    I consider Geno the most critical player in the NFL because he's the lone mid level QB in terms of salary. If he were able to get to the Superbowl at half the salary of the top QB's maybe owners would consider spreading the wealth a bit more. The salary disparity in the NFL is crazy.

    How about the idea that Geno finally grew into the stud he was predicted to be? He is in fine shape (for 30+, he has less wear & tare on his body, too!). He has developed his skills and knowledge of the game! I believe in Geno! He is a bargain in this age of huge salaries.
    Great show guys!

    All the Seahawks need is the defense to come alive....both 2022 and 2023 could have more wins if the defense was better

      Coach Pete’s fault for that. Kept hiring non-qualified DC’s and in the case of 22’-23’ that’s Coach Clint Hurt which is also why they all lost their jobs.

      Geno set an NFL record last year with 5 comeback wins in the 4th/OT. If we would of had just a competent defense, we would have won 12 games EASY!

    I liked it when Gino dressed up as a college professor for his post-game interview last season. A sense of humor conentants high intelligence.

    I enjoy how corbin answers his own question about the under 25 ranking. You've got a young but not good oline. You got a young and we hope soon to be great JSN but his rookie year wasnt anything amazing. I know some folks love howell but hes a backup qb so it's hard to count him as a plus part of the roster. Its literally just two CB's and one of them half our own fans have doubts on and one RB who you can say...yep, these are very good players under 25 you can build with. Everyone else is just a projection until the season starts.

    Last season there was Seahawks vs. Cincinnati Bengals week 6 where Geno looked bad but it wasn't his fault. Good choices would be to kick on 4th down and hope the defense stopped and then another kick would have possibly won the game. Rather than doing that Geno was forced to go for it on 4th down twice. There has been O line problem's and PLAY CALLING problems. With a new offensive coordinator and a new new defensive mastermind coach we will see Geno for what he is and with no need for finding new ways to see it. This was just one example. The truth is , I don't know if Geno is as good as we need or not and I also don't know that he Isn't because the team has had to many other problems to blame Geno. When the rest of the team is right and the plays were the right choices then oddly Geno gets the credit but it's actually the whole team. Patrick Mahomes is a great QB in fact he is on a path that might cause everyone to admit he is the best ever , but if Pat had become a Seahawk that would have been a huge disservice to his potential and he would not have already won 3 super bowls and ect ect ect. The coach and the other team members, the o line and the offensive coordinator , oh yeah and the running backs depend on that o line as well so I hope... and btw I don't mean any disrespect to Mahomes because he is not just good he is a lot smarter than most can realize. Geno might show us how good he really is this year.

    I can't wait to see how Geno leads and how Sam will grow. I don't want us to have the bad circumstances to cause this, but I would love to see how Sam plays with a team to support him.

    I recall when Seattle traded Russell Wilson and a decent portion of the fan base wanted to bring Baker Mayfield in. Interesting to see where the 1st rounder fell in this metric!

      Yeah, too bad they were so disorganized last year. But the fact we won anything the way we played last year makes me excited to see how we turn around this year! It's the first time in a long time this team has had someone to put them in their place👮‍♂️

    I would have to think Purdy is currently the best bang for the buck and Stroud because they are on rookie deals. I don't complain about Geno though. He's done a helluva lot better than people think. Funny how people forget how inconsistent Russ was, and going back to before the "Let Russ cook" nonsense that showed all of Russ' flaws.

      I also don't really care for QB rankings of any kind tbh. Mahomes has proven himself and Allen is an athletic freak and all that but almost all of the "middle 20" are basically only as good as the team and coaching around them. The bottom 8-10 aren't really starters but some of them are servicable.

    • @iron_bison
      @iron_bison 3 місяці тому +1

      Purdy and stroud were left off because they are so cheap they skew the numbers too much. Same with Jordan Love.

    Why don't people like Geno, age. If he was 24 All the Talking Head would be telling you how good, he is. Fans as well. He actually young in wear and tear. Geno would be entering only his 5th year as a starter. That's young for a QB. He really only played 4 years before this.

      34 is 34. Last year he missed time to a soft tissue issue last year.

    My personal criticisms of geno have been his inability to get through progressions and slow decision making. His overall performance has been pretty decent but the number of times we have seen him stare down DK waiting for him to get open and when he doesn’t he’s getting sacked for big losses and killing drives or going 3 and out. All while we see Jsn or Lockett run wide open down the field without a look. I can admit that we could be somewhat spoiled from the magic of Russ’s prime years in Seattle.

    Re: Haynes. If curtis or bradford beats him out its not that big of a deal. The IOL has been so poor that it really doesnt matter as long as the best man wins.

    People confuse playing like a top 10 vs playing like a consistent top 10. Geno is not a consistent top 10 QB

      Is Dak? Tua? Goff? Allen? Those guys all have their inconsistencies. This year will tell us a lot. If he plays a full season I submit we will know exactly who Geno really is

      @@jeremyestrill1764not really. Geno has played absolute lights out for two halves of two seasons and pretty meh for the same time.
      Oline sucks? Okay but Geno played great for half a year with a bad oline. He played great for half a year in '22 with a pretty bad oline getting him a ton of sacks.

    Have a ton of respect for Corbin but this process is pretty weird. There's no prizes for a good deal. I hope Geno plays great. But if he was on say 50 million and we won a superbowl would anyone care?

    • @justinland1208
      @justinland1208 3 місяці тому

      I disagree, every dollar not spent on one player is spent on others. The more efficiently your money is spent the higher percentage chance you have to win. There is only 1 Mahomes and maybe 3 guys close to it at any given time in the league. We don't have one of those guys and those guys are not for sale, so its better to get a good QB on a good deal then a slightly gooder QB on an overpay.

    • @iron_bison
      @iron_bison 3 місяці тому

      I get what you're saying. It's a good deal and you do what you can with what you can. My position is fans fret about dollars but in the end if they paid geno 45 .million but he was winning big no one would care.

    Excuse me but Kirk Cousins is 35 and just had a major injury and he is making 1/2 again more than Geno! So get over that issue.

    • @iron_bison

      I don't like cousins because he chokes in big games. I think atlanta paid too much for him. But cousins has 8.5 seasons in his career that are the same or better than one very good season geno had. And I like geno well enough.
