wide.

@@freedomclub2285 I can agree that some scholars are more credible but only to a certain degree. Along with the arbitrary dating of some ancient texts that argue against the Bible
the main issue is how you can have death before the fall while holding to a old earth
Old earth creationists believe that there was death before the fall. Think about it this way: What is the purpose of a tree of life if there was no death, and God guarded it after the fall so Adam could not eat from it? Would He make something so useless? Answer is probably not.. I think Inspiring Philosophy covers it in his Genesis 1-11 series but im not sure. God bless
What a bunch of nonsense and wasted time you spend obsessing over misinterpreted, hand-me-down fairy tales.
Death was introduced in the fall. Hence God's salvation plan. It was a test and we failed. It's plain in text. And we see tests all throughout the bible from who God appoints to lead His people until we get to Jesus where he does not fail.
I had a guy give me a word of knowledge that was word for word. Sentences that were playing in my mind for over a week but I had not told anyone this kind of thing is real
God made Adam and Eve fully grown adults. So say the first 30 mins they were on earth they appeared to be old when in reality they were only 30 mins old. So could God make the earth “appear” to look old when it’s not? Yeah
Petrified trees also ties into YEC. Along with the question for OEC: Was there death before the fall?
Right. There is just not enough data that can't be explained by YEC and not enough data that disputes the Bible. I wasnt raised Christian. I believed this when HS showed me God was real but I hadn't received the HS. I was trying to fit the Bible into my pagan views. When I was born again, there was a point God revealed this to me. And honestly, with all the other things He had worked in me, this was the easiest thing for me to receive because I knew His power and i had confidence in Him as the sustainer
There was death, that’s why there was the tree of life 👍🏻 I’m still a YEC though😂
EXACTLY!! I was JUST teaching some other brothers this same exact concept yesterday! Those who support the theory of evolution…if God brought into existence a man already aged, then why wouldn’t he be able to do that to the world when he created it? Pretty sure the four rivers flowing from Eden would NOT exist.
I bet we find out one way or another that those rivers did rap around the entire earth, maybe underground for a large part of it.
I don't think so, plate tectonics would destroy that almost immediately (say, a millenium, give or take).
Such an interesting view on prophecy. I can honestly say I have always seen prophesy as fatalistic, if it’s prophecy then God will do it. The conditional variable is serious and now I have something else to track as I read the word. 😅
Many have prophesied over me. I look in the mirror and think maybe this isn’t going to happen but it’s not because of the Lord. Much of what was said over Ruslan I can relate. He is still at work in me though so it’s all in his time as well.
If it's conditional it should be said. In Bible where it's conditional they say," if you then..."
I humbly disagree with the guests view on prophesy. Nineveh, the wicked city, was destroyed by their repentance. They were reborn as Nineveh the Repented. When I became a Christian the old me died. The old me was destroyed. It is fair to infer that the conditionality of the Jonah prophesy was "You destroy the wickedness or I will."
The prophesy was fulfilled.

The idea that they have to be converted now just shows that ppl don't study their bibles like they should. The Prophets show God saying that will be done during the Millennium. There also nothing unbiblical about a young earth. Its actually highly supported in the bible when dive into the layers of certain books and chapters. God does not make mistakes, this isn't a conspiracy its simply a biblical truth.
This needs time stamps
I am at the 36 minute mark so you guys may cover this verse when discussing prophecy, but I wanted to put it here just in case I forget to ask.
How do you reconcile Deut. 18:22? To me it seems like the test to see if a prophet is false or not is if they say something and it does not come true then it did not come from God. This verse doesn't seem to give room for the idea that their culture understood that all prophecies were conditional. If that were the case, then if it did not come true, wouldn't they just know that God retracted? Instead Moses tells them that it did not come from God.
Happy to see IP on this channel again!!!
For old earth to work, death would have had to come before sin correct? However we are told sin and death entered the world thru Adam's sin. So what is your explanation for how to reconcile this?

Why not require a conditional prophet to specify what the condition is. Then at least we can make a proper judgement of it. Also, am I wrongly remembering how serious false prophecies were in the OT? Wasn't prophetic failure justification for rejecting an alleged 'Word of the Lord' from said prophet?
You’re forgetting the fact that these holidays are not glorifying God
Jesus told Caiphas that he would not see him until he said blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. He said it to confirm that every tongue confess and every knee shall bow, not that Jewish people have to acknowledge Jesus before the Parousia, that's just misunderstanding how Jesus was doing what he did during his ordeal, speaking the truth and confirming who he is.
With pangea there may have been rivers across whole super continent.
Yea but Pangea would have been before smt hominid species were on earth. The “entire earth” is definitely metaphorical in genesis
Biblical Prophecy may be a reoccurring psychological process and just deviates based on cultural / environmental and other variables but holds the same fundamental archetype undertones individually nd collectively. This is how jesus recognized his situation on past literature with past and current prophetic text. This is also why there seems to be OT and NT prophecy is unfolding currently.
Regardless of past history and the intitial intent on the scriptures its possible the writers unconsciously wrote to be valid over millennia while recording past consciously at the time.
Around the 40th minute mark IP goes on about children rebelling because other kids celebrate these non-biblical holidays and so “God is against fun”. Good thing Jesus came to bring truth not fun, and He said the way is narrow for a reason. We should not go with the world if it means going against God. If a Christian family in the pagan Roman Empire saw all the others having “fun” should they be compelled to join in? +God outlined festivals which he cherishes in the Bible itself so he’s wrong in saying fundamentalist Christianity has “no holidays”.
Where does it say holidays are bad
I’m a young earth creationist but I don’t think it’s something you have to believe to be saved. It’s not a major issue
You’re covering a lot of things in the last interview you had with Micheal….
One clarification. Gish gallop isn't a fallacy. It's merely a rhetorical technique. It's viewed as weak argumentation (which it is as it tends to do away with any substantiation). But you can be making 10 formally logical, albeit weak, un-fallacious arguments.
Great interview nonetheless.
I heard this recently and would love to hear others' opinions on it... what about God creating something ( earth, man) with age already built in. For example if Adam was created as a man, he passed the whole infant stage, yet would be 1 day old and a dulky grown man at.
Mike Jones 🎶 🎵 he's got a [king] that's far too strong 💪
I could never figure out how people were just blindly believe someone like Jordan Maxwell or or how people get tripped up saying the Red Sea and the Reed Sea I just love it how we forget that the Hebrews back then did not speak American English and in the Greek I'm sure that red and reed aren't as closely spelled and pronounced as they may be in English I'm just saying and that's not the only thing they do that way please do not mistake the English language and how words can sound similar and believe that happened in the Greek are Aramaic please English is not the universal language throughout time in history!
These people can't process simple academic facts like this. Their beliefs prevent them from doing so.
@larrywells5908 totally. Sun and son is another one some folk, particularly those immersed in various occult teachings, like to try and say is the real truth lost to the unenlightened.
@@user-JJJJJJJJJ in the past I've been swept up in those kind of things also but I was never going to quit at that point I was still going to look into it check it out follow up on stuff the scary part is a lot of people won't do that they will instead forget everything the man said the only part they retain is the doubt that he planted in their head
The goat is back
Baptism is kind of a big deal actually…. Other than that solid
Law of extremes, fundamentalist that explain their views to their kids and don’t just spew rules are the issue not fundamentalist .Humans tend to see one problem from either side of the aisle and run to one extreme or another and write everything off in between , humans never have balanced views only staunch stances .
I’m still waiting on… Moorrree Fish 🐟
IP is so awesome, personally my favorite philosopher in the 21st century is David Wood, but lately he has been going to hard on Mike Winger, and William Lane Craig is one of the greatest philosophers of our day. But no one, i repeat NO ONE is better at debunking theological conspiracy theories like all holidays are pagan, and the best defender of children against sick people like that daniel guy, my goodness do we see why islams pattern of conduct has been harmful for the last 1,400 years ?
So costums and passing out candy came from the Catholic church and has nothing to do with pagan celebrations? Interesting.
Look, I get it wanting all to come to salvation, but according to Jesus's words, it'll be like the days of Noah, which will be a bad time for all. I hope He comes today, but we can speculate all day about when and how and never truly know. Overall, it's a good convo.
Brad Lea was insufferable to watch. I was impressed by IP's patience during that interview.
